I have been practicing yoga since 2004. In 2013 I was trained in Hatha Yoga and learned planetary chanting. At the beginning of the pandemic I started getting up in the early morning and recorded voice memo meditations on my phone in my backyard or the beach. My intent was to help people relax and de-stress during the highly charged time. If you are an anxious person of any age or a person who has difficulty sleeping it will be a helpful meditation. By any means it is not perfect because it is recorded on my phone. Take what you like and leave the rest. I guide you on a body awareness script and focus on pranayama practices. If you are in physical or emotional pain it may take you out of the place at moments during the practice.
Gentle practice.
You just need a yoga mat and a quiet space. It might help you sleep or rest.

Hello
I did this practice July 13, 2024 on the beach. I chant Om Gam Ganpataye Namaha 108 times. It helps remove obstacles and will give you a sense of protection.
When we chant it helps you focus. The sound of Om resonates with the sound of nature.
I share some breathing practices.
Lastly, I share information about trakaka. This information was taken from my yoga notes from 7 Centres, Sedona Az. In my experiences if I wake up in the middle of the night. If I practice trataka I will get back to sleep with thin 20 minutes.
With anything you need to be consistent with a practice.

You need a quiet space where you won't be disturbed. You need a yoga mat and blankets. Wear socks and loose clothing so you will be warm and comfortable. You can put a rolled up towel orbolster under your knees if you have. a sore back. The goal is to be completely comfortable.
Who should not do yoga Nidra? People with. certain mental conditions that can't be alone with their own thoughts.
This may help you sleep or take you out of a place of pain.

You need a yoga mat maybe even two if you have a sore back. Put a bolster or a rolled up blanket under your lower back if you have back pain. Fold a blanket under yourhead and your shoulders. You can put a folded blanket under your lower back. You can cover your eyes with an eye mask. Lastly cover yourself with a blanket and wear socks. When you are laying still your body temperature lowers and you will become chilly. Your goal here is to get as comfortable as possible so you can remain completely still.
I love this practice because anyone can do it. Squeezing the muscles helps the body relax.

Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation also known as “yogic sleep” or “effortless relaxation”. You will need a yoga mat as you lay down to do this practice. You might like a eye mask. If your lower back is sore roll place a roller or a rolled up towel under your knees. When you are remaining completely still your body temperature will lower so you need a light blanket and socks are always a good idea. You might ask yourself what is the purpose of this. The purpose is to systematically relax the body and the mind while remaining completely still.

Chant nine Mercury Mantras.
Om Aum Bum Budhaya Namaha. We do the mercury mantra to help communication skills and also to help the mind and the body relax. Chanting mantra will help you increase your ability to concentrate and help you focus on a single task. When you use mala beads you don't move your fingers to the next bead until you have completed the mantra. It helps you stay in the present and clear the mind.

Please note in the bumble bee breath I made a mistake to instruct to close off the nostrils. Follow the instructions below,
Bumbleebee breath is typically practiced in a seated position. Thumbs close off the ears, while the last three fingers cover the eyes. The inhale is through the nose, followed by an exhale through the nose with a buzzing or humming sound. This is a great breath to prepare for a meditation.

There is nothing better than being at the beach at sunrise. There are no impressions on the mind. It is a quiet magical time of the day. Sunrise hours are the best time for a meditational practice.

You will need a yoga mat. If your back is sore fold a blanket under your lower back.Fold a blanket under your head and shoulders so your neck is level. Cover yourself with a blanket. Cover you eyes with a eye mask or a light towel. Wear socks so your feet do not get cold. Make yourself as comfortable as possible. Try to remain completely still.
This is a guided body awareness practice that will help you relax. It a free meditation so you will not be interrupted with commercials.
Shavasana means corpse pose in Sanskit, On an emotional level, shavasana helps you learn to let go, or "die" to the things that hold you emotionally and physically locked. Shavasana should be done at the end of a practice so you integrate all the poses performed before it. I have done shavasana at a beginning of a class and it was quite lovely. The recommendation is that it is done at the end of practice or if you are scattered do it during the middle of the day. This pose should be held for a minimum of ten minutes, but it really takes a good fifteen minutes to really go deep. Twenty minutes is golden. The goal is to be completely still and to stay awake. Observe where the breath is in your body. The premise of restorative yoga is to feel supported.Likewise in shavasana you will benefit from feeling supported. So during shavasana put a foam roller under your knees, cover yourself with a blanket, use a eye mask, fold a blanket and put it under your lower back.as well you could put weights in your hands. If you play music play instrumental quiet music. Don't suppress the thoughts. Focus on the breath at the tip of the nose. If your nose is constantly blocked put a sandbag on your navel so you can connect to your breath. If you have constant pain in your back or body it won't take away all your pain but it may lesson the pain. From my experiences my pain has always been lessoned. There are many variations of shavasana. Specific variations are better for trauma and abuse, and others are best for pregnancy and injury.
I started practicing yoga in 2004. I love shavasana!

Hi
My name is Karen Kelly. I have been practicing yoga since 2004. I received my Hatha Yoga Training in 2013 in Sedona , Arizona. I acquired my training the year I turned 50 and I knew the desire for health and wellness would be a priority for baby boomers but little did I know we would be in a pandemic in 2022. When the pandemic started I started posting voice memos of my morning practices. I have not received any monetary gain for any of the meditations. The voice memos are not perfect and they are not professional so I apologize in advance for extra sounds that may detract you from the experience.
Why am I doing it? One I am doing it for myself so I have meditations to listen to in the car. Two a wise yoga teacher shared with me if you have knowledge you should share it.
Who am I? I would describe myself as being shy and always have had anxiety whether that was as a kid when the teacher called on you to read out loud. I am passionate about yoga.
This practice consists of 27 Mercury Mantras .
"Om Aum Bum Budhaya Namaha" followed by a guided body awareness. This cannot replace being in the presence of a yoga teachers. Please support your local yoga teachers.

Saturday, April 16, 2022 will be April's full Pink Moon. With my mala beads I do 108 Moon mantra chants. I share some alternate nostril breathing and at the end you have time for a silent meditation.
What does the moon represent spiritually?
The Moon represents powerful feminine energy. It signifies wisdom, intuition, birth, death, reincarnation, and a spiritual connection. Moon cycles are similar to the cycle of a seed: the seed grows into a flower, then blooms,
With it being Good Friday where people may take the time to reflect.. Expand your self-knowledge and reflect upon your life with acceptance.

This starts with focus on breathing at different points of the body. You can do this sitting up or laying down. Make sure you are warm because when you are sitting still your body temperature will lower. You could put a sandbag on your navel area to help you connect to your breath. Envision a circle around the whole navel area. Bring total awareness on the abdomen area without expanding the chest. At any time return to gentle automatic breath at the tip of the nostrils. Do this on a empty stomach. Clear your nostrils before you start the practice. Top lip and bottom lip are lightly touching teeth are slightly apart and tongue is loose all the way back to the throat. Breath in and out of the nose. If the nose is really congested and blocked breath out the mouth through pursed lips. This will make the breath slower and more intentional. Listen to your body. This recording cannot replace the expertise of a yoga teacher so I urge you to find a yoga teacher in your area to guide you with the process.

You start out in a seated position for 108 chants of Aum. The whole process will take 20 minutes because it is slow chanting. If your not into chanting fast forward the memo.
You will need to set up on the floor on a yoga mat. You could do this on your mattress because you might fall asleep. I like to use a eye mask for my eyes and I will put a foam roller under my knees. If you are on the floor on a yoga mat fold a blanket under your shoulders so your head and neck are level. If you have pain in the lower back fold a blanket under the lower back and you will definitely need a blanket to cover yourself with because your body temperature will lower and you will get chilly. Socks are always a good addition. I included hand pan music so you are not listening to words or listening to water especially if you are trying to get to sleep.
The next step is the 61 points of Yoga Nidra. I have fallen asleep twice doing this practice at this point in the practice.
At the end you listen to the instrumental song of Its a Wonderful World. Again it is not perfect nor is it meant to be. Hopefully it will help you relax or even better yet help you sleep in these crazy times.

I describe alternate nostril breathing .Hold at the top for two counts instead of 4 counts. If you are not familiar with this type of breathing google how to do the practice or learn to do it in a yoga class under the instruction of a yoga teacher.
The second type of breathing I share is Bhramari Pranayama or bumble bee breath. It is my one of my favourite types of practices. At any time you are not comfortable stop the practice.
Silent Meditation. Focus on the inhalations and exhalations at the tip of the nose. At the end of the meditation you are listening to the sounds of wave so it may help you get into a deeper meditation or it may help you go to sleep.

I did this indoors by an open window on a rainy day. First of all if you are grieving it is important to seek help or a support network such as a Grief Support Group. Grieving is a process for everyone. It takes as long as it takes and it will be different for anyone. Also it is beneficial to be gentle with yourself. Get a manicure, massage or body work done. I made a meditation that I thought I would like to listen to.. It is not a easy meditation so seek counselling if that is in your best interest. After the chanting you might like to lay down on a yoga mat on the floor. Cover yourself with a blanket. If you have lower back issues place a blanket under the lower back as well as a foam roller under your knees. Place a folded blanket under your head and shoulders. Use a eye mask for your eyes. If you tighten a muscle it will help it release. This is a short guided walk through the body parts. You might like to do it twice.
Give yourself permission to rest. It is okay to take time out for yourself to rest.

Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu is a Sanskrit mantra which means: “May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.”
Tense and release muscles.

I started doing meditations at the beginning of the pandemic to help people reduce their degree of anxiety. I have not received monetary compensation for any of the podcasts I have posted.
I took music off the internet so there will be instrumental music.
I did a meditation that I would like to use to help me to get to sleep so hopefully it helps you drift off to sleep. You need a yoga mat, eye mask, foam roller and a light blanket. Place a foam roller or a rolled up towel under your knees to release the muscles in the lower back. You can place a sandbag on your stomach to help you connect to your breath. Happy Labour Day Weekend!

Morning Relaxation in my backyard.
I do 27 Om slow chants. I read about pranayama taken from the book Asana Pranayama Mudra Bandha book by Swami Satyanananda Saraswati.
I guide you into a body awareness. I am excited about this meditation because if you are in chronic pain it may take you out of the place for moments.
I have received no monetary gain from all the meditations I have posted. Doing this with the intent it will give someone some relaxation techniques to relieve them from depression or anxiety. I use my meditations to help me sleep or listen with earphones on a plane.

You need a yoga mat, three blankets, eye mask. You can put weights in your hands to help your hands stay in contact with the floor. You can also heat up a sandbag and put it on your navel to help you connect with the breath. 27 navel rising 27 navel falling counting backwards to 0.

I am happy
I am healthy
All is well.
I started doing meditations at the beginning of the pandemic. I haven't received any monetary compensation for any of the meditations I have posted. My intent that this will help someone with high anxiety or take someone out of their pain emotionally or physically. I know in Yoga Nidra the goal is to stay awake but if you fall asleep you obviously needed the sleep. I use my own meditations to help me get to sleep. Enjoy!
