Do you have trouble getting organized, get distracted easily, have angry outbursts, always show up late and are a master at procrastination? If any or all of that sounds like you, take a listen to this episode where Laura & Jess talk through what Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is and what their journey has been like living with it unbeknownst to them for over 30 years vs what life is like now that they have been medicated for a few months. In this episode the girls talk about what lead to their self discovery of ADHD, their symptoms of ADHD, how they talked to their doctors about it and what differences they notice now that they have a diagnosis and are being medicated. They briefly discuss the medication they are on now compared to what the options were back when they were kids and dismantle the stereotypical views they had of what a person with ADHD looked like.

As you listen to this episode, if any of what is discussed resonates with you or someone you know, reach out to your family doctor to have a discussion. Jess & Laura are not medical experts, but are more than happy to share their experiences with the goal of helping others begin advocating for their own mental wellness journeys.

How are you doing? Don't just answer "I'm good" or "Fine." Take a moment, look within and for once be really honest with yourself and ask yourself how are you actually doing? Really look for yourself. Wherever you're at, whether the top of your game or the lowest you've felt in a while, you deserve to and owe it to yourself to make your mental wellness a priority. In this episode, Jess & Laura discuss their experiences with counselling, therapy and give a brief overview of their mental health support journey. They go over how they first started seeking support, what their experiences were like and how you can go about getting started on your own journey. The girls get candid about what's actually in your control and what isn't and break down some common misconceptions about counselling. The way they look at mental health is that it should be treated the same as your physical health and isn't something to be ignored or dealt with only when in times of crisis. Also as a fun bonus, Jess gives an update on how her whistling training has been going!

Honestly, if you've ever thought about counselling or therapy but just didn't know where to start or if you've been prioritizing everyone else's happiness and health over your own for a bit too long, this is the episode for you!

Mary Jane, aka Ganja, aka Marijuana, is the topic of discussion in this episode. Jess & Laura are on a mission to end the stigma around Weed, the people who use it and why they even use it in the first place. As many Canadian millennials can relate to, growing up in the D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) era we were taught that Marijuana was the "Devil's Lettuce" and if taken would only ever lead to harder drugs, therefore it must be avoided at all costs. Stoners, aka people who smoke a ton of weed, were only ever depicted as lazy, unmotivated individuals who usually lived in their mom's basement and listened to Bob Marley.

However, since Cannabis became legal for recreational use in October, 2018 (Canada) both Laura & Jess have learned more about it and have come to discover that those stereotypes are nothing more than urban myths. In this episode, learn about the girl's first experiences with smoking weed, why they enjoy it now and their high hopes for the future. They break down the differences between CBD and THC, sativa vs indica and sprinkle in a few fun facts along the way.

They also discuss the effects cannabis can have on a person and that, it, just like any substance, can be abused. If you or someone you know is having substance abuse issues and/or dealing with addiction, you are not alone and help is available.
