40= generation Grace allows us a generation to correct our actions. God warns Nineveh of their doom in 40 days. The reveals that Gods grace gives space and time for redemption before destruction

Jonah can be interpreted as an allegory for Israel or the modern reader. Jonah begins with doubt then finds himself in trouble only to be redeemed and to redeem.

However Christians often choose a single interpretation for the entire Bible, when the Bible is a collection of different types of books that require different interpretations.
Every interpretation is needed to understand the Bible completely.
Literal interpretations are often questioned in the modern day because they conflict with modern science but their role in our faith is no less important.
A literal reading of Jonah still reveals the character of God as relational, powerful, and merciful even if the actions of God have questionable credibility in the face of science.

It’s a common misconception that Christians are supposed to always be positive, often at the expense of ourselves.
However this is not what Christ called us to do. As humans we experience emotions and use to them to better understand our environment.
God has the same emotions that we do ,so when Jesus wept he revealed the importance of expressing our emotions and allowing them to exist without them controlling our actions.
Our emotions are valid but our responses are not always as valid. Emotions should start our investigation but should not be the conclusion.

Ready to rest?
It’s TOUGH, to find time to rest up in our fast paced world. Often rest is looked down as being lazy, unproductive, or a waste but even God rested on the seventh day.
However rest is to rare to wait till the last day or even when we’re dead, rest is for the living and should be taken seriously as an act of worship. Resting in the midst of the storm is a perfect example of faith on display. Starting Seven Day #7: Rest Is Required
Society may often make us feel guilty of Resting but even God rested on the seventh day.
Rest has been an act of rebellion in America during slavery, enslaved people would use sleep or work stoppages to resist plantation owners.
Rest is an act of Faith. A moment in space and time where we relinquish control, challenges and issues over to God.
Rest is not a reward, but a requirement . Rest is often seen as a reward for a job well done but God created rest as a requirement to get the job done well.

Starting Seven Day #6: The choices we Make
Since the creation of humanity Choice has integral to the human experience. The restriction of choice is seen as a punishment while the inclusion of choice is often perceived as mandatory.
Love require Choice. Love cannot be forced or litigated. God gives us choice to further the love between creator and creation.
We are safe to make Choices because God is always there. As a God of duality, all choices are covered.
Christ is often seen as sinless due to innate and divine intercourse leading to Jesus birth. However many early tellings of Jesus omit the virgin birth. While theologians like Augustine believe sex transmitted sin, sin more likely comes from the commitment to incorrect choices.

Humans have always had a need to know our reality but often this knowledge can lead to us feeling isolated or insignificant. However the reality we live in was Created by a God that loves and cares for us.

Divinity in Distinction
Being different can be seen as difficult by many especially in religious groups.
Though these difficulties are often solved with colorblindness or complete ignorance of differences in an attempt to forget the problem. Just because people are different they should not be seen as difficult.
God uses differences to highlight the depth of Gods love. Divinity is found in both what’s shared and what is not. In fact this duality is the true divinity.

Starting anything is scary but starting all of existence is terrifying. Perhaps this is why the author illustrates God in complete darkness.
Often darkness is viewed as evil while the light is presented as pure. This dynamic has justified the oppression of those deemed dark.
This dynamic is not founded in solid theology as God originally exists in the Dark. The limitation of light causes us to miss what God does in the Dark
To Deal with the dark we must accept the things beyond our control, and trust God with the unknown.

The Act of Love

Bell hooks defines love as “an act of will, both intention and action”
We often have difficulties defining love due to the multi dues of used, even scripture has difficulty clarifying.
Love is a verb, in order for love to be all the multitudes we require it must be able to act in all conditions.
Verbs are versatile enough to be in any condition or sentence. Love as a noun would be limited as the subject but as a verb it is free as the action.
God is Love, the combination of intention and action . Gods intention has always been for us to prosper and God has always acted on this intention showing the divinity in love. Every time we act in Love we act in Divinity

Calling all Creation
Often Christianity ignores the role nature plays in our faith and calling.
God calls all of creation not simply humanity.
God cares for all of creation , not just the portion that obeys
All of creation is redeemed, not just humanity. When sin entered the world through Adam all of creation needed redemption. Luckily the actions of the cross redeem all of creation not only the descendants of Adam.

The comeback
Victory and success are not manifested from thin air but instead are grown from fields of failure.
Defeat is a Divine chance for development. Failures are included in the Plan God has for us even if the desire was never for us to fail.
Our faith is fulfilled in the face of defeat. Praise works only as half of our faith. While laments are the second half of faith which our needed in the face of Defeat
Our calling is completed in the comeback. Jesus’ purpose was not completed until the defeat on the cross. It was in the comeback of Jesus that his purpose was fulfilled

Getting Better
All of us want to get better but many of us don’t know where to start. Or when we do it doesn’t stick.
First we have to start with a clean slate. The old methods will get the old results but through Christ we are reborn with new methods.
Release who we were yesterday to God, so we can receive who we will be tomorrow.
Getting better is gradual which is why God promised to be with us all of our days. And that no one not even our pst self will Be able to stand against us.
Getting better takes strength and courage, but God gives those in abundance

Tools can be used or abused depending on who uses them
the tool that is Christianity has more African inspirations in its origin than Europe ones.
Despite Christianity’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, this tool still has the ability to liberate the very people it enslaves.
Tools that can either liberate or enslave should not be given away by the meek ,but instead used by the weak to make a better world.
