This is yūbi.
Here you can find some records of my photographic projects and stories of real people; Some interviews and scattered talks.
Yūbi is about grace, gentleness, elegance, daintiness, beauty, stillness, and quietness. It is a state of mind; and also a photographic approach.
It is also the name of my Photo Zine.

A project that depicts the penitents, the believers, the pilgrims, the ones who persevere to save their soul. A very intimate portrait session with Maria José, 95, at her home. She still works as a volunteer to help those who struggle to survive these days. To keep her brain in shape she solves complicated sudokus every day. She goes every day to the church and doesn’t go without a nice breakfast at the shopping center.
Life is about a permanent unfolding revealing process.
Photography brought us the ability to see this process. There’s an implied innocence in it!
If one can recognize this innocence in a photograph, one can see life unfolding.
There’s a pure essence!
Life is pure poetry. Photography is pure poetry.
A record made in an informal conversation with Maria, the day after I made her portrait for "Far removed" project. She was telling me that the night before didn't feel well and prayed what she named the confession of confessions - the last prayer.
It all begins with an idea. An idea of shadows. An idea of scattered light revealing just a few details.
