I know, you’ve probably heard the word “boundaries” more times than you can count and you’ve heard the speeches about protecting your peace and upholding boundaries with others and yes, I’m sure you get it by now. But what about our boundaries with ourselves? Are those healthy? Are we practicing upholding and honoring our own boundaries with ourselves? Are we calling ourselves out when we engage in toxic behavior and patterns? Are we giving ourselves what we need? And if not, are we doing anything about it? Sometimes we are the problem. Sometimes we are the reason bad patterns repeat. Speak up for yourself but also to yourself. Know and take action on what you need. Say to others “if I expect it from you it’s because I expect it from me.” Take accountability. Maybe you’re upholding their boundaries, but maybe by not upholding our own, we’ll never really be the healthiest, happiest versions of ourselves we can be. When you look in the mirror, who do you want to see? Someone who made their own choices and changes or someone who just gave up and let it be? ~ xoxo. s. 🌹--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/shea444/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/shea444/support
An object in motion will stay in motion unless acted upon by an outside force…or, until we call ourselves out! F1 drivers push their cars to the limit, going around and around the tracks at hundreds of miles an hour, often times with mechanical issues that go unfixed purely for the sake of the race until an issue becomes so severe they have to stop or be stopped in the pits. We’re not so different. We get so wrapped up in living at a hundred miles an hour, getting so caught up in mindless monotony, we often don’t stop to check ourselves or call ourselves out. That is, (usually) until an outside force. Thank you to my outside forces. And to myself and everyone else in the pits, it’s okay to be in progress. It’s okay to be confused. It’s okay to be a little bit broken and lost. But we all come out of the pits eventually. We’ll come back better than ever and off to the races again soon. ~ xoxo. s. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/shea444/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/shea444/support
“Understanding that I am too much for most, does not mean that I have to accept less. When we were children, reaching for the monkey bars, they did not lower them to make it easier to obtain. We were told to climb. That is how, I too, am earned. Meet me where I’m at, or stay behind. As a mountain, why should I shrink for those who refuse to climb?” ~ xoxo. s. 🌹

This is a sneak peek into a Q&A segment on my Patreon (www.Patreon.com/thesheaway) - this podcast is in response to one member’s (Jennifer’s) question about my inspirations! And my thoughts on whether it’s healthy to have one person to look up to vs having many to look up to for all different reasons, every day. Check it out, check out the Patreon and come meet some fellow members, soon-to-be-friends and we can all inspire each other! ~ xoxo. s. 🌹

How often have we seen our friend need support and thought, “Someone else will do it.” Or “They’ll understand if I don’t. They’ll be fine.” Probably more times than we would like to admit. But, how often do we realize, while we wait for someone else to show up for our friend, no one actually does show up for them. In this episode I discuss having awareness about showing up for yourself and showing up for your friends. We all know about haters. But how often is it discussed just how painful it is to feel a lack of loud and proud support from your own friends? This is something I personally have been in pain over for quite sometime but felt I shouldn’t really say. So, let’s discuss. How have you shown up for your friends lately? Have you shown up at all? Maybe you think so. But too often, we don’t know what is going on in our friend’s lives, and we don’t know how much of a difference our inactivity can make in their lives. If your friends have a business, or create something, have you bought from them? Have you shared their work? Or have you sat around, verbally supporting and not backing them up? If you are always waiting for someone else to do the nice thing, and someone else is always waiting for you to do the nice thing, when is the nice thing getting done? Who suffers? Let’s all be more aware of our actions, and take accountability for our lack thereof. Stop waiting for someone else to do what you could for someone else. ~ xoxo. s. 🌹

I know it’s easy to get downtrodden when relationship after relationship (or situtionship after situationship) leaves you feeling like you will never find love. Trust me. I had completely given up. In this episode I talk about my experience with loves & lusts being lessons learned leading up to story time about when, where, how and why I knew when I found the one. Please do not give up on you. Love, and your dreams, are out there waiting for you. So, what are you gonna do? ~ xoxo. s. 🌹

I took a step towards mine by creating my own Patreon. A place I can be accountable and take action towards my dreams and creating a safe, supportive space for others, AND myself. It’s not about talking the talk, it’s about walking the walk. Be brave enough to suck at something new. You never know what is beyond your fears. We wait and work and waste our whole lives away searching for self-love that external things promise to bring. And even when we collect these checklist items, the right job, the right home, the right person, the right time, no one tells you that you might still feel like you are doing everything wrong. And even if these factors bring you happiness and success, (which I hope they do), none of these external factors can make you love you, unless you choose to. But, you can. I want all of you, to love them, but still choose you. ~ xoxo. s. 🌹

It’s 1 year of The Shea Way Podcast and I’m discussing reconnecting versus restarting when it comes to a new year, a new goal, and a new perspective. Every late December/early January people want to restart their whole lives. Wipe the slate clean. But then what’s left? A desire you outgrow and a goal that you internalize as a mess-up. You don’t have to do this to yourself. You don’t have to restart completely. You don’t have to run a marathon before you’ve wiggled a toe. You don’t have to dedicate your life, or your year, before you’ve tried five minutes. That goal? Go after it, imperfectly. Make a mess of it. Make it work for you. Make it yours. You won’t make this year your year by forgetting all the others. You’ll make this your year by learning from all the others, while re-connecting with your most authentic and best self along the way. ~ xoxo. shea. 🌹

We’ve all been there. Putting something off for one reason, or another, or an entire list of reasons. In this episode I talk about the correlation between procrastination and Perfectionism/Imposter Syndrome & Mental Health. Plus how often in the planning stages we worry about the “post” so intensely, we erase our “present”. And how sometimes the best pep talk is, “Hey, that’s okay. I feel the same way.” You’re not alone. ~ xoxo. s. 🌹

Reminding yourself that you are valid and valued during a time of loss is crucial to a healthy healing process. Take time to yourself and take time to trust your intuition. Take time to feel your feelings, find what you need and acknowledge that it’s okay not to be okay. Feel what you feel, need what you need, and give yourself to yourself while you heal your heart. ~ xoxo. s. 🌹

Often times, life can be like bowling. Sometimes you strike, and sometimes you’re off course and need bumpers to guide you. Everyone, at some point, runs into facing something that makes them decide how they will respond to life. Because as much as we hope, just like bowling, it’s not always strikes. So when faced with all the pins, feeling like you just can’t do it, there’s only one way out....and it’s always to push through it. However, every moment, of every day, it’s up to you. Who do you want to be? How will you get through it? It’s okay to sometimes rely on life bumpers, trying to make your way through the dark. Needing to choose, isn’t what defines us. It’s what we do with the option that shows who we are. ~ xoxo. s. 🌹

“This future of yours, when does it begin? Today? Or always tomorrow?” Are we taking the time to accept ourselves? Or are we wasting time, waiting for others to accept us? And if we do take that time for us, are we feeling too guilty to even embrace it? If so, we need to find balance and set boundaries so we can stop feeling guilty, for feeling good. ~ xoxo. s. 🌹

In life, the only real competition is with you vs. you. And in every second, of every day, you have the power to choose. Will you choose the you that doubts you? Or that you that believes in yourself enough to pull through? Prove it to yourself. Prove that you can do so much more than any limitation that has ever been placed on you. Take breaks when you need to. Love yourself through them. And when you’re ready again, choose you. The only way out, is through. ~ xoxo. s. 🌹

Okay...I started. So...What Now? What Next? What if everything goes wrong?...Well...what if everything goes just right? We all have that thing (or things) we hope for, envision and dream of one day being true. Let’s stop spending our lives wondering while waiting for it. And start spending our lives wondering while working for it. The spark is within us all. Are we going to wait for the wind to blow in our direction? Or fan the flame ourselves? ~ xoxo. s. 🌹

I wanted to start off with a poem that sums up the uncertainty and simultaneous hope of daring to take a chance. I know that fear, that doubt, and that hesitation, are all road blocks and speed bumps felt by everyone at different points. And I wanted anyone and everyone who does feel that way to know that they are not alone. And that someone out there believes in them. Me. I believe in you. And I feel the same fear. So, we can start again, together. We can dare to fail, dare to fall, and more importantly...dare to fly. ~ xoxo. s. 🌹
