A podcast dedicated to discussing "what we talk about when we talk about mind." This podcast is a psycholinguistic research project by Boban Dedović, a graduate researcher at the University of Chicago, Chicago, IL, USA. Each 30-60 minute episode features a guest who may know one or more languages; a collection of song lyrics; or, a collection of movie scenes. The topic of discussion is focused on what kinds of words, phrases, and constructions people use when referring to mental action: for example, thinking, brain, heart, mind, thought, idea, etc. The purpose of this podcast is to share some of the primary source materials for a revised graduate thesis in the fields of Egyptology and psycholinguistics. The working title of the thesis is "He Who Moves in Two Directions: Being Psycholinguistic Analyses of Behavioral Causation in the Songs of 'Sinuhe'" (est. release date Aug, 2022).
