As we continue with part 2 and conclude the teaching on one of the tactics narcissists employ to exert control and manipulation onto their targets, we will be looking at the different criteria that flying monkeys fall into, as well as how to deal with them.

You feel attacked. People are pointing at you and whispering. Some, are total strangers, and some are people you know. People you thought were your friends seem to be avoiding you lately. You hear that you’re being gossiped about. You’re being lied about. You start to feel like an outcast in your own social group. They spread lies about you and bash you in an attempt to tear you apart from the people and places you love.I hope you never experience this, but if you do, there is a good chance you are a victim of a narcissistic smear campaign.Narcissists recruit others to spread the lies, to actively participate in the damage to the target’s reputation. The psychological term for these associates is:FLYING MONKEYS.

Gaslighting is an abusive tactic aimed to make a person doubt their own thoughts and feelings. It is often subtle especially in the beginning when they're still grooming the target to believe the false narratives. For example, if the target tells a story, the abuser may challenge a small detail.

We will be looking at: -Where it originates from -Why abusers do it -Warning signs -Techniques used -How it affects you -How to overcome it

Once again let’s get informed and educated about abuse. Knowledge is power.

“My people perish because of lack of knowledge “ Hosea 4:6.

We will be learning about one of the abusive ways a narcissist employs to further torture their target during and after the relationship.

What is a smear campaign? It is the intentional and systematic dissemination of deceptive information designed to undermine, discredit, and further isolate you. The narcissist paints you in a misleading and toxic light using strategies including but not limited to exaggeration, instigation of rumours, slander, character assassination and lies.

To get you where it really hurts, they target any person available to them who matters to you. No one and nothing is off-limits to the narcissist. This encompasses your family members, all friends both mutual and non-mutual, employer, co-workers, and members of communities to which you belong (e.g.: neighbours, church, volunteering organisations, sports teams etc.). Anyone accessible to the narcissist in your professional and personal networks is fair game.

Now listen on, be informed and help raise awareness.

In today’s world of public opinion and fear of offending, Christians can find themselves standing with their mics muted.

It is like Jesus Christ is still asking His Bride, the church the same question He asked His disciples: “Who do people say I am?” “Who you say that I am?”

In this podcast, we will look at the two questions and learn from them what Jesus really wanted to bring home to His disciples.

On this episode, I would like to highlight the fact that everyone single one of us has a call of God upon their lives. A God-given and God-ordained purpose to fulfil His work here on the earth. We are on a journey and our finish line is the arrival and accomplishment of that purpose. This is so we call all, in the end, say: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7 NKJV

On this episode, I am attempting to bring back to our minds, the main purpose of salvation. In as much as it is for sinners to be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ, it does not end there. We get saved for the main purpose of seeing other sinners saved too. This is what the Master said. That’s what He commissioned us to do.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8

Domestic violence has always been in the forefront with many causes of mental illness. As you may know that during the lockdown, the prevalence of domestic violence went higher to a point where currently residential rescue missions have run out of available rooms to accommodate new arrivals.

As a mental health professional and working at the forefront of things, we have seen a rise in attendance to the emergency department by those affected by domestic violence seeking help with their mental health.

It has become apparent that society at large, is somehow not knowledgeable about recognising potential abusers and also the potential victims lack self-awareness and tools that will help them avoid getting entangled in toxic relationships in the first place.

Prevention is always better than cure.

On this episode, I attempt to illustrate potential abusive personalities as well as potential victim personalities, their characteristics and causes.
