Listen to this episode to learn more about why we avoid challenging and uncomfortable situations in our daily lives. Have you ever wondered why people ghost you instead of being honest with you? Is reinforcement from ourselves more of a primary reinforcer for us than reinforcement from others?

Travis shares about avoidance being a positive reinforcer for him in his life that caused him to quit many jobs because they made him anxious and uncomfortable. You will also learn how he is learning to self-reinforce his own positive behaviors so that he can keep his new job.

Travis teaches the listener about "context" of reinforcement. We want to match our positive reinforcement with the level of the behavior we are reinforcing and don't want to provide reinforcement that is out of context.

Travis landed a new job and tells you all about it in this episode. He also talks about a lot of deep autism content. He introduces the friendship acquaintance ratio, social thinking, black and white thinking versus gray thinking, and a whole lot more.

Travis shares how his black or white thinking gets him into trouble on occasion with stalking. Travis exhibits odd, weird, and creepy behavior that makes girls feel uncomfortable and feel as if they are being stalked.

Typically struggling to understand the gray area, Travis finds it ironic that he is good at being creepy. Creepy is a gray area which is why he doesn't understand how or why he is being creepy but yet he is good at being creepy.

Travis shares that there are five different levels of social relationships. Being a black and white thinker Travis' brain is either at level 1 or level 5 in social relationships meaning he is missing out on getting to know a lot of interesting people.

Travis talks about how he generalizes up and down on the friendship circle to place people either in level 1 or level 5 and doesn't understand how to place people in levels 2 through 4.

Travis also makes the point that the autism spectrum is like a math line segment with two arrows on it. It's a never ending spectrum and we are all on the spectrum somewhere.

Sit back, grab some popcorn, and enjoy the show.
