Developed from a new reading of Lord Byron's 1813 bestseller, feature film THE GIAOUR returns voice to its drowned heroine Leila, and finds a love story between two men – one Muslim, the other, Christian – caught in the age-old conflict between the East and West.

We talk to professor Rebecca Nesvet, Professor of Literature at University of Wisconsin, Green Bay.
