We can also see the answer to the question, HOW to make disciples... teach and baptize people. But WHY are we to do it? If we look closely at this passage, there is a really important clue.

This passage takes us to a very challenging truth: our world rewards individualism, autonomy, and independence. So much so that we often don't see the necessity of connectedness, community and dependence on God. God talks to us about this not only in the New Testament, but we also see a resistance, even a flat rejection, of Jesus' teachings in the New Testament and that got me thinking about how we live in our culture, in our society of today.

David Wicks joins us to speak as part of our Lead Pastor Candidate weekend.In times of uncertainty or trials, we often try to squeeze God into a contract. If I do "this", God will give me "that". God is not a God of contracts, but of the covenant. Covenants are relational, binding and not broken. Contracts are temporary, breakable and result or item focused. God's grace to us is not contractual in nature. Uncertainty means we just need to continue walking in the covenant. Our side of the covenant is to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God.

In the midst of uncertainty, we're tempted to fear and control. We'll see God's astounding sovereignty in the story of Joseph. And yet, because God is going ahead of us to direct our path, we can rest. Because God is sovereign we can live with hope.
We hear many different messages about who we are. Some of those messages come from ourselves and past hurts. Some come from the world. Some come from the enemy who wants to hurt and destroy us. This isn't so much a message as it is a reminder of many of the places in scripture where God tells us who we are to Him.
In John 15, Jesus teaches an important lesson using the Vine and the Branches parable. In it, he uses the image of a grapevine to communicate the importance of being connected. We must stay connected to God - the gardener, to Jesus - the vine, and to each other.
Uncertainty is a difficult thing to carry. We want answers and assurances. But the good news is that God’s got this. No matter what “this” is for you right now, God’s got it.

In this conclusion of the story of Nehemiah and the restoration of Jerusalem we are reminded that even when the outer, physical work of restoring the walls and city of Jerusalem was done, it wasn't the end of the restoration. Their response was to enter into worship and into an inner spiritual restoration.

In the story of Nehemiah, at some point during their moving forward in restoration, they realized that those with money and power were treating the poor and powerless unfairly. Justice is an important part of God's character and realizing this, Nehemiah stopped the restoration to address the situation. The principle for us is that no matter how important "doing God's work" seems to us, people come first. Following God means that people are more important than projects.
Jesus' transfiguration has been associated with Moses, who also stood before God, and the prophet Elijah. Focus - why these two?
As we move towards recovery, healing and restoration we WILL experience opposition. Moving forward means change and not everyone quickly embraces change. We will also experience spiritual opposition from the enemy because Satan wants us to stay in the place of pain and loss and opposes us when we move towards the restoration that God has for us.
We all have times where we face a Goliath like problem/issue in our lives, and instead of running away we need to be like David and stand up to our Giants. But we can not do this alone. We need each other and we need God. Let’s face our Goliaths like P.R.O.S (Pray always, Resist the devil, Obey, Steady and Strong faith) May our Goliath's fall!
In this continuing study of Nehemiah, we see that the recovery can only happen when the people are united in purpose and everyone does their part. Not everyone can do everything but everyone can do something.
A continuation of the study of the book of Nehemiah from last time. This message will focus on the risk that Nehemiah took as he asked the King for help. As we dream courageously, we eventually need to commit those dreams to God and take risks as we step out in faith.
Society and the Bible have perspectives and approaches about life after death that take two distinctly opposite roads. Today’s world and many religions have “zero” tolerance for Christianity. Satan’s strategies, Hell and individual ‘s falling away from Christ will be compared to Jesus ’teachings, Heaven and Christian signposts to Eternity.

We will be looking at the book of Nehemiah and the journey that Nehemiah and the people of Israel took as they transitioned from a place of captivity to being restored as a nation. We will focus on principles that K-ZMC can apply in the various transitions that are happening including (hopefully) a transition out of this pandemic reality.

The Massacre of the Innocents from Matthew 2 offers critical insight into the peace that can truly be ours.
We will reflect on the weariness of both the world Jesus was born into and our own. We will consider the birth story and consider Jesus as the rising sun, breaking the darkness and pointing to hope and thus, great joy!
God invites ordinary people with all their foibles into his story. Sometimes we think Joseph, Mary and the Shepherds were great saints. They were ordinary like you and I. With grace, God is inviting you into his story too.
God wants to heal you. Will you allow Him the space? Don't wait! It is possible to experience greater peace. We'll consider the ongoing practices of becoming a community of healing.
God invites us to place complete trust in Him. But often, when faced with challenges we fear, which leads to 'fight' or 'flight', just like Saul. These fears are connected to our sense of value. How can we invite Jesus in to receive his love in a way that enables us to proceed with courage?
