FAITH WITHOUT WORKS

For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead. (James 2:26)

There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—(Ephesians 1:4)

remembering before our God and Father your WORK OF FAITH and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 1:3)

Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you BELIEVE in him whom he has sent.” (John 6:28-29)

We are the ones knocking on the door and asking for bread in the passage in James…

And I tell you, ASK, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; KNOCK, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” (Luke 11:9-13)

Here is a poem reiterating this truth,

ONE MEDIATOR

For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, (1 Timothy 2:5)

The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever. (Hebrews 7:23-24)

The law was given through angels and entrusted to a mediator. A mediator, however, implies more than one; but God is one.
(Galatians 3:19-20)

Hebrews 7:23-Hebrews 8

for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human?
What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.
(1 Corinthians 3:3-7)
I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown. (Revelation 3:7)

not exercising authority over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. (1 Peter 5:3)
You were bought with a price; do not become bondservants of men. (1 Corinthians 7:23)

We are going to dive deep into a mystery. It is important to note that we are made in God’s image, not the other way around. Every tribe and every culture in some way reflects the image of God. Men and women together are made in the image of God, yet we have made God into the image of how we see one man.

So God created man (mankind) in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27)

-word used for man often should be all of humanity in both the Greek and the Hebrew.

God is one person, but not like a human. God knows every thought going on right now. God knows every hair on every head that has ever walked the face of the earth. Holds the universe in the palm of His hand.

Romans 1:22-24

We have made God in our image, the image of man.

We largely miss what is in the scriptures and what God has spoken because our traditions make the word of God of no effect. We have many denominations and many church doctrines built on man’s intellect.

Why is this so important?

God has given us all free-will to choose what we believe. We decide what we let into our heart, which is the seat of our beliefs.

The bible says that we have no need that any man should teach us, but the anointing teaches us all things. The Holy Spirit leads us into all truth. So search this out for your self. “They will all be taught by God.

-Household of God
Hebrew 3:1-6
Ephesians 2:3-4
Revelation 21:4-5 dwelling place of God with man

We are now in the household of God. As Cynthia has pointed out, the Trinity is a family. God is a perfect beautiful family that we are now a part of. In the body of Christ, the Father is preached, worshipped and honored as well as He should be for He is like no Father the world could ever see or imagine. Likewise, the Son is honored worshipped and admired as well as He should be for He is love and truth and everything beautiful!

But where is the Mother in this family? Is the household of God a single parent household without a mother.

The scriptures and many throughout history would say OF COURSE NOT! So who is our mother?

Proverbs 1-Wisdom is described as She.

Wisdom cries aloud in the street,
in the markets she raises her voice;
at the head of the noisy streets she cries out;
at the entrance of the city gates she speaks:
“How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple?
How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing
and fools hate knowledge?
If you turn at my reproof,a
behold, I will pour out my spirit on you;
I will make my words known to you. (Proverbs 1:20-23)

From Genesis to Revelation God is given feminine attributes and described as a mother who gives birth, nurses and comforts as such.

Throughout Church History, the Holy Spirit has regularly been referred to as Mother and spoken of as She.

Early church fathers such as Origen, Jerome and Clement described the Holy Spirit as Mother and also attributed Wisdom in the Proverbs to the Holy Spirit.

Count Zizzendorf who was the leader of the Moravian Revival which some say is the catalyst of the First great awakening was adamant that the Holy Spirit is the Mother of the Church and even went so far as to say that those who know the Spirit know her as mother.

He described God as family represented in the Trinity and said that those who experience the Trinity in their hearts experience God as the Father, the Son and the Mother.

In the first of this 3 part series, Cynthia Dunbar expounds on this truth and goes through scriptures that describe the beauty and glory of our Heavenly Mother.

In this message, we discuss true equality found in Jesus Christ.

They do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long, and they love the place of honor at feasts and the best seats in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces and being called rabbi by others. But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brothers. And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven. Neither be called instructors, for you have one instructor, the Christ. The greatest among you shall be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
(Matthew 23:5-12)

“But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them. “It is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave; just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:25-29)

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. (Matthew 28:18)

and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority. (Colossians 2:10)

far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in the one to come. Ephesians 1:21

You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, announcing the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. Acts 10:36

You were bought with a price: Do not be bondservants of men. 1 Corinthians 7:23

There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. (Ephesians 4:4-6)

“The Lord is at your right hand; he will shatter kings on the day of his wrath. He will execute judgment among the nations, filling them with corpses; He will shatter heads over the wide earth.” (Psalm 110:5-6)

“Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every archy, and every authority and power.” (1 Corinthians 15:24)

“You call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am. If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.” (John 13:13-14)

Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain. (Isaiah 40:4)

Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness (leveling, equity); (Psalm 45:6)

FAITH Freedom Aquired In Truthful Hearing NOT FEAR False Evidence Appearing Real

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
(Romans 10:17)

You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. (John 8:32)

So if the Son sets you free, you shall be free indeed. (John 8:36)
but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls. (John 10:38-39)
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. (Hebrews 11:1-3)

For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.” Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.” But the law is not of faith, rather “The one who does them shall live by them.” Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith. (Galatians 3:10-14)

But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: (Romans 3:21-22)

For Moses writes about the righteousness that is based on the law, that the person who does the commandments shall live by them. But the righteousness based on faith says, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down) “or ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); (Romans 10:5-8)

to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’ (Acts 26:18)

In this message, Jacob Dunbar discusses the ascension and the coming of the Son of Man, Jesus into His Kingdom followed by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the world where we now possess the kingdom through the Holy Spirit.

Jacob then goes on to discuss the importance of partnering, interacting and ministering with the Angels of God.

“I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed. (Daniel 7:13-14)
But the court shall sit in judgment, and his dominion shall be taken away, to be consumed and destroyed to the end. And the kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High; his kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.’ (Daniel 7:26-27)
Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (Matthew 24:30)
Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says,
“‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at my right hand,
until I make your enemies your footstool.”’
Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” (Acts 2:33-39)

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, (Hebrews 12:22)
Of the angels he says, “He makes his angels winds, and his ministers a flame of fire.” And to which of the angels has he ever said, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet” Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation? (Hebrews 1:5...13-14)
Lift up your heads, O gates! Be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of Glory may enter! (Psalm 24:7)
Jesus told the pharisees that they stand at the gates and don’t go in themselves nor do they let anyone else in.
and the enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are the angels. (Matthew 13:39)
Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:37)
And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Matthew 24:31)
The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. (Psalm 34:7)
And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” (Luke 2:8-15)
When Joshua was by Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man was standing before him with his drawn sword in his hand. And Joshua went to him and said to him, “Are you for us, or for our adversaries?” 14And he said, “No; but I am the commander of the army of the LORD. Now I have come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshipedc and said to him, “What does my lord say to his servant?”15And the commander of the LORD’s army said to Joshua, “Take off your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so. (Joshua 5:13-15)
When the servant of the man of God rose early in the morning and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was all around the city. And the servant said, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. (2 Kings 6:15-17)
Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to him. (Matthew 4:11)
See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 18:10)
And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. And being in agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. And when he rose from prayer, he came to the disciples and found them sleeping for sorrow, and he said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation.” (Luke 22:43-45)
Mat 16:27 - For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.

By His stripes you are healed this very day! Sickness and injury can have nothing to do with you in Jesus name!

We have a choice what we believe. We can choose to believe the scriptures and the finished work of the cross even when the enemy is attacking our soul through our bodies or mind.

“My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.” (‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭4:20-23)‬

Jesus healed all that came to Him and showed us that it is always God’s will to heal.

“how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” (Acts‬ ‭10:38‬)

The bible tells us that the will of God is perfectly shown to us in Jesus Christ and that if we have seen Him, we also see the Father. Jesus is God and showed us that sickness is always God’s enemy.

On the cross Jesus destroyed all sickness, sin and death. We have been purchased from sin and sickness. Jesus forgave sins and healed all diseases. The gospel includes salvation from sin and sickness.

“Surely He has borne our illnesses And carried our disease; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” ‭‭(Isaiah‬ ‭53:4-5‬)

“who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness— by whose stripes YOU WERE HEALED.” (‭‭I Peter‬ ‭2:24)

“When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed ALL who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”” ‭‭(Matthew‬ ‭8:16-17)‬

THE BODY

Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” (Matthew 26:26)

-In Matthew 15 Jesus Himself uses bread as a metaphor for healing.

-In John 6, Jesus tells us that his body (flesh) is the bread of life.

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.” (John 6:47-51)

-Jesus’ body was broken so that we can walk in perfect health. He healed everyone who came to Him and showed us that God’s will is ALWAYS healing. We take the bread in remembrance that by His stripes we are already healed, for on the cross Jesus abolished ALL sickness. We now receive this perfect health by faith and watch it manifest in our physical bodies. (Isaiah 53:4-5, 1 Peter 2:24, Matthew 8:16-17

“Surely He has borne our illnesses And carried our diseases; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” (‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:4-5)‬

“who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness— BY WHOSE STRIPES YOU WERE HEALED.” (I Peter‬ ‭2:24)

“When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed ALL who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”” (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭8:16-17‬)

“how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing ALL who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”
(‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:38‬)

and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who ABOLISHED death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,
(2 Timothy 1:10)

THE BLOOD

And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. (Matthew 26:27-28)

-The wine (or grape juice) represents the blood of Jesus that was poured out for the total forgiveness and remission of our sins. The lamb of God has taken away the sins of the world! You are forgiven, washed, cleansed, justified, redeemed, ransomed, sanctified, glorified, set free, perfected, made new and fully accepted by the precious blood of Jesus! Just believe and receive!

The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29)

He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. (1 John 2:2)

and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. (Hebrews 12:24)

For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
(Colossians 1:19-20)

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, (Ephesians 1:7)

and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood (Revelation 1:5)

And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
(1 Corinthians 6:11)

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. (Ephesians 2:13)

And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. (Romans 8:30)

And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all...For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. (Hebrews 10:10, 14)

knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. (1 Peter 1:18-19)

We are only able to love because of God’s steadfast and unconditional love for us. Once we believe and receive the amazing love from our Father in heaven, then we are able to love others and to walk in freedom. Extravagant worship is a response to a revelation of the cross of Jesus Christ.

‘I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false. I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name’s sake, and you have not grown weary. But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. (Revelation 2:1-5)

Remember from where you have fallen

that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all. (Ephesians 1:20-23)

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, (Ephesians 2:4-6)

First Love

And love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as the propitiation for our sins...We love because He first loved us. (1John 4:10,19)

For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:6-8)

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:4-5)

The fear of the Lord is NOT the same as human fear. The fear of the Lord is awe, reverence and faith in God! God loves you so much!

For the Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. (1John 4:18)

Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. (James 1:16-17)

And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD. And his delight shall be in the fear of the LORD. (Isaiah 11:2-3)

You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday. (Psalm 91:5-6)

“but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls. (Hebrews 10:38-39)

His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior; the Lord delights in those who fear him,who put their hope in his unfailing love. (Psalm 147:10-11)

Trials are only for a moment. You can rest assured that the victory is yours in Jesus Christ! This attack from the enemy will pass and your faith in God will be validated!

Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. (Romans 5:3-5)

You may have heard it said, "Jesus is perfect theology." This statement is 100% true since Jesus is the TRUTH! Jesus reveals the nature character and will of God. Any view of God outside of Jesus is a view through the veil of the law of Moses and the old covenant.

If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.” Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. (John 14:7-10)

He is the radiance of the Glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature. (Hebrews 1:3)

Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God, as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’” (Hebrews 10:7)

It is crucial for the church to understand the difference between true authority and raw tyrannical power. The Scriptures and church history give us clear examples of civil disobedience. The body of Christ should be the first to stand against tyranny but instead we see pastors and church leaders hiding behind a faulty understanding of Romans 13. In this message Cynthia Dunbar unpacks Romans 13 and gives examples of when we should resist men who are abusing their authority. A man who acts outside of his governing authority is no longer acting in authority but instead is acting in tyranny.
