Certamen is a Latin quiz-bowl style game where students across the country compete to demonstrate their knowledge in several classical fields, including the Latin language, Roman history and culture, Greco-Roman mythology, Latin literature, and more. In The Buzzer Race, we listen to the stories of the stalwarts of the scene--current competitors, former players, coaches, writers, and others--to learn about their perspective on Certamen, to get to know them as people beyond their achievements, and to delve into what makes this game so special.
