Joy McGill serves as AARP Oklahoma's advocacy director, where she has worked since 2017. With her experience as a policy advocate, she spearheads AARP Oklahoma's advocacy initiatives on a wide range of issues including family caregiving, long-term care, prescription drugs, healthcare, utilities, guardianship, financial security, fraud prevention and more. Additionally, McGill actively collaborates with volunteers and the community-at-large, sharing resources to effectively advocate for the issues that affect the lives of seniors.
During this episode, President and CEO, Scott Nield, visits with Carol Mathews. As the Founder of Hero Productions, Carol iassists businesses and non-profits in telling their unique stories. Her expansive background in media spans nearly three decades in film and television and her award-winning projects have been featured in theaters across the country and on major cable networks like ESPN and TBN. Carol's focus on non-profits helps hone the messaging, while producing all forms of media to help them further their mission. She also works as a coach and editor for self-published authors.
