Sometimes toy collectors (or really, collectors of anything) may find themselves thinking to themselves “Why am I still collecting?” The question could come from anywhere for any reason and lead to any number of responses. In this episode Tom and Dana discuss why we still collect, maybe some doubts, and whether or not they’ve ever decided to throw in the towel.

A lot of the allure of collecting is getting figures that look cool, but there is always that element of being able to identify at a glance with a particular figure. For a lot of African American collectors, figures that you could immediately identify with were far and few between. Aside from being a cultural phenomena, Star Wars most likely holds some kind of importance for any and all collectors that grew up in the 70s and 80s (and the 90s and the 2000s).
