Soul Stickers is a vehicle to assist you on your spiritual journey in life. It is based on the Kiss method, Keep It Spiritually Simple. It evolves around bumper stickers, based on scriptures. The host and author of this podcast was not involved in ministry. He has been a biofeedback therapist, a business owner, a software developer, a special education teacher, a Core Energy Coach, a husband, a father, a grandfather, a friend, and a follower of Christ.
We are all shepherds if we are mentoring new Christians, leading a Bible study, having children who we watch over as they grow in the Lord. Being an example is an exceptional responsibility. One that should not be taken lightly. If God has entrusted people to you, you will be ultimately responsible to God for their care
Anyone can say they care, but not everyone can put it into action. The two big questions you might have are:
What about the fiery trials of life? How are you fireproofing your life? What buffers are you creating?
I don’t think anyone would argue that this Soul Sticker isn’t a great thing to accomplish in life. People don’t train themselves to be ungodly, that seems to come naturally. But to be godly takes discipline, tenacity, and daily training.
“Fine. I hate that word. One of the most useless words in the dictionary. It's the typical non-answer to everyone's favorite non-question, "How are you?" Just a totally empty word that says absolutely nothing.”
― Leanna Shaw
Stay open to the endless possibilities that God has for you. Don’t get stuck in a rut. God has a thousand different ways to overcome fear and make you fearless.
This scripture brings up a good question: what is the foundation of a godly life? I would like to think that I am living a godly life, but I am not sure how I measure that?
I don't know what you are fighting for in life. But you don't fight alone. God is always watching your back. "There's nothing more claiming in difficult moments than knowing there's someone fighting with you." Mother Theresa
Colossians boldly states, “being strengthened with all power.” This is one of the keys to achieving this Soul Sticker. You don’t develop the endurance and patience you need with just some of the power, or just using the power when necessary. Paul is convinced you need all the power, all the time.
“What is your hope?” If it is security, what does that look like? Where and what is your security based on? A good job, money in the bank, health, happiness, and all the other things we want for the American dream. What happens when you lose your job, or your spouse gets sick?
This is the secret ingredient in the recipe for success in life. If you can be content with what you have, you will enjoy life more than most people do. When you are constantly striving for more, you are making a choice to abandon contentment.
Have you ever stopped and looked closely at your life and thought, "Life is a bummer", things are not working out for me? Maybe you have substituted self-righteousness for Godly righteousness.
You are ultimately responsible for your actions. Learn to scrutinize your own work. Focus your efforts on accomplishing something commendable. Progress is impossible without change, so lace up your hiking boots we are going on an adventure.
This is a short description of how best to use the information in this Podcast series. Remember my goal was to "Keep it Spiritual Simple", so there are some components at the beginning that are extremely simple.
Freedom is a beautiful word. For many people in the United States, we take it for granted. Some people will equate freedom with a lack of restrictions; they can do what they want. That type of freedom can lead to chaos. True freedom has to have some limits for it to work and benefit all people. We exchange our slavery to sin for freedom from sin, and we become pursuers of righteous living. I think that is a fabulous exchange, but it has some restrictions.
Sometimes I look back five years and wonder if I have made any transformable changes in my life? If is easy to talk about change, and the benefits of change, but actually incorporating that change in your life is much more challenging.
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV) This podcast is focused on the "whatever you do" portion of this scripture. I'm not going sugarcoat this Soul Sticker, whatever means everything and that leaves no wiggle room.
