Discuss the Minnesota Vikings predictions from an optimistic, yet realistic approach. This is OUR team, we believe in our team, and this podcast will tell you the WHY.
Thank you for two years of Meet at the Quarterback. We hope to double our listeners going into year three! Listen to our first official 2024 Minnesota Vikings Record Predictions as we go week by week and where we see this team potentially finishing. SKOL.
Meet at the QB discusses who they would rather have at starting QB with all things considering (salary, age, career stats, etc.) Let us know if you agree or disagree with some of our takes.
2024 Viking draft recap episode. Talk about our late round picks and whether or not the Vikings have gotten better this offseason..
It's an exciting day to be a fan of the future of the Minnesota Vikings. Our Vikings elect to keep their two first round picks and select arguably the two most important positions on the football field; JJ McCarthy at Quarterback and Dallas Turner at OLB/DE. Listen to what we thought of these day one picks and our hopes for the future of our Minnesota Vikings.
In preparation for the 2024 NFL Draft we revisit the best and worst Vikings draft classes in that last decade, as well as grade our previous 12 years of 1st round picks.
Hitman takes a pay cut to stay, KJ Osborns Vikings career is finally over, should we trade the house for the 3rd overall pick, or is it merely a crapshoot and we should stick with our two 1st round picks, and finally we close out with our first newly wed Vikings game.
Meet at the Quarterback plays GM for an episode. Let us know whether you agree or disagree with each one of our 1st round decisions in the 2024 draft?
The 2024 NFL season is truly underway .. Vikings say goodbye to some longtime Vikings once again this offseason, as well as sign half a dozen week 1 starters to improve this team. Take a listen and let us know if there are any players you are concerned about or feel we should still go after. SKOL to 2024 and a new Vikings Era.
Our Vikings cut last years starting running back, Alexander Mattison, which puts Ty Chandler as RB1 unless we find someone in free agency. It also is looking more and more likely that Kirk Cousins time in Minnesota has come to an end... we briefly discuss what Kirk's legacy will look like after he is gone..
Meet at the Quarterback hosts bring forth over half a dozen different current free agents they think the Vikings should consider in the open market. There are some players leaving, which results in needing to fill holes on the roster. Let us know if there is anyone we are forgetting or if you really like one of the names we mentioned.
Super bowl 58 recap, Viking "offseason" moves, discussion of the direction this team is going, and what defines a "successful" season, and another end of episode game round.
A fun, different type of episode. We talk NFL news, upcoming Superbowl hopes, and play a couple Minnesota Viking Trivia rounds. How did you do? SKOL.
First Mock episode of the 2024 offseason. Listen and give us feedback if you agree, disagree with some of our draft picks for the 2024 NFL draft.
First stab at what we think the Minnesota Vikings should do during this offseason? Where we need to save money, spend money, what tough decisions we have to make for long-time Vikings? One thing we all agreed to is saying goodbye to KJ Osborn...
How would you grade this season as a whole with all things considered? This team had high potential, started slow, then began to cook, then dealt with injuries upon injuries, finally looked to have it figured out before the defense collapsed. Lots of factors, lots of discussion. Let us know your thoughts!
Back to back two score losses, after 16 weeks without on. Vikings lose the final 4 division games, finishing with our worst record and first double digit loss in over a decade. Regular season is done and now we have 8 months of offseason football to discuss.
Final regular season game, the Vikings head to Michigan to either have their first double digit loss season in over a decade or finish with their third 8 win season in 4 years. Mullens is back, JJ looks to get 1k yards and Addison hopes for double digit touchdowns in likely the final game of the 2023 season.
Essentially completely eliminating themselves from the playoffs, Kevin O' Connell and this injured Vikings Team should close up shop for the 2023 season and embrace their soon to be first 10 loss season in a decade. First cohesive game played by our Vikings, terrible from the Offensive side of the ball and terrible from the Defensive side of the ball. Happy 100th episode of Meet at the Quarterback, however.
You guessed it, another must win game for our Minnesota Vikings to keep any playoff hopes alive. Vikings are starting 5th round Rookie Quarterback Jaren Hall after Mullens 4 INT game verse the Lions. We believe Hall could do what we need him to do to secure a home W against a struggling Packers team. Let's end this year on a high note!
Negatives are that the Vikings continue to shoot themselves in the foot and be their own worst enemies. Positives are backups galore and the Vikings can still compete with any team on any given day. 14th one score game this season.
Vikings host the current NFC North leader, Detroit Lions in their first matchup of the 2023 season. A win clinches the Lions first division title in 10+ years, whereas a win for the Vikings increases their playoff odds to almost 80 percent. Skol Vikes on Christmas Eve.
Vikings offense finally comes back to life, but the turnover woes and redzone ineptness continue. Vikings D makes it 7 weeks in a row without giving up a first half touchdown. Proceeds to give up 3 touchdowns in the 4th quarter. IF this team can play great at the same time, we still believe they could make a deep run. Only fear is that we are running out of time and have yet to see them play great on both sides of the ball, at the same time.
Nick Mullens gets his first start at a Vikings quarterback and hopefully will have a healthy Justin Jefferson to go with his receiving weapons. A Vikings win bumps up their playoff odds significantly and would definitely create a confidence boost being 2 games above .500 as they prepare to host the Lions on Christmas Eve next week. SKOL Vikes!
Josh Dobbs benched, JJ reinjured, Mattison and O'Neil also get hurt and the Vikings do the bare minimum and score 3 points to improve to 7-6 and continue to control their own destiny.
2 straight losses, and your other NFC wild card hunters winning last week puts you back in the position of must win games. Thankfully the Vikings still control their own destiny, but a loss on Sunday could really jeopardize any playoff hopes this team currently has. Lets go VIKES.
Bye week has us grading our Minnesota Vikings 12 weeks into the 2023 season. We grade the offense, defense, overall team, rank our top 5 impactful Vikings and bottom 5 disappointing Vikings. Give a listen!
In one of the worst offensive and Quarterback performances in Vikings history. Division hopes look almost impossible and now you are hoping to finish with 9 wins and a sneak into wild card spot. Tough, embarrassing loss as the Vikings head into over 10 days of no football.
Small chance, but still a chance the Vikings could win the north in back to back seasons for the first time since 2008 and 2009. Lets play above the Bears talent and steam roll them for a two score W on primetime, Monday Night Football. SKOL.
Never fun to lose, especially to Sean Payton and Russell Wilson, but losing to an non-conference and non-division team, is the best loss we could have. Vikings snap our 5 game win streak due to once again conservative play calling and costly turnovers. Give a listen to hear our positive and negative spicy bites.
Our Vikings have won 5 straight, Denver has won 3 straight with wins being against the Bills and the Chiefs. One team will go back to zero after Sunday night, we believe our Vikings will not be that team and improve to 7-4. The best back to back season start since 1999. Lets show up again on primetime with some Dobbs magic!
Our Minnesota Vikings have won 5 straight. We continue to win without JJ, without Kirk, without KJ. Winning games that probably we shouldn't win. But this team is TALENTED and they believe in themselves. If this team makes the playoffs, we believe they could be DANGEROUS.
Battle of two 5-4 NFC teams match up for week 10 at US Bank Stadium. Longtime listener and bigtime Viking fan, Cole Williams joins Meet at the Quarterback to share his perspective and offer some BIG predictions. Let's get this win streak to 5. SKOL.
This team believes in one another and fights for every single win, every
single week. Newly acquired, back-up Quarterback, Joshua Dobbs creates 3
touchdowns in the Vikings best offensive game of the 2023 season. Keep
the wins coming as we host New Orleans next week.
First legit game without Kirk Cousins in almost 6 years. For the remainder of the 2023 season our Minnesota Vikings will be exploring what life is like without a consistent quarterback. Something we didn't truly know from 2005 - 2017 and now something we have forgotten over the last 6 years. A silver lining for sure with Kirk going down is getting a taste for what life will be like with experimenting. Sunday will be the first test.
What should have been an incredibly exciting two score win on the road vs NFC North Rival, the Green Bay Packers has turned into anything but at Vikings lose starting, and MVP caliber Quarterback, Kirk Cousins to a season ending Achilles injury. Lots of ? continue for the Vikings finishing out week 8.
Hoping and believing the vikings can keep the wins coming and continue to increase our chances at making the playoffs, and dare I even say, winning the NFC North? It is not out of question, yet. Give a listen to this pre-game episode as Minnesota crosses the border and plays rival packers for the first time this year. SKOL.
The best game the Vikings have played all season comes against the best team they played all season. Never trailing, the Vikings beat the San Francisco 49ers 22-17 at home thanks to Kirk's precision, Jordan Addison breakout game, the offensive line giving up ZERO sacks, and the defensive holding CMC to essentially nothing on the ground. Season is not done yet, SKOL.
7 pt underdogs at home, Minnesota Vikings host the 5-1 San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football. Kirk is 0-8 vs football teams that are not the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football. San Fran is looking to not lose 2 straight games since early 2022, whereas the Vikings are looking to not start 0-4 at home for the first time in Franchise history. We will see what Monday brings.
A win that borderline felt like a loss. A single offensive touchdown verse one of the worst defenses in the NFL and yet ANOTHER one score win for our Minnesota Vikings did not distill the confidence this team could make any kind of run that we are desperately looking for. Still a win at the end of the day, but man was it an ugly one.
Battle of the two worst NFC North teams has conflicting opinions for Meet At The Quarterback hosts. Some believe we should just call it a year and keep losing to get a top draft pick and our future QB. Others are not 100% sold this season is a wash given the continued turnovers and one score losses. Opinions might shift in about a month depending what route this weird Vikings team takes. SKOL.
Worst start to KOC young coaching career and now Justin Jefferson might miss significant time with a hamstring injury. There still are some things to be optimistic about and you will have to listen to find out.
A month into the season and our Vikings sit at 1-3 with too many failed opportunities and mistakes and now host the reigning super bowl champions, Kansas City Chiefs. Season could have a very different narrative with a win on Sunday and like always we will be rooting for that to be the case.
An ugly offensive game was enough as the defense allowed ZERO touchdowns to secure a one score win vs a terrible Panthers team. There is still significant work that needs to be done and we have an uphill battle to climb until we are a belivable team, however a win is a win and it certainly feels good to get that first one of 2023. SKOL.
Even our optimism might struggle if our Vikings lose to the winless Carolina Panthers and start our season 0-4. If our offense can put the ball in the endzone (seems like an obvious statement) this team will be tough to beat. JJets is not writing off this season, so neither should YOU! Skol baby.
Undoubtedly one of the more embarrassing losses in recent memory, from the perspective of the Chargers essentially gave the Vikings a good opportunity to win and the Vikings said "no thanks". Season is far from over but this team has to become better, cleaner, and stop allowing dumb mental errors and costly turnovers ruin their chances to win. Still SKOL!
An early preview for our Vikings week 3 matchup vs the LA Chargers in Minnesota. Offense needs to be clicking to take advantage of this poor Chargers defense. Hope for and expect lots of points for our Vikings first win of the 2023 season. SKOL
3 first half turnovers, 2 backup offensive linemen and 250+ rushing yards allowed on defense are terrible ways to try and win a football game against a very good football team. And yet you lost by one score. This team was weird last year and they continue to be weird this year with playing bad football but still having opportunities to win. Tough start to the 2023 season but far from over especially with everyone in the NFC North losing on Sunday.
Thankful for a short Vikings week and another opportunity to play to our potential. Vikings go to philly for a very difficult match up but definitely a possibility to win if they play like we expect, and on paper, should play. We talk about what we must do to secure our first win of 2023. Skol Vikings!
A very embarrassing and disappointing loss for our Minnesota Vikings to start our 2023 season. Listen to our debrief of who underperformed, how we lost this game, who who surprised us, as well as, of course, spin some positivity on this incredibly tough first loss. Give a listen!
It is officially Minnesota Vikings football season. Listen to our new episode with a new agenda flow, where we share our expectations for this week 1 matchup against the Baker Mayfield led Buccaneers, what concerns and fears we might have in this game, and of course our game outcome predictions. Give a listen and share with others!
We discuss who we think will make the team, start, get cut, and if we will make any last minute additions to this 2023 Vikings roster. Give a listen to see how close we are to predicting the 2023 Vikings depth chart.
We believe the defense will be better in 2023 under Brian Flores and many young guns. But how much better do we think they will be and who will be some of the defensive difference makers? Listen to find out!
We put down our official 2023 Vikings offense predictions. How does Kirk do entering a contract year? Does Jordan Addison live up to his 1st round potential? Does JJ become the first NFL Wide Receiver to reach 2k yards? How does Alexander Mattison play in his new role? And does this Vikings offense land in the top 5 overall offensive ranks in YPG and PPG? Listen to find out our thoughts!
Listen to our breaking news episode talking about Danielle Hunter's 1 year $20 million deal. Curious if you think this is a good, average, or bad deal. Let us know!
Talking about the new retro Viking jerseys, Jordan Addison incident, and what we should do with Danielle Hunter's contract.
Meet at the Quarterback invites their father, and undoubtedly the man who began all three of our journey to Viking's obsession. Erik talks how he became a Vikings fan, his best and worst moment as a fan, WHY after 45 years of no championship he still believes/roots for this team, and even shares a pretty cool story of how a terrible Viking moment turned into a special and unique opportunity. Give a listen to this episode featuring our second guest!
May 18, 2022 the greatest podcast was created.. jk, but we have officially been posting for now a full calendar year with this being our 61 episode. We love doing this podcast, hopefully people love listening, but are proud and blessed to be celebrating a year of Viking Podcast news. Oh we also give our early season, record predictions now that the 2023 Schedule is out. What is the number of wins you are expecting for our 2023 Minnesota Vikings?
We talk about what Kirk Cousins HAS to do in 2023 in order to receive a contract extension in the years to come. Agreement up until the NFC Championship game is as far as we got. We are curious what your thoughts are.
We grade the 2023 Minnesota Vikings Draft Class, talk about what undrafted free agents we are excited about and make some early predictions for what 2022 Vikings might be fighting for a job next season.
Vikings add to their offensive weapons by drafting USC, wide receiver Jordan Addison with the 23rd overall pick. Addison was the 4th straight wide receiver selected in the 1st round. An interesting similarity to Justin Jefferson in 2020 NFL draft, as he was the 4th wide receiver selected at 22. Lets hope Addison can bring the same level of talent that we have seen from JJ thus far.
We share what we think the Vikings will do, what we want the Vikings to do and then had a full 7 round Mock Draft to select our 2023 Vikings Draft class. Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be super interesting to see!
Meet at the Quarterback makes very early season record predictions, as well as dive deep into what the Vikings should do in this years draft and years to come. "Friendly" debate breaks out about whether or not have a top 10 draft pick is a shoe in for being a successful team.
Meet at the Quarterback invites longtime and one of the first listener of Meet at the Quarterback, Lucas Manke for a little Q & A, as well as a new/fresh perspective on some of the Vikings offseason decisions so far in 2023. During this offseason we will be inviting more guests to share their story and provide a fresh perspective, so feel free to reach out to us if you would like to be on the next Meet at the Quarterback podcast episode!
Breaking down the recent Viking free agent signings, cuts, restructures, and grading the offseason a week into the new 2023 NFL season.
It was most likely going to come, but still comes as a surprise to not see #19 wearing purple for the 2023 Vikings season. Two team captains now cut, freeing up $16 million in cap space. Still some more cuts and potential trades to happen, but we thank Adam Thielen for his amazing 9 year career with the Minnesota Vikings.

Listen to our episode explaining why this move makes sense and other cuts and restructures we expect to happen over the next few days.

Tough, tough episode to record, following a tough loss to watch.
