Welcome to "Dear Young Queen: Work In Progress," where hosts Ashley Weatherspoon and licensed therapist S. Tia Brown delve into the most engaging topics, quotes, and moments from previous episodes of the Dear Young Queen podcast.

This week, Ashley recaps the latest episode featuring the incredible Krystal Vega. Krystal isn't just an on-air host—she's a powerhouse managing three thriving businesses. From Fortune and Forks, empowering women of color, to Cositas, a beauty brand with travel cosmetic essentials, and her groundbreaking e-guide "Map to Media" for aspiring on-air talents.

In Krystal’s episode, one moment really caught Ashley's attention. Krystal's innate hustle, shaped by her roots as a native New Yorker and the contrast of her with a more balanced work life since moving to Miami.

This resonates deeply with Ashley, who acknowledges her own tendencies to push herself to exhaustion. She shares her struggles with being a workaholic, shedding light on the reality that work addiction is a genuine condition often misunderstood in today's digital age.

While workaholism may serve as an escape from personal issues, it can significantly impact relationships and mental health. Ashley, too, grapples with anxiety about the future and the fear of not doing enough.

Join us as we explore the complexities of work addiction, its effects on mental and physical health, and how these challenges impact ambitious young women striving for success.

Live from the cozy confines of #CasaLex, the women delve deep into the powerful narrative of friendship, mental health, and unwavering support.

Mel & Jihan share a bond that began in middle school and has weathered the test of time. However, success came hand in hand with challenges, as it unveiled an array of unresolved issues within Mel.

Together, they found strength in vulnerability and founded SoMypolar INC, a non-profit organization committed to raising awareness and eradicating stigmas surrounding mental health. From riveting discussion panels to shedding light on the essential role of caregivers, Mel & Jihan embarked on a mission to change the conversation.

Their latest creation, Tatu’s Adventures, a children’s storybook series, brings their journey to a younger generation. The inaugural book, titled 'Don’t You See,' narrates Mel's earliest encounters with delusions at just five years old, providing a profound understanding of her mental health evolution.

Her firsthand account serves as a beacon of hope, demonstrating that even in the darkest moments, triumph is possible. It is an honor to have Mel & Jihan on the show, proving that women can not only survive but thrive through any adversity.

This week on Dear Young Queen: The Podcast, your hosts Ashley Weatherspoon and Alexis Stoudemire are coming to you live from #CasaLex with HBCU graduate, mom, wife, friend, realtor, and “Pull up Queen” Ashley Wheeler.

This sharpshooter shares how her father and an ROTC scholarship taught her the importance of knowing your way around a gun. Alexis & Ashley Wheeler dive into their personal choices on supporting the right to carry.

Ashley was a commissioned officer in the Army for 8 years until her husband, retired NFL linebacker Phil Wheeler, came in and swooped her off her feet. After getting married and having her second child, she was inspired to enter a bodybuilding competition. It didn’t take long before Ashley was competing (and winning!) which she describes as the biggest test of discipline in a very toxic, dangerous industry.

As they do on every episode, Ashley & Alexis ask Ashley Wheeler about a few of her “firsts” and “lasts,” but unlike every other episode, a potty break turns into a conversation about golden showers and it’s obvious these three ladies are really friends. There’s tons of fun girl talk including their thoughts on grown men playing video games, Bank of America errors, and even a therapeutic moment on ending friendships as adults.

This is an episode you won’t want to miss.

With no guest in the hot seat, the ladies finish off with a quick rapid fire game that proves that Alexis clearly is the more decisive one around here.
