Pretending to Be Me is an open invitation into the inner life of human existence. It’s an opportunity to see behind the curtain, wrestle with our brokenness, and come out confident and victorious. It is an invitation to then integrate that inner life with the outer life, no longer seeking to curate an image or wear a mask. You and I were not made to wear a mask. God gave you a face already! It is an invitation to bravery, to bare our souls before the God who sees us and to experience his healing presence in the face of it all. This is not just for our own sake, but also for the sake of others. As we authentically encounter God, we begin living out of our own authentic selves. As we do that, we inspire others to do the same. In this way, we become Overcomers; as we allow him to heal us, we become more of who he created us to be in a beautiful cycle of hope and courage.

Welcome to this special Resurrection Sunday episode of the Pretending to Be Me Podcast, a safe space where we explore the intersection between authenticity, faith, and love. Today, we will dive into the story of Gideon, an inspiring figure in the Bible who teaches us the significance of fear, faith, and vulnerability in finding our true selves and living authentically in Christ.

Gideon was a man who lived in a time of oppression and uncertainty. He was deeply afraid of the Midianites, who had been plundering the land of Israel for seven years. Despite his fears, Gideon was faithful to God and willing to follow His call. When God called him to lead an army against the Midianites, Gideon was hesitant and felt unqualified. However, he did not let his fear stop him from following God's plan. Instead, he trusted in God's power and followed His commands, even when they seemed to go against his own logic.

In our lives, we may experience fear and doubt, and it can be easy to try to hide our weaknesses and struggles. However, just as Gideon was honest with God, we too can be vulnerable with Him and trust in His plan for our lives. When we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, we create a space for God's grace to enter into our lives, and we open ourselves up to deeper relationships with God and others. Living an authentic life in Christ requires us to embrace our vulnerabilities and trust in God's plan, even when it doesn't make sense to us.

We begin by discussing how society often misinterprets the phrase "male and female created He them," and how this affects the way we view God's prototype of a man. We then explore the characteristics of God's prototype of a man, including divine likeness, dominating license, daily livelihood, and law-abiding nature.

We also discuss the importance of vulnerability and transparency in reflecting God's character and nature. Being authentic and vulnerable allows God's power to work in us and through us, and creates a community of support and encouragement that can help us grow and overcome challenges.

Finally, we talk about the importance of following God's commandments and the need to take charge of our lives and stop living in defeat.

As men, let us embrace God's prototype of a man and strive to be authentic, vulnerable, and fully human. Let us dominate difficulties, seek help when we need it, and trust in God's guidance. May we follow His commandments and find comfort in His loving embrace.

He also discusses how being true to ourselves, our values, and our beliefs can give us the clarity and focus we need to pursue our goals and make our ideas a reality. He also emphasizes the importance of having faith in ourselves, our ideas, and something greater than ourselves, to provide us with the strength and resilience we need to overcome obstacles and stay the course.

Throughout the episode, we discuss practical tips on how to cultivate authenticity and faith in our lives and how these qualities can help us in our personal and professional lives. We explore how authenticity can help us build genuine connections with others, and how faith can provide us with a sense of purpose and meaning.

Finally, we offer advice on how to apply these principles to our ideas and projects, and how to keep them from dying on the vine. We discuss the importance of being patient and persistent, taking risks, and being willing to adapt and change course when necessary.
