'Just A Couple Of Nerds' features us, Valor and Cherish, as we discuss nerd pop culture in all forms of media. From comic books to major motion pictures, we've got nothing better to do but throw out our half-baked takes on all of it. We've been together for most of our lives and these conversations have been happening on the living room couch for years now. So why not record it? Our dog can't be the only one that enjoys the sound of our voices.
We aren't shy about spoilers. But we start every episode off with nerdy news. So you can always stay tuned to the first section and stay up to date.
Our episodes have now hit double digits!!! For our 10th episode we are talking about the HBO hit series 'The Last Of Us'.
But first the news; the new animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies has a trailer out, we found another musical to talk about based on Lord of the Rings, there's a Madame Web movie coming, Marvel's What If is creating an original superhero, and Beetlejuice 2 has a new potential star. It's a little light on the news compared to the last couple of weeks but ah well, send us a message to let us know if you need more news.
Our main topic today has been a favorite show of ours for a couple of months. The Last Of Us has become a hit for HBO and once it ended, we had to do an episode about it. We recorded this the day of the last episode's release, but there's been a lot going on in our lives and we had to put off editing the episode until now. But we go over our 3 favorite episodes, which are the same 3 episodes but we rank them a little differently. We also discuss the ending, so this is your warning... SPOILERS. But if you're a regular listener than you already know that we don't hold back on spoilers.
Thank you to everyone that's been listening to us as we move down this podcasting journey and giving us feedback. If you'd like to write us then do it at justacoupleofnerds@outlook.com.

We recently watched Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and we have as many opinions as there are characters in that movie. So be prepared. As normal, SPOILER ALERT. We do talk about different characters and plot points in the movie that may or may not spoil it for you.
Our news portion is a little larger than normal. We begin with news about Warner Bros. making some Lord of the Rings movies, there's a new Avenger's musical coming to Disneyland, Stranger Things has a play debuting in London's West End, we update you on DC and Marvel's upcoming summer comic series, Spirited Away the play is coming to theaters, Netflix has a cozy feeling Pokemon series coming out, Liam Hemsworth's newest lawsuit might reveal some news about his current Witcher role, and finally, Dune: Sisterhood may be ending before it even begins. Yea, like we said, it's a lot.
We both came out of the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania with similar but opposite opinions. Bottom-line, it's not great but it's not awful. Just spoiled the episode for you, but it was a fun talk and we try to touch on our favorite and not-so-favorite moments. So take a listen and enjoy!

We have been wanting to talk about this show for a while and if you've listened to our other episodes then you know we've already been mentioning it. But the second season is out, we binge watched it, and it's time to discuss!
News this week consists of a new Harry Potter movie in the works, a delay in the Marvels movie, a Lord of the Rings collaboration with Magic the Gathering, Viz Media offering a ton of free content on Youtube, Ant-Man 3's ratings, Call of Duty coming to Nintendo, A24 auctioning props from Everything Everywhere All at Once, and finally, Netflix is going to be offering some new games for free with membership!
Our big discussion this week is over Amazon Studio's own animated show, the Legend of Vox Machina. We briefly discuss the origin of the show but quickly just go all over the place. Much like the show's protagonists, we don't follow a straight path and let our conversation go on organically. FYI there are some SPOILERS but honestly, the show is so good that even if we told you the entire plot it would still be worth the watch.
Thank you to everyone that's been listening to us starting this podcasting journey and giving us feedback. If you'd like to write us then do it at justacoupleofnerds@outlook.com.

WE'RE BA-ACK!
It's been a while since our last episode, but the holidays came along and we set the podcasting aside for a minute to spend time with family and friends. Now we're setting the family and friends aside to bring you another episode!
Holy Daily Bugle Batman... there's been a lot of news! To start off we got some comics in politics, then some Disney news, a new Lego set is coming, some bad news about one of the creators of Rick and Morty, the Neilson ratings, and a John Wick 4 update. After the shorter stories we have two big new updates. First we go over the latest 5 year lineup for Avatar the Last Airbender and Avatar Studios and then we move into the big James Gunn announcement regarding the future of the DCU.
After all the news is done we gotta start the year off with everything we are looking forward to in 2023. Cherish and I break it down into categories and our favorite pick for each.
We just want to thank everyone that's been listening to us starting this podcasting journey and giving us feedback. If you'd like to write us then do it at justacoupleofnerds@outlook.com.

It's the last day of 2022! As we get ready to make our New Year's resolutions, half of which will inevitably be abandoned or forgotten, we figured it was a good enough time to look back at everything we watched and read this year.
The news is a little light this episode, but it starts off with 2 bits about upcoming Avatar Studios projects (not the blue kitty people), then there's an animated Stranger Things show in the works, the Witcher creator makes some statements regarding the end of Henry Cavill's appearance, and it's all topped off with some comic news mixing DC comics and Stan Lee.
After the news we go over the list of shows that ended, had endings announced, or that were just cancelled this year.
Our main portion of the show is dedicated to our own favorites list for the year. The list is: Movie, Live-Action TV Show, Animated TV Show, Hero, Villain, Comic Book, and Special Shout Out. We hid our choices from one another, so we got a nice little surprise at hearing each other's picks.
We just want to thank everyone that's been listening to us starting this podcasting journey and giving us feedback. If you'd like to write us then do it at justacoupleofnerds@outlook.com.

Good day to all Daikinis, Nelwins, Brownies, and Fairies. This week we talk about the 1988 classic, Willow, and the new series that follows the movie.
News this week goes over a new project of Henry Cavill's along with some changes to an upcoming movie that were supposed to cameo him and Gal Gadot, big changes in the Pokemon animated series, an upcoming Spiderman supervillain movie, a new Super Mario World opening soon, and a soon to be released Hogwarts video game.
Of course we start our Willow talk off by discussing the movie. We share our first memories and impressions, as well as go over what we think of it. Next we move onto the Disney series, which has yet to be fully released! We've only watched the first 4 but by the time we finished producing this episode, the 5th one released. We aren't going to go back and rerecord because... well, we're kinda lazy.
Also, at a certain point during the discussion of the series our computer fan got really loud and we didn't notice. We're really sorry but we don't have the skills necessary to properly fix that. So skip it or figuratively squint your ears to hear through it.
Anyways, thanks for listening and feel free to write us at justacoupleofnerds@outlook.com

Fourth episode is here and she's something to fear! We are talking about the comic book 'Something is Killing the Children'.
The news this week talks about a few new tv shows coming out, a recasting in Rings of Power, some news about the Boys series, a quick Marvels movie update, and some big shake ups in the DC Universe.
We also go over our recent visit to LA Comic Con and some of our highlights from that experience. There's a lot of comparison between it and San Diego Comic Con, but that's our home convention. It was inevitable. We both still recommend LACC, we might even prefer it depending on what you are looking for at a Con.
Our big talk today goes over the critically acclaimed comic book series 'Something is Killing the Children'. We recently read through the entire collected run (volumes 1-5) and have fallen in love with this horror/conspiracy tale. James Tynion has done a great job creating a world that you feel actually exists. Full of multi-dimensional characters that ground the narrative. But don't just read it here, listen!
We hope you enjoy the episode and as always, thank you for listening!

The third episode of JACON is here! Three is supposed to be a magical number and in this episode we discuss a very magical show.
First up, the news this week goes over the ending of the Walking Dead, an update to an upcoming Adventure Time series, some big news about comic book and Pokémon card collecting, and money talk over Avatar: the Way of Water and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. There's always so much more we want to fit in, but we try to keep it varied and narrowed down for everyone.
This is our first episode going over an animated show, Netflix's the Dragon Prince. Now we watch a lot of animated tv, probably more than any adult likes to admit, and this show has grown a special place in our hearts. It was created by Aaron Ehasz, the head writer of the ATLA series, and contains plenty of parallels with his old work without being repetitive. The fourth season of the show recently dropped after a couple of years off and has received plenty of mixed reviews. We definitely have our own mixed feelings that we go over in this episode. So grab a box of jelly tarts and listen in as we discuss the Dragon Prince.

Second episode is here and she's big! Either we're getting more comfortable with this or we haven't learned when to shut up.
We start the episode with the news again. There's a little bit of DC comics news, gaming world updates, Marvel TV tidbits, and another passing of a legend, Jason David Frank. We hope to not bring you this type of news every week, but when someone that really affected our lives growing up passes away, we're gonna talk about it.
The meat and POH-TAY-TOES of this episode are dedicated to our recapping and reviewing of two amazing shows, House of the Dragon and Rings of Power. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the walk down recent memory lane as we talk about our favorite and not-so-favorite moments from each show.

Welcome to the first episode of Just A Couple Of Nerds! This is our first real go at the podcast. We've still only got one mic and haven't set up a proper sound room, but screw it! You've gotta start somewhere and this is it.
We will be starting off every episode with some nerdy news. This week we acknowledge the passing of Kevin Conroy, give some opinions on the passing of the Witcher's sword, and give the release date of the upcoming Avatar the Last Airbender animated movie.
The second half of the episode this week is our recap and review of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. We loved the movie and kinda can't stop gushing over it. We've got a couple of points we think could have been better, but they're acceptable faults.
We hope you enjoy our first episode and feel free to write us at justacoupleofnerds@outlook.com
