On this day over 2,000 years ago, Jesus was betrayed by one of His friends, handed over to Pontius Pilate for crucifixion, stripped naked, beaten, and humiliated. He then carried His own cross to Golgotha and died for the sins of the world. However, because of this day, we have hope. Today, we celebrate because Jesus Christ, by his death, conquered sin and death. That is why we call it Good Friday.
