You may have seen her on our platform already, especially on Instagram as she has created amazing comics for us- meet the newest member of our team, Adrienne! We talk about how Adrienne comes to embrace her mixed-race identity, her interests, social issues, moving from different countries….and more. We also discuss the questions that come up that are hard to answer:

• “Should I speak up or not?”
• “Can I speak up if I’m mixed and half white in this space?”
• “I’m Asian…does that mean I can speak on Black problems?”

…and the ultimate question:

“Why are we (predominantly East Asian women) sensitive and afraid to speak out?”

Elementary (primary) school system

• First grade: age 7
• Second grade: age 8
• Third grade: age 9
• Fourth grade: age 10
• Fifth grade: age 11

Middle school system

• Sixth grade: age 12
• Seventh grade: age 13
• Eighth grade: age 14

High school system

• Freshmen: age 15
• Sophomore: age 16
• Junior: age 17
• Senior: age 18
