Haim Rafalowski, the national disaster management coordinator of Magen David Adom Israel, said that Israeli assistance to Turkey would comprise of search and rescue teams as well as a large army field hospital. Paramedics of Magen David Adom were expected to depart for Turkey this afternoon. He told reporter Arieh O’Sullivan that the normal 72-hour window to rescue trapped people was much, much shorter due to the weather conditions. He added that the devastation in Syria was likely more worse than Turkey and that there would likely be major medical needs for the entire population in the affected areas in the months ahead.
