It came amid lingering threats that Hezbollah would retaliate for the killing of its top military commander last month. Dr. Jacques Neriah, a senior researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs and a former policy adviser to prime minister Yitzhak Rabin, said that the revelation was a move to deter Israel from attacking it.
