Can exercising help boost your thyroid? The short answer is yes, but only if you are doing it the RIGHT way.
Too little exercise will have no benefit on your thyroid while overexercising may lower your free T3 and total T3.
How does exercise benefit your thyroid? In 3 main ways:
If you have thyroid issues you should also be careful to overexercise. Overexercising can increase your cortisol levels and lower your free T3 and total T3 levels.
You'll know if you are overexercising based on how you feel (more in the video). You should stick to moderate intensity exercises as well as sustained low-intensity exercises.
Exercises such as yoga, strength training, walking, and moderate intensity exercises are ideal for most people.
