What is Righteousness? It is when you are so grateful to God that you do right by Him. Righteousness also includes a spirit of excellence. You are righteous not out of obligation, but out of gratitude. We contrast Christianity's emphasis on gratitude with the emphasis on fear of many other religions. Matthew 6:33 shows that we must, "seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and then all of these things will be added unto you." These things include love, joy, peace, prosperity, and much more.
Is your marriage all about how much you can get out of your spouse? If so, watch how quickly it will crumble. If you want success in this or any area, you must first seek the righteousness of God. Again this is when you are so grateful to God that you do right by Him!
