Christianity is not a feeling but rather a deeply rooted understanding. There is no use having confidence without the character. Jesus might get you into a storm so that He can teach you how to get out of the storm. Spiritual maturity then allows you to discern between good and evil. We should spend time with Jesus to become more like Him and become teachers of the Word as Scripture says we ought to be.
