Security guards have been manning the front door throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Should they be vaccinated at the same time as other essential workers? I speak to both management and the union. There are four times as many security guards as police officers and they are often interacting with people even more.

We are essentially at the front of the front line — before you get into the hospital, into that store, into that bank, nine times out of 10, there is security there, playing the role of enforcement, crowd control, health and safety compliance, and engagement with the crowds.”
