I recieved a book in the mail today, and have already sat down to dive in. It’s by Nic Edwards and Brian Whitney, The Delphi Murders, the quest to find “The man on the bridge” I just looked up at a screen to see that my sister messaged me. I’d told her about the book, sent her a pic of the cover, and had started in.

She said, “Enjoy your moments of get away, hugs.”

That brought back memories. I’d started reading voraciously as a child. I’d read everything and anything I could get my hands on. Including the Bible. It was the only book that I couldn’t be grounded from. Even the text books I had, I’d read cover to cover, and though my grades weren’t good, I still remember the info.

That punishment, being grounded from reading, was to bring me back to the present. To force me to be ‘there’. Where I was being daily abused, and screamed at. I still bear the physical scars. Today, the privilege of being able to sit down and read a book that I bought and paid for is huge.

Meanwhile, a book is waiting for me. My former step=mother was a psycho bitch from hell. Life goes on. -L
