Gospel Reflection–Fr Mark De Battista–Good & Evil Side-By-Side (This week’s Gospel features three parables but the one that Fr Mark focuses on is the one about the weeds being sown in the wheat crop, or sometimes known as the Darnell parable. it's a real question for us in our lives to wonder, why does God permit good and evil side by side? Why doesn’t he just exercise his sovereignty and eradicated evil so that the good will have a chance to flourish? it's not just subjects of the Kingdom and subjects of the evil one that exist side by side, but rather that good and the evil exist in each one of our hearts, and we constantly need to be uprooting the weeds from our own hearts and allow the Holy Spirit to enable us to keep up the struggle, keep up the daily effort so that we’ll see the Kingdom grow within us.)
