International pressure is mounting on Israel as this terrible war drags on, and more people suffer. The announcement that President Biden gave laid out a multi-phase plan that would end with a full exchange of remaining hostages and a withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza. This plan, though still on the table of discussion, is being stalled, as Hamas is insisting on numerous changes before it accepts it, including provisions it had already agreed to in past negotiations. Egypt, America, and Qatar are all diplomatic players trying to do the heavy lifting of diplomacy and prevent this war from continuing, and even spreading to Lebanon and other places in the region.
