In survey after survey, large majorities of minority and working class communities are coming out in favor of school choice, or the idea of giving parents tax money to help send kids to educational institutions outside the public school system. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) held a virtual roundtable on school choice yesterday, where he and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice talked about why that is. And for supporters of public schools, it raises important questions about what sorts of issues need to be addressed so parents have confidence in their local schools and teachers feel valued.
