“A Great gardener does not pull every weed.”

My father used to tell me that a great gardener does not pull every weed that pops up in their life. In order to cultivate and grow personally and professionally, it is almost impossible to pull every weed in your world.

I learned and practiced how to scale back some, macro manage and delegate rather than micro managing everything in my life.

This concept of work style has allowed my diverse companies to continue to grow with better quality. I am viewing them altogether, and on a grander scale. It has also helped me enjoy my personal life more.

This subject makes me think of my maternal grandparents, Benjamin Franklin and Susie Ethel Johnson. They were such an influence over my life growing up. I spent many days with my grandparents outside in their garden, gathering or planting vegetables, depending on the season. When I think of my childhood, I think of helping them with their garden, climbing apples trees, and the “ring” of my grandmother’s banjo as she played Cripple Creek!
