Turn to Exodus 15:23 where Dr. Mitchell resumes the lesson concerning the tree thrown into the bitter waters which made the water sweet and drinkable at Mara.

It is noted that in the book of Ruth, Naomi asked that she be called Mara, bitter, because of the adverse circumstances the Lord brought into her life.

In Hebrews 12:15 we are exhorted: “Look carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by it many become defiled.”

Bitterness can affect one’s health both spiritual and physical. Jesus the Lord is Jehovah Rapha, our healer.
