Chapter 25 of Matthew, verses 1 thru 13 begins the parable of the ten virgins.

Five were wise and five were foolish. They were waiting for the bridegroom to come so as to accompany him to the marriage to His bride.

There was a period of sleeping followed by a shout of awakening.

1Thess.5:4-5: “So let us not sleep as the others do, but let us keep awake and sober.” Rom.13:11 says “..the hour has come to awake out of sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed.”

Dr. Mitchell asks, What is our attitude to be concerning the coming of our Lord? Is it one of daily expectation?
