As we continue with Jesus’ predictions of His coming again to the earth, we are in Matthew 24:45-51.

In this passage, Jesus speaks of two kinds of servants doing two different activities with two different results.

One is faithful, one is wicked. One is feeding the household, the other is drunken and beating fellow servants. The one is blessed when His Lord returns and rewards him. The other, not looking for his Lord, will be assigned a place with the hypocrites and it’s associated anguish.

Dr. Mitchell explains this passage not as regards salvation but concerning the character of the Lord’s servants. He asks you and me whether we are looking and waiting for our savior. It could be today.
