Hello Hive! Back again with another digital art blog! Last time, I wrote about inverted art where I made a colored pencil drawing from a reference photo that I got from Unsplash. I've already made around five posts last week since being inactive for months. This time I hope, I can hang around more and share my creative works. Online classes are also still up, kinda in the middle of the semester and loads of works to do. Still, I make time to write and create art. Anyways this blog is about another digital art that I made - already weeks ago, along with a 3-minute timelapse video.Semi-realistic approach...I only use ibisPaint X to do all the digital portraits I've made. Most of them look semi-realistic since honestly, I don't really know how to do pure shapes. I've also seen a lot of vector art done in that style and it looks so good. I'll might have to learn that in the future though if I have the resources. Also, I'm using airbrush tool as my main brush that's why the results are mostly the same soft skin effect.Personally, I prefer semi-realistic approach. It feels really amazing after doing all the layers and stuff and seeing the results after. The realistic feel to it is enough to make you pause and stare at the work. As for this portrait that I made, I had some pauses going through the process just by looking at it, and since I also had to take screenshots. Below are the progress snips of the vexel portrait that I'm talking about, and some run through captions to help explain the process. Hope you like it!

Hello! Back again with a new art blog! I'm actually quite busy right now academically, since I'm still in college. I'm guessing, this online class is kind of molding a new definition of the word 'hectic'. Hmm... though despite that, I can still manage to make time writing blogs by scheduling the tasks I need to do. Making sure that l catch up with the deadlines while also still do something productive here.It's okay to trace...I just said that because I'm an artist who rely mostly on guidelines. I always use grids on my traditional drawings - on portraits. As for digital ones, I trace it. So, does it make me less of an artist - because I trace? For me, no. I mean, art has a lot of variety and drawing without guide is indeed a good practice. For some, tracing may be cheating but to me it's really not. I've already heard a lot of words about tracing being less of an art. I mean, in terms of digital art. It doesn't bother me anymore now. As long as I do my best at every piece that I do and try to improve everytime.

Vexel ArtBy the way this is a commission piece for someone I know online. Great thing about ibisPaint is that it automatically records the entire process and can be easily exported to mp4 ranging from 10 seconds up to 3 minutes.

Hello! I just started doing digital works again on my phone. It's been long since I last did a digital portrait and I made a blog about it - that one was posted on Steemit. I've only done digital art using my phone ever since, so I'm used to navigating paint apps on a 5.5" screen. Anyways, I've also been just used to using ibis Paint X since forever. It's also my go to app whenever I'm editing images or doing some poster projects.

Getting back to using this app, It was still very familiar and I had no problem navigating the tools. Also I find ibisPaint so much easy to control. The way the brush size and opacity size can be adjusted right at the bottom of the canvas and the color swatches can be also easily accessed. I don't know about the other apps but ibisPaint is perfect to me if not just for the limited variation of brushes it has. All fun came back to me when I started doing this painting and I had so much fun pouring colors back on a digital canvas. Oh, also I'll be mainly using the airbrush tool for this one.

By the way, the portrait I'll be doing is of one of my closest friend, Avery. I asked her for some photos for me to paint and I picked this one.
