Beyond Judgement is a show dedicated to the understanding that we are all connected. To remind ourselves that judgement only exists to divide us. My aim for this podcast is to celebrate the stories of ordinary people and demonstrate that we are more alike than we are different.

We weren’t born into wisdom. Knowledge has to be acquired through trial and error. Experiencing failure and standing up, repeatedly if necessary. Gaining and strengthening skills through practice. Much like Samuel Becket opined β€œEver tried. Ever Failed. No matter. Try again. Fail Again. Fail better.Β

Episode 2 is a continuation of my conversation with my niece Courtney along with a revisiting of FFT and my thoughts on the first episode. As well I include additional strategies around reducing judgment and instead of a meditation I dive into some breath work that will have you moving into the parasympathetic nervous system, a good tool for reducing stress.

Beyond Judgment is a show dedicated to understanding that we are all connected, that the only purpose that judgment serves is to divide us. My plan for this podcast is to celebrate the stories of ordinary people and by doing so help you the listener get to know someone you might not otherwise get to know. We are all living lives invisibly around each other taking part in many cases as an extra in each other's stories. The aim of this show is to demonstrate that we are more alike than we are different.

The theme of this week's episode is FFT or effing first time.

We aren't born into wisdom, knowledge has to be extracted through trial and error, through failure and getting back up and building experience through practice. There truly is a first time for everything. This is my first podcast episode. Is it perfect, nope but as Theodore Roosevelt once said "The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena". I am in the arena and it might be a bumpy ride for a short time but I'm fully confident that over time the mistakes I hear in this episode will disappear and I will be better for it.

We know that when we are first starting out with something, no matter what it is, that we will stumble but the only way we truly fail is if we abandon what we are working towards.

This week I had the privilege to sit down with my niece Courtney for a wide ranging discussion about her life thus far. We talked about her early years, her transition to teaching, adventure which underpins her experiences, the community that she has developed and lessons learned along the way.

This episode is packed with life lessons, quotes to live by, strategies to reframe how we approach life's obstacles, and the power of mediation as well as so much more.

I invite you to subscribe to the show so that you don't miss an episode.
