When you first think about starting a business, it’s easy to assume the most challenging part will be the strategy. The website. The pricing. The legal paperwork. The never-ending list of tasks makes entrepreneurship feel like climbing a mountain in the dark.

And while those things matter, yes, you do need a way to get paid, a way to attract clients, and a service that makes sense, they’re not the real foundation of success.

The truth is this: Mindset is 80% of the journey. Strategy is only 20%.

If you don’t shift your identity, you can’t build the business you dream about.

Why Identity is the Foundation of Business Success

I’ve worked with numerous medical professionals, nurses, therapists, physician assistants, and holistic providers, who felt ready to leave the system and start their own businesses. They wanted freedom, alignment, and the ability to work on their own terms.

Almost every one of them came to me with the same challenge. They were still seeing themselves as just a provider.

Here’s the thing: You can’t build a six-figure business if you still see yourself as someone who simply trades hours for dollars. You can’t attract aligned clients if you still carry the belief that you need permission, validation, or someone else’s system to succeed.

That’s not a business owner identity. That’s an employee identity.

Entrepreneurship is a whole new world. It’s about shifting how you see yourself, what you believe is possible, and how you choose to show up every single day.

The 80/20 Rule of Business Growth

Let’s break it down:

  • 80% Mindset / Identity WorkThis is about how you see yourself, what you believe you’re capable of, and whether you allow yourself to step into being the CEO of your life and business.

  • 20% Strategy / TacticsThis is about the systems, tools, and steps that support your identity shift.

Yes, you need to know how to set up payment links. Yes, you need to know how to communicate your offer. But these pieces are meaningless without the right mindset driving them.

Think about it this way: You could have the most beautiful website in the world, but if you don’t believe you’re worthy of being seen, you’ll never share it.

You could have the perfect pricing structure, but if you still harbor the belief that “I can’t charge that much,” you’ll undercut yourself and stay stuck.

Strategy without a mindset is like putting gas in a car with no engine. It looks good, but it doesn’t go anywhere.

How Successful Entrepreneurs Think Differently

The biggest difference between someone who stays stuck and someone who thrives isn’t their skills; it’s their identity.

Successful entrepreneurs see themselves as:

  • Leaders, not employees. They don’t wait for permission; they give themselves permission.

  • Creators, not followers. They understand that business is built from their vision, not someone else’s blueprint.

  • Investors, not just workers. They know that investing time, energy, and money into growth is how businesses expand.

  • Resilient, not perfect. They expect challenges and see them as stepping stones, not failures.

This isn’t about becoming someone you’re not. It’s about uncovering the version of you that’s already been waiting to step forward and be the one who knows you’re here for something bigger.

My Own Identity Shift

When I left the military and later the healthcare system, I thought I just needed a plan. I knew I was smart. I knew I had the work ethic. So I assumed that once I had the right steps, I’d be fine.

What I didn’t realize was how much my identity was still rooted in being a “soldier” or a “provider.” My nervous system was wired for survival and performance, not for freedom and creation.

I had to ask myself:

Who am I, if I’m not defined by a uniform, a license, or a system that tells me what to do?

That was one of the most challenging questions I’ve ever faced. And it’s also the most liberating.

The day I started seeing myself not as an employee of a system, I became the CEO of my own business; everything shifted.

  • I stopped looking outside for validation.

  • I stopped undercharging for my expertise.

  • I stopped hiding behind “being busy” instead of being visible.

And that shift in identity, before the systems and marketing, was what opened the door to building a business that truly aligned with my purpose.

The Belief That Creates Visibility, Income, and Traction

Here’s the belief that changes everything:

“I am not just a provider. I am a business owner. I am a CEO.”

When you truly embody that belief, everything else flows.

  • You stop being afraid of visibility, because you know being seen is how people find you.

  • You stop underpricing your work because you know your value isn’t measured by hours, it’s measured by transformation.

  • You stop waiting for the “perfect time,” because you realize the perfect time doesn’t exist.

This belief is what allows you to create traction in your business. It’s what shifts you from thinking small to thinking big, from surviving to thriving, from following to leading.

A Powerful Shift to Embody Your CEO Identity Now

If you want to start shifting your identity today, try this simple practice:

  • Ask yourself daily: “Who am I choosing to be in my business today?”

  • Am I choosing to be the overworked provider, or the confident CEO?

  • Anchor into the future version of yourself.

  • Imagine yourself one year from now, running a successful, soul-aligned business. What do they believe about themselves? What decisions are they making differently?

  • Take one aligned action every day.

  • Whether it’s reaching out to a potential client, recording a video, or setting up a system, do it from the belief that you are already the CEO.

When you live into this identity, strategy becomes a tool, not a lifeline. You’ll find that the actions you take actually work because they’re aligned with the way you see yourself.

For Healthcare Professionals Stepping Into Entrepreneurship

If you’re a nurse, therapist, PA, or holistic provider, the leap into entrepreneurship can feel intimidating. You’ve been trained to care for others, often at the expense of yourself. You’ve been taught to follow rules, protocols, and systems that don’t leave room for your own vision.

This is your time.

The world needs healers who build businesses that are sustainable, purposeful, and aligned with their souls.

Your identity as “just a provider” has gotten you this far, and it won’t carry you into the future you’re meant to create.

  • You are more than your credentials.

  • You are more than your job title.

  • You are a visionary entrepreneur.

Final Thoughts

Starting a business isn’t just about learning how to market, price, or deliver services. Those things matter, and they’re only 20% of the picture.

The real work is in shifting how you see yourself. In moving from “I’m just a provider” to “I’m the CEO of my own business.”

That’s the foundation of building a six-figure, soul-aligned business.

And the question I want to leave you with is this:

What belief are you shifting in your business journey right now?

Learn about the retreat here: https://www.startingabusinesssimplified.com/virtual-retreat

To the medical professionals stepping into entrepreneurship. This one’s for you.
You’ve spent years, maybe decades, pouring your expertise and heart into patient care. However, as you transition into business ownership, pricing your services feels unfamiliar. Maybe even uncomfortable.

You’re not alone.
Many former nurses, therapists, and clinicians I work with struggle to answer the question:
What is my work really worth outside the system?

Today, I went live with Kelly Marshall, one of the guest speakers for the upcoming Vision to Action Virtual Retreat. In just 10 minutes, we opened up a conversation that goes far deeper than dollars and spreadsheets. We talked about:

  • How to set prices that reflect your true value
  • Why undercharging isn’t humble—it’s a symptom of unhealed scarcity
  • The bridge between healing your relationship with money and building a profitable, purpose-driven business

Kelly brings the wisdom of deep soul healing and the clarity of lived entrepreneurial experience. Together, we are creating a space where your gifts, your story, and your pricing can align with integrity and impact.

If you’ve been wrestling with how to price your offerings, especially after a career of being told what you’re “worth,” this retreat was created for you.

3. Expert Insights and Hands-On GuidanceOur retreats bring together a blend of practical strategies and inner work. You’ll gain insights from guest speakers (for virtual retreats) and participate in workshops focused on everything from content creation to energy alignment.

4. Personalized Action Plan and Follow-Up SupportAt Business Simplified, the real work begins when the retreat ends. That’s why we’ve built follow-up calls into our retreats to help you stay accountable and progress consistently. This ensures you’re never alone as you implement your action plan.

My Retreat Journey: Inspiration, Challenge, and Transformation

Years ago, I attended a retreat that was both inspiring and energizing. I was excited to return everything I had learned and started back to my business during the retreat. When I got home, the reality hit—I was entirely on my own.

There was no follow-up support for this particular retreat, which left me feeling isolated and unmotivated to continue the work I had started. That initial excitement and momentum quickly faded, and I felt stuck.

A connection I made during the retreat changed everything for me. Another attendee and I decided to become accountability partners. We set up regular check-ins, supported each other’s progress, and kept each other motivated. This simple yet powerful partnership became a game-changer for me and my business.

That experience shaped how I designed the Vision to Action Retreats at Business Simplified. I didn’t want anyone to feel the way I had—alone and unsure of the next steps after the retreat.

That’s why every retreat includes follow-up calls for accountability and progress check-ins. These calls are designed to ensure no one feels left behind and that the momentum you gain during the retreat translates into lasting progress.

What sets the Business Simplified Vision to Action Retreats apart is the combination of an inspiring retreat experience and ongoing support to help you bring your vision to life.

On this episode of Starting a Business Simplified, host Suzy welcomes guest Therese Tarlinton, Author of the book "SWAP Marketing without Money", to discuss the power of collaboration in business. Therese emphasizes that collaboration is not about merging businesses or financial partnerships but about surprising and delighting their mutual customers. They highlight the importance of having fun, being authentic, and discussing likes and dislikes to find complementary skills in a bartering system. The goal is to merge these skills to create an amazing customer experience and foster growth for both parties.

Therese proposes the idea of a membership where a box of gifts is assembled for members every quarter, with the cost of the box included in the membership fee. Collaborating with different businesses, these gifts could include items like candles, books, protein balls, chocolates, and information on new foods or nonalcoholic cocktails. The aim is to nurture the person behind the business, show gratitude, and evoke surprise from members, creating a positive experience and fostering loyalty.

The conversation also explores the opportunity for service providers to collaborate with different products. Therese shares her own enthusiasm for energy healing courses and collaborating with other owners. They discuss expanding services to include retail products and how service providers often overlook retail due to their focus on service offerings. They stress the importance of differentiation and thinking outside the box to find products that align with clients' needs.

Collaboration is shown to help businesses stand out, increase reach and credibility, and potentially lead to more profit. It also provides support for solo business owners. The episode emphasizes the need to think differently in marketing, understand uniqueness, align with complementary individuals and services, and provide the best experience for clients.

The overall goal of Suzy and Therese is to provide tools and support for those starting a business and to see as many small businesses succeed as possible. Therese's big audacious goal is to come to America and speak to thousands of small business owners. They encourage invitations from associations, communities, groups, or events and share their audiobook, small course, book, and availability for speaking engagements.

Throughout the episode, the importance of collaboration, creativity, and thinking differently in business is emphasized. Suzy and Therese encourage listeners to pursue their passions, turn them into lifestyle businesses, and make a positive impact on their clients and communities.

In this episode of "Starting a Business Simplified," Nova Beltran and Suzy Wraines discuss the topic of high functioning anxiety and depression. Suzy highlights the importance of having a coach or mentor when starting a business or going through personal transitions, emphasizing the need to take care of oneself before helping others. The focus of the episode is on high functioning anxiety and depression, specifically targeting individuals who may be functioning well in their daily lives and may not realize they have underlying mental health issues.

Nova, drawing from her experience as both a coach and therapist, explains that high functioning anxiety and depression can be easily hidden or difficult to detect. It may not appear as severe as major depressive disorder or panic attacks, but it can still have a damaging impact on a person's life if left unchecked. She notes that individuals with high functioning anxiety and depression often excel in their achievements, but their over-functioning and constant pushing can contribute to their anxiety and depression.

The conversation delves into the symptoms and indicators of high functioning anxiety and depression. For depression, Nova mentions feelings of going through the motions of life, difficulty concentrating, lack of joy in activities, flat affect, sadness, loneliness, anger, irritability, disconnection, fatigue, low energy, hopelessness, low self-esteem, negative self-talk, and engaging in numbing activities. Despite experiencing these internal struggles, individuals with high functioning anxiety and depression may appear present and engaged in their daily tasks.

Suzy relates to the discussion, sharing her own experience of high functioning anxiety and depression while dealing with PTSD from her deployment in Iraq. She admits to normalizing her struggles for nearly 10 years and pushing through without seeking help, ultimately experiencing exhaustion and needing time to decompress on her days off.

The episode serves as an important reminder to listeners that even when they are seemingly functioning well, it is crucial to be aware of their mental health and seek support if needed. It emphasizes the significance of recognizing and addressing high functioning anxiety and depression to prevent them from escalating to more severe levels.

In this episode of the Starting a Business Simplified podcast, Jackie Cote discusses the importance of hiring a coach and investing in oneself when starting a business. She emphasizes that in the new world of limitless possibilities, where any desire can be turned into a business, it is crucial to shift from a traditional employee mindset to that of an entrepreneur.

Jackie highlights the need to change the belief that one should only invest in a business after it starts generating income. Drawing an analogy to a brick-and-mortar restaurant, she explains that just as one must invest in the building, food, and employees before making any profit, the same principle applies to online businesses.

She shares her entrepreneurial spirit and the way she took ownership of her work, even within corporate settings. Jackie believes in the importance of mindset and inner work, stating that one must believe in and invest in themselves to become successful business owners. She emphasizes that the investment in a coach or personal development is an investment in oneself and the core of one's business.

Jackie and Suzy discuss the transformative power of hiring a coach, acknowledging that the decision to invest in oneself brings about an energetic shift and helps individuals become the powerful version of themselves. They advise listeners to choose the right coach by researching, listening to podcasts, and finding someone who resonates with them.

The conversation delves into the idea that personal growth is an ongoing process for business owners. They stress the significance of embracing personal change, continuously learning, and evolving as an entrepreneur. Jackie encourages individuals to be authentic, as being true to oneself attracts the right people and creates a unique client experience.

The episode concludes with Jackie explaining the importance of reconnecting with one's inner child and embracing imagination and possibility. She emphasizes that freedom, whether in entrepreneurship or a traditional job, is an inside game and can be achieved by being true to oneself and manifesting desired outcomes.

Welcome back to "Starting a Business Simplified" with your host, Suzy Wraines. In this episode, Suzy delves into the topic of limiting beliefs, which frequently hinder new business owners from progressing. She explains that limiting beliefs can affect various aspects of life, relationships, and business without one even realizing it.

Suzy distinguishes between conscious and unconscious beliefs. Conscious beliefs are those we are aware of, constantly thinking about, and understand their significance. On the other hand, unconscious beliefs can be triggered by our nervous system and serve as a protective mechanism. These unconscious limiting beliefs might have originated from past experiences or ongoing stressors that we haven't resolved or let go of.

To illustrate the power of limiting beliefs, Suzy shares a personal example. As a business owner, Suzy recognizes the importance of speaking up to promote her services and connect with potential clients. However, she discovered an unconscious belief that speaking up would lead to rejection or disapproval. Subconsciously, she had developed a self-protective mechanism to avoid situations where her ideas might be rejected or disliked, causing her to hold back and not express herself fully.

While this might seem contradictory since Suzy hosts a podcast where she talks all the time, she explains that she has been working through her limiting beliefs with the help of a coach. Suzy emphasizes the significance of having an external coach or support system to navigate through personal, health, or business-related limiting beliefs. They provide valuable reflections and insights that facilitate growth, healing, and transformation.

As part of her own development and certification program, Suzy now offers others the opportunity to work through their limiting beliefs, particularly regarding their businesses. She highlights a process called transpersonal energy healing, which she has personally experienced. This technique helps individuals tap into the original root cause of their limiting beliefs, whether from a single event or multiple stressors over time.

Suzy's coaching journey allowed her to uncover the childhood circumstances that initially led her to suppress her voice. Throughout her life, subsequent experiences further reinforced this belief. By addressing the root cause and using transpersonal energy healing, Suzy was able to work through her limiting belief and gradually overcome her fear of speaking up.

In future episodes, Suzy promises to share more insights from her personal growth journey and the positive impact that working through limiting beliefs can have on one's business and personal life. She encourages her audience to consider seeking external support in their own journeys and emphasizes the transformative power of letting go of limiting beliefs.

In this episode of my Starting a Business Simplified podcast, I want to share some personal realizations and insights I've had recently. One of the biggest realizations is the significance of self-love. I've started practicing self-reflection by journaling and setting aside quiet time just for myself.

During these moments, I ask my essential self, "What do you need?" and I listen attentively to the voice within me. It consistently responds with a powerful message: "Love me." I strongly believe that our essential selves are spiritual beings filled with love, and when we truly experience this love, it brings a positive perspective to every aspect of life. By viewing everything through the lens of love, frustrations and annoyances start to fade away, leaving space for excitement and joy in my business and daily experiences.

Another realization that has had a significant impact on me is the practice of gratitude. I express gratitude for even the simplest things, like witnessing a beautiful sunrise, having a comfortable place to sleep, or being able to record episodes for my podcast. Currently, as I look out my window, I am in awe of the beauty of springtime—nature's renewal with green leaves and birds chirping. It has become a daily ritual for me to express gratitude both when I wake up and before I fall asleep. This practice helps me recognize and appreciate all the wonderful aspects of my life.

I also acknowledge that life is a rollercoaster ride with its ups and downs. Experiencing a range of emotions, both positive and negative, is a natural part of growth and self-awareness. During low points, I've developed techniques to regulate my emotions. I delve inward, asking my essential self why I feel bothered or low, and I seek answers from within, listening to my inner wisdom. I want to encourage my listeners to take moments of quiet reflection amidst the busyness of life. We often forget that we possess the answers and guidance we need without always relying on external sources.

Moreover, I discuss the fascinating connection between our body's energy and our emotions. I highlight how excitement and fear produce similar physiological responses, such as a quickened heartbeat and faster breathing. Understanding the ebb and flow of energy within ourselves allows for a deeper awareness of our emotional states. I strongly advise listeners to turn off external distractions and simply sit in silence for a few minutes. This act of reconnecting with our inner selves can be truly transformative.

To sum up, this episode emphasizes the significance of self-love, gratitude, and self-reflection. By embracing love, looking at the world through a loving lens, and expressing gratitude for the blessings in our lives, we can find joy and fulfillment in our businesses and daily experiences. I urge my listeners to find moments of stillness and self-awareness, allowing them to tap into their inner wisdom and effectively regulate their emotions.

In this podcast episode, I want to share my personal experience with Neville Goddard's teachings on the power of imagination and manifestation. I had always been fascinated by the law of attraction and the ability to manifest my desires, but I struggled to truly understand how it all worked.

After discovering Neville Goddard's teachings, I began to see real changes in my life. I started imagining my desired outcomes in great detail, feeling as though they were already real. I stopped worrying about the physical steps I needed to take to make my desires come true and instead focused solely on the imagined state.

As I continued to focus on my imagination, I noticed a series of events, or what Neville Goddard calls the "bridge of incidents," that led up to the fulfillment of my desired state. One example of this was meeting Kathleen Cameron through my business coach. I had been thinking about expanding my network and connecting with like-minded individuals in my industry, and shortly after, my coach introduced me to Kathleen. It seemed like a chance encounter, but I recognized that it was a direct result of my intense focus on my imagination.

Through this experience, I learned that the key to manifestation is not to focus on the physical steps that need to be taken, but rather to focus on the imagined state and trust that the universe will bring about the necessary events to make it a reality.

Overall, I hope that my experience serves as a reminder of the power of imagination and manifestation, and how we can all use these tools to create the life we desire.

Let's continue our conversation about intuition today. Last time, I mentioned that I was inspired to start a series on my podcast about intuition. So, I want to share with you some details on that, and how I came to this decision.

I spoke with my coach about my social media presence and my podcast episodes. We talked about how most of my content is very business-driven and mechanical, with tips on how to start or improve your own business. I've realized that I tend to think in a more masculine way, focusing more on strategy rather than sharing who I am and what I'm about.

Later that day, I had a conversation with a friend who is also my business partner. She helped me identify some of my limiting beliefs, and how they affect me when I feel anxious or stressed. I tend to have a pattern where my energy leaves my body, which makes it hard for me to feel grounded and connected.

One of my limiting beliefs is that speaking up and being heard is scary, as it makes me vulnerable and may cause others to dislike me. This belief stems from childhood experiences and was reinforced during my time in the army, where speaking up could be dangerous. However, I've realized that it's okay to speak up, and I'm working on overcoming this fear.

So, when I feel anxious or uncomfortable, I tell myself that it is healthy for me to be here, in my body, speaking my truth. I hope that sharing this with you can inspire you to recognize and work on your own limiting beliefs. Thanks for listening, and see you next time!

In this episode, we're joined by Lori McBride, a successful entrepreneur and Gen Xer, who shares her insights on how her generation approaches technology in the context of building and growing a business. As Lori explains, Gen Xers have a unique perspective on technology, having grown up in a time when technology was rapidly evolving.

One of the key differences, she explains, is the amount of information that is readily available to Gen X entrepreneurs. Unlike previous generations, they no longer have to memorize everything or rely solely on personal connections to build their businesses. Instead, they can access a wealth of information at their fingertips, allowing them to make more informed decisions and execute their plans more effectively.

However, this abundance of information can also be overwhelming, and Lori discusses how Gen Xers need to balance the benefits of technology with the potential drawbacks. In this episode, we have the pleasure of sitting down with Dawn Foster, an expert in branding and marketing. Throughout our candid chat, we delve into the complex world of branding and marketing, exploring the nuances and differences between the two concepts.

As she explains, a brand is not just a logo or a catchy slogan. It is a reflection of a company's values, personality, and reputation. A brand encompasses everything that a company represents, from its visual identity to its customer experience. In other words, a brand is the perception that customers have of a company.

On the other hand, marketing is the tactical execution of a brand strategy. It involves developing a plan to communicate a company's brand message to its target audience through various channels, such as advertising, social media, and public relations. Marketing tactics are designed to generate interest, build awareness, and ultimately drive sales.

Throughout our conversation, Dawn emphasizes the importance of understanding the difference between brand and marketing in order to develop an effective brand strategy. By building a strong brand foundation, companies can create a lasting connection with their customers and differentiate themselves from their competitors. And by executing a well-planned marketing strategy, they can effectively communicate their brand message and drive business growth.

In this podcast episode, I wanted to share with you my journey of creating a coaching program and how I realized that something was missing. I started with creating a 12-week program to help people start their business through a workbook, and it did get the job done, but I still felt that something was missing.

January 2023, I decided to hire a coach for myself for the first time, and it was amazing. It helped me do the internal work that I needed to do, and I discovered my purpose of speaking directly to women leaving a medical profession to start a business. I understood that there are thousands of people out there who need help starting a business, but my people are the ones going through what I did.

I'm going through the process of learning about myself, and it helped me to present my true self energetically so that the right people who need my help will find me. I'm reaching out to the medical community, specifically women, because I'm a woman, and I understand their struggles.

I'm sharing my story as I'm still learning about myself, and I'm learning how to look within to know what to present to the world and how to better help my clients and listeners of this podcast. I hired a coach, and it was the best investment I ever made. I recommend investing in a coach if you find the right one for you. If I can't help someone, I refer them to someone who can.

In conclusion, my journey of creating a coaching program and discovering my purpose has helped me to understand that investing in a coach is the best investment you can make when you find the right one. I hope this episode inspires you to look within yourself and invest in a coach to help you reach your full potential.

In this episode I share with you my journey through my personal experience in business. When I started out in my early twenties, I entered the corporate business with just a high school diploma. However, I had a natural gift for problem-solving and creating new systems, and I always felt drawn to looking at a problem and seeing the end result that needed to be accomplished.

With the guidance and encouragement of my supervisors and colleagues, I excelled in corporate positions such as sales, forecasting, and budgeting. I was also very good with spreadsheets, and I could figure out formulas, track progress, and see metrics to paint a picture for the future. I truly believe that we are spiritual beings in a human body, and my spiritual side already knew how to do these things. I didn't need to go to school to learn them.

Despite my success, I felt like I needed a degree to prove my knowledge. So, I joined the army in 2002 as a medic after 9/11, even though my original goal was to do veterinary medicine. I was scared and nervous about the physical and mental challenges of basic training and learning medicine, but I trusted my intuition.

In this episode of my podcast, I want to encourage you to trust your intuition and faith in yourself, just like I did. I believe that we all have a spiritual side that already knows what we're good at, and we just need to listen to it.

In this episode of the "Starting a Business Simplified" podcast, host Suzy Wraines discusses the top three characteristics of a successful entrepreneur.

First and foremost, Suzy stresses the importance of being true to yourself. As an entrepreneur, it's easy to get caught up in what others are doing and to feel pressure to conform to certain norms. However, Suzy argues that the most successful entrepreneurs are those who stay true to their own unique vision and values. By being authentic and genuine, you'll be better equipped to connect with your customers and build a loyal following.

The second key characteristic of a successful entrepreneur, according to Suzy, is the ability to know your own thoughts. This means being self-aware and able to identify your own strengths, weaknesses, and areas for growth. By understanding your own thought patterns and tendencies, you can better navigate the ups and downs of starting a business and make decisions that align with your goals and values.

Finally, Suzy emphasizes the importance of taking action. While it's important to have a solid plan and do your research, nothing beats taking action and putting yourself out there. Whether it's launching a new product, reaching out to potential customers, or networking with other entrepreneurs, taking action is key to building momentum and achieving success.

Throughout the episode, Suzy shares her own experiences as an entrepreneur and offers practical tips and advice for listeners who are just starting out. By focusing on these three key characteristics – being yourself, knowing your thoughts, and taking action – you'll be well on your way to building a successful and fulfilling business.

In this episode, we will discuss an important aspect of starting a business - determining the cost of starting a business. Many entrepreneurs struggle with figuring out how much money they need to start their business, which can lead to financial difficulties down the road. However, by creating a list of expenses and researching the cost of each item, you can get a clear idea of how much it will cost to start your business.

Start by creating a list of all the expenses you will need to start your business, including equipment, supplies, rent, legal fees, marketing expenses, and more.

  • Research the cost of each item on your list, either by looking online, asking suppliers, or talking to other business owners in your industry.
  • Be realistic with your estimates, and don't forget to include any unexpected expenses that may arise.
  • Once you have a total cost for starting your business, consider how you will finance it. Will you use your savings, take out a loan, or seek investors?
  • Remember that starting a business is not just about upfront costs - you will also need to plan for ongoing expenses, such as rent, utilities, and payroll.

By taking the time to determine the cost of starting your business, you can avoid financial surprises and set yourself up for success. Creating a detailed list of expenses and researching the cost of each item is a crucial step in the planning process, and will help you make informed decisions about how to finance your business.

In this episode I'm chatting with Olivia Clare founder of The Integrator Agency and host of The Crystal Vision Podcast. We are discussing creating a business vision. She shares her three step process to creating a business vision.

Creating a business vision can be a daunting task for those just starting out. To help make the process easier, here is a three-step approach: Create, Cultivate and Incarnate.

The first step is to create a vision. Think of it as a destination, or a checkpoint. Having a goal to work towards provides motivation and direction.

The second step is to cultivate the vision. This involves breaking down the vision into smaller, achievable steps and establishing the necessary habits, structures and systems to bring the vision to life.

The third and final step is to incarnate the vision. This is where you take action and bring the vision to life. It requires dedication and perseverance, but if you remain focused and consistent, you can achieve your vision.

Our guest, Britt Pergl, is a social media expert and Instagram consultant who will be sharing her insights on how to make the most of the algorithm and use it to your advantage.

One of the things that sets Instagram apart from other social media platforms is its algorithm. It's constantly changing, and it's designed to favor those who try different things. As Britt explains, this means that you can experiment with different types of content and see what works best for your audience. For example, you can try posting a photo one day and a collection of photos the next, and then analyze the analytics to see which one performed better.

Another advantage of the Instagram algorithm is that it allows you to learn from your mistakes. If you post a photo that doesn't get the engagement you were hoping for, you can archive it or delete it, but you can also learn from it. By looking at the analytics, you can see what worked and what didn't, and then adjust your strategy accordingly.

One of the key takeaways from this episode is that Instagram is a platform that encourages experimentation and creativity. As Britt says, "At any point, you can try something different," and that's what makes it so exciting. Whether you're a business, an influencer, or an individual, you have the opportunity to test different types of content and see what resonates with your audience.

In conclusion, this episode of Instagram Insights with Britt Pergl was packed with valuable insights on how to make the most of the Instagram algorithm. We hope you found this episode informative and empowering. Thank you for tuning in, and don't forget to subscribe to our podcast for more Instagram insights and tips.

Welcome to this episode of starting a business simplified. Navigating the shift. As you've noticed, there may be a few changes that you're seeing in the podcast, or you're hearing coming up in the future. When you start a business, you have a business idea and you get excited about it and you start working on things.

And the one thing that's always consistent in having your own business. Is change. You're going to be changing and growing and doing all these things to improve over time. As you learn and grow and know what is needed in your industry. That's what's happening with the podcast. So I'm going through a shift right now.

My background is in medical. And one of the main reasons that I started a business was to be able to have flexibility in hours. Get out of the medical field. And do something that I loved that gave me more freedom. And gave me the ability to still care for people and help people in the way that I'm passionate about.

And so for that purpose, I'm going to be shifting a little bit in the direction of the podcast. It will continue to give. All kinds of advice and have guests that have started businesses. We're going to continue to talk about starting a business and all of the things that you need to know in order to start a business.

But the shift is going to be, as it says, in the name, navigating the shift. I'm going to be speaking to. Medical professionals. Who are transitioning into starting a service business. Where they're leaving a high stress environment with very little flexibility. Very demanding schedule.

I am still here for you. No matter what business you're in. I will always be here to support you and help you in starting a business. Feel free to reach out to me. Anytime you can find me on social media. Facebook Instagram, LinkedIn. Send me a message. I'm always open. To helping.

So with that being said,

Welcome to the new. Starting a business simplified, navigating the shift.

Starting a business can be a daunting task, especially when you're on a tight budget. But it doesn't have to be impossible. In this episode of "Money Matters: A Financial Education with Sheri Michele", we discuss tips and strategies for starting a business on a budget.

First and foremost, it's important to get a mentor. Having someone who has been through the process of starting a business and can offer guidance and advice can be invaluable. They can help you navigate the challenges that come with starting a business and provide a sounding board for your ideas.

Another great resource for learning about starting a business on a budget is YouTube. There are countless videos on the platform that cover everything from business planning to marketing and sales. Take the time to search for videos that are relevant to your business and learn from the experts.

In addition to YouTube videos, reading books on the problem you need to solve can also be helpful. There are countless books on starting a business, and many of them offer practical tips and strategies that you can use to get started.

Another important aspect of starting a business on a budget is to find a buddy at the same level you are. Having someone to share the journey with can make the process less intimidating and more fun. You can support each other and share ideas and resources.

It's also important to find a mentor one level higher than you. This person can offer more advanced advice and help you grow your business to the next level.

Lastly, it's crucial to pick a problem to solve. Starting a business is about solving a problem for your customers, so it's important to pick a problem that you're passionate about and that you believe you can solve.

In this episode, Sheri goes into detail on each of these tips and shares her own experience and insights on starting a business on a budget. We also talk about the importance of having a money mindset and how to separate your business from your personal finances. In this episode, we explore the topic of discovering your "why" when it comes to starting a business. We discuss the importance of having a clear purpose and understanding the motivations behind why you want to start a business.

One of the first things to consider when starting a business is your reason for doing so. What is it that drives you to want to start a business? Is it the potential for financial gain? The desire to be your own boss? The opportunity to make a positive impact on the world? Whatever it may be, it's important to have a clear understanding of your motivations and to be able to articulate them in a way that is meaningful to you.

Having a clear purpose for starting a business can serve as a powerful motivator, especially during the challenging times that all entrepreneurs will inevitably face. It can also serve as a guiding light, helping to keep you focused on your ultimate goal, even when the road ahead seems uncertain.

In addition to providing motivation and direction, having a clear purpose can also help to attract the right team members, customers, and investors. People are naturally drawn to businesses that align with their values and that are working towards something greater than just making a profit. By clearly articulating your purpose and the impact that your business will have on the world, you can attract like-minded people who will be excited to work with you and invest in your vision.

Another important aspect of discovering your "why" when it comes to starting a business is understanding the problem that you are trying to solve. By identifying a specific problem in the market and developing a solution, you are more likely to create a successful business. Identifying the problem and understanding your target customers can also help you to find your niche and create a unique selling point.

In summary, having a clear purpose and understanding the "why" behind starting a business is crucial for success. It can serve as a powerful motivator, attract the right team members and customers, and help you to make a positive impact on the world. Take the time to explore your motivations and the problem you want to solve, and you'll be on your way to starting a business that truly matters.

Welcome to the Entrepreneurial Rollercoaster, an episode dedicated to the ups and downs of business ownership.

Starting a business can be an emotional journey, and it's important to know that you're not alone in your feelings. When I first began my own business, I experienced a wide range of emotions - fear, overwhelm, excitement, joy, and disappointment, just to name a few. Some days, I was filled with energy and excitement to work on my business, while other days, I wondered why I had even taken on this venture.

But through it all, there were a couple of things that helped me stay the course, no matter how I was feeling.

First, having a plan. This may sound simple, but having a plan in place to guide my business decisions and actions was crucial to my success. And second, leaning into my emotions.

When I felt excited or energized, I would take on tasks that I didn't necessarily enjoy, using that energy to tackle them more easily. And when I was feeling tired or discouraged, I would focus on tasks that I enjoyed, that gave me a sense of "fun" in my business. This kept me moving forward, even on the days when I didn't "feel" like it.

Having a plan allowed me to work through the natural emotions that come with owning a business, instead of becoming stuck or giving up. And by leaning into my emotions, I was able to use them to my advantage, rather than allowing them to hold me back.

Starting a business is a rollercoaster, but by having a plan and leaning into your emotions, you can navigate the ups and downs more easily. So, don't give up, stay the course, and join us on this podcast journey as we talk more about the entrepreneurial rollercoaster.

In this episode I will be having a conversation with Kelly Harris, an entrepreneur who knows first hand what it's like to jump in and take action even when it isn't perfect.

Starting a business without perfection is an achievable goal for any aspiring entrepreneur. In the age of digital technology, it’s easier than ever to create a platform and get your product or service out into the world. However, many entrepreneurs struggle to take the leap because they want everything to be perfect before they launch their business.

This practice often leads to procrastination, self-doubt and inactivity – this isn’t conducive to success! The best way to move forward is by taking action that isn’t perfect; creating an email list, engaging with customers or even just writing down ideas are all great steps towards progress.

The effects of taking action can be hugely beneficial for entrepreneurs – not only does it help build confidence through experience but it also encourages creativity and movement towards one’s goals.
