Welcome to Keeping It Kind With Kind At Heart Meditations.

These meditation episodes are recorded in order to help us cultivate more space and awareness in order to come close to our inner presence.

Isn’t it a powerful thing that we are able to stop. We are able to pause time. We can at any moment bring silence within. We can stop and check in with ourselves. We can stop and reframe our perspectives. We can stop and step into the version of ourselves we long to be. We can stop and look to the sky. We can stop and listen to the birds. We can stop and admire the trees.

We are given any moment to pause within ourselves. When we are feeling overwhelmed we can pause and take time to slow down our  mind. When we are frustrated and upset we can pause and allow ourselves to notice our emotions rather than become them.

Take this moment to just stop and pause. Feel into your environment. Feel into your body. Feel the sensation of your breathe. We have the power to be able to make a choice. We are able to choose the way we handle this present moment, right here, right now. That decision to stop and bring yourself back to awareness is all we need to do to get to know ourselves more deeply

I hope you enjoy this Kind At Heart Meditation.

Welcome to Keeping It Kind With Kind At Heart.

Today on the podcast we are talking about how we can learn to show up our authentic selfs.

I think we can all agree that learning to be authentic isn’t easy and is a life long journey, we are constantly changing and evolving, we are highly influenced by the outside world and the people around us.

On top of that we have all of our behavioural patterns as well as habits, traumas and conditionings. It’s not an easy task to work through all that in order to live our most authentic selfs.

A lot of how actions, thoughts and feelings are unconscious and we don’t always know why we do the things we do or where they come from. A lot of us things that it’s just who we are, without realised a lot of our expression is connected to a deeper place within us.

Many of them are coping strategies that we unconsciously created in order to help us navigate through the world however that may of looked during our childhood.

It’s not until we start to do shadow work that we’re able to piece the dots together and build a more clear image of who we things we are, and who we actually are. This inner journey isn’t an easy one and will be incredibly doubting, because we will have to look under all the blankets of ego in order to bring them from unconscious to conscious only then we can start to dissolve all the barrie’s that get in our way of us living an authentic life.

We need to put ourselves in environments and around people that challenge us in order to create awareness around the way we react and respond. We need to cultivate a safe space for the unconscious to come to the surface and inquire into it with complete curiosity.

We have to let go of judgment for what might show up even if it’s uncomfortable. A therapist/coach/mentor/friend can help guide us on this deep dive into getting to know who we are, and most of the time it’s vital that we are guided in order to reflect and contemplate without getting tangled up in things that may not serving us in the best way.

Remember that learning to become more authentically you is a journey and not a goal. We’re always learning and discovering more about ourselves and it will constantly change.

Be compassionate towards yourself, and look at everything with curiosity without imprisoning yourself into even more masks of who you think you are.

Thank you for listening and reading this episode.

Welcome to Keeping It Kind With Kind At Heart.

Episode recorded 30/08/2020.

Today on the podcast we’re talking about healing family relationships. This podcast episode is very special to me, as i am having a very powerful beautiful conversation with my mum.

We delve into the past and have an open, honest dialogue about our experiences during times that were very difficult for us. It has taken me a lot of work in order to get to this place where i can look back with acceptance and compassion. Sharing these vulnerable conversations are never easy but i believe by having them we create a safe space for people to ponder on their own family relationships.

As i have mentioned on previous podcast episodes it has taken me a long time to learn to accept myself and my family, so many traumatic events lead me to always trying to run away from my life, i left to go travelling a good few years and i left not just to travel but also to escape.

In the last few years I’ve done a lot of soul searching and realised a lot about my experiences and stories, and learnt to change the narrative around them, so i was able to let go and heal. I am now able to reflect back and piece together a bit more accurately of why things may of unfolded the way they did, it’s allowed me find closure and forgive. It’s also allowed me to see the purpose of the darkness and how much light and power them experiences have given me.

I feel fortunate enough to be in a place where i can now hold an open heart towards my family and start to heal and mend them broken relationships, because if i wasn’t able to look at them differently i would still be trying to avoid and suppress my experiences which would of kept me trapped.

Until we accept and allow space for healing we won’t ever be able to step into our real authentic selfs because something will always feel missing, and we will always be trying to find that missing pieces.  In order to live a fulfilling life we have to come to peace with the past and unfortunately this isn’t a simple task. It takes a lot of shadow work to be able to come to full acceptance for our past.

Remember to be patient with yourself during this journey, it’s going to take time and be uncomfortable but it’s the only thing that can set up free.

Thank you for reading and listening to this podcast episode.

Welcome to Keeping It Kind With Kind At Heart.

Episode recorded 23/08/2020.

Today on the podcast we are talking about returning home after long time travel and what that feels & looks like. We often speak about what it’s like to travel, but not what it’s like to return home after long term travel.

There’s a lot of people that feel a lot of Anxiety, depression & fear of returning home after long term travel, and I know from my own experience of returning home to England after traveling and living abroad was such a scary experience. I couldn’t help but try to control how things unfolded when i returned home, i couldn’t accept that i had returned home after traveling and seeing the world. I almost kept fooling myself from believing i was home for a while by always speaking about leaving again. It almost felt if i stayed in England long term i had failed as a traveler.

I was scared to return home to England because i always associated home with being stuck, because in the past i was always surrounded by people that felt stuck in their own lives in England. Stuck in their jobs, relationships, environmental situation.

I felt stuck in my life and my living situations while living in England as well.

The constant fear of ‘Omg if you stay in England you’re going to get stuck’ ‘You’re going to get trapped in an unfulfilling life’ All these thoughts and fears would intangible me in feeling shitty about returning home. i really had to do a lot of work in order to change the narrative of what it means to return home after a long time. I had to let go in order to be at peace with my present and learn to accept being at home, and learn to enjoy being at home rather than always try run away from it in my head by fantasising being somewhere else.

We are always looking for the next moment ‘when i leave England i’ll be peaceful & happy’ ‘When i do this and that things will be perfect’ Our mind is really good at tricking us and robbing us of our present moment without constantly having residence towards it.

We have to reframe our thoughts and our feelings of what it means to not always be traveling.

One of the reasons most people have a hard time returning home is because they would have to return to living with their family and face a lot of things that they may of been avoiding for a long while.

I know in my situation I was terrified to return home because I spent so long trying to escape. I found it difficult to accept my family which in return made it difficult to accept myself.

I come to realise that returning home was in fact a lot more powerful than actually leaving, because it gave me the opportunity to face the person that I actually was running away from, to face the resistance that i had long wanted to avoid.

Returning home for me was in a way a key to set me free, because it gave me the opportunity to take all that i had seen and experienced while living away, and learn to apply it in a place that challenged and tested the life that i was trying to create.

I guess we always have to remember that whether we’re leaving or retuning from a place we call home, is that no matter what it looks like we’re always going to throughout it no matter what.

We have to remember to invite change into our lives even when it looks incredibly uncomfortable.

Thank you for listening and reading.
