My entry for week 19 is a song a Nigerian artist named Burna Boy and the title of the song is Common Person.

I love this song because it talks about creating happiness for ourselves no matter the situation we are in. Sometimes people might look down on us due to the fact that they don't see us in the same "class" as them or they see us as a "common person", but in all we should always see ourselves for the unique person we are because we all have a role to play in this world. So we always find a way to create happiness for ourselves.

This is another week in the #vibes community. It's week 18 for the Vibes Web3 Music Competition.

This week's theme is a song from Disney Movies and of course there are lots to choose from but I decided to do a cover of a Remember Me (Recuérdame) from the movie "Coco".

I am not much of an emotional person but I can't really express what it is about this song that always gets to me anytime I listen to it. It's probably the father-daughter bond which was later passed on to their younger generation. I can't pinpoint it but I know it's a song I always love listening to.

For my presentation,i did a mix of Spanish and English language. It's crazy that despite the fact that Spanish isn't my language, I have always enjoyed the Spanish version of this song even more than the English version of it. So I decided to do a mix. I hope you enjoy watching.

Welcome to another week in the #vibes community. This is week 16 with a theme that takes us down memory lane.

My entry for this week is the cover of a theme song to a Tv Show I loved watching while growing up. The show is titled (H20:Just Add Water)

The Tv show revolves around three girls who were mermaids and their super powers which was related to water. The show ran from 2006-2010.

I remembered always wanting to listen to this theme song whenever it comes on. I learned the lyrics to the song by writing it down in a book and it was very easy to learn. and I will go on singing it whenever I am doing my house chores or just anything.

It got to a point a neighbor of mine told my mom I am singing a song telling everyone I belong to the "water", which is code for being a "mamiwater" (mermaid). It wasn't funny because you can trust Nigerian parents to reject and rebuke it on your behalf 😀😀😀.

This is another week for the #vibes Web3 Music Competition.

For week 15, I am presenting a song by Christina Perri titled Jar Of Hearts.

The song talks about someone reeling from the pain of heartbreak caused by an ex-lover. What happens when the person who broke your heart is trying to reconnect with you? Do you move on or give them the remaining pieces of your heart and let them grind it into dust? I bet some people would still choose the latter, I won't say I blame them though, love can be complicated sometimes.

Heartbreaks are never easy. It's not easy trusting someone with all your heart only for them to leave, causing you so much pain and hurt in the process. Moving on from such takes someone who is strong enough to pick up the pieces of their heart and learn to heal.

For week 220, the theme chosen is Time and it was chosen by our spotlight artist @superjavi

In line with the theme I would be presenting a song by Jordin Spark titled One Step At A Time

I chose this song because it talks about the importance of waiting for the right time and also taking things step by step.

Sometimes we believe that "time" is against us and we try to rush things that might make us end up taking the wrong decisions which we would end up regretting.

"Why not take it one step at a time". Sometimes all things needs to fall in place is time and patience, which I agree might not really be easy for most of us but we have to believe that "things will happen when it's supposed to happen"

It's another week for the #Vibes Web3 Music Competition. It's been amazing and so far the community is growing with new people coming onboard and having a platform to showcase their talents.

My entry for week 13 is a song by a Nigerian artist named "Asa" and the song is titled Bibanke which translates to (When I'm Crying)

The song is about a lost love. This sometimes happens when a relationship hits rock bottom and a person is no longer interested while the other falls deeper in love which makes the latter do anything and everything to get the other to notice them till they could no longer keep up and they ends up becoming a shadow of themselves.

This kind of love starts out so sweet but turns sour along the way that one would wonder if there was a spell cast on them which is wearing off.

In situations like this, I believe it's best to let the other know their stance in the relationship instead of making them miserable by depriving them of all the love and attention they so much craved.

The song is a mixture of native Yoruba language and English.

Hello everyone! It's another amazing week in the #vibes community with lots of entries coming in, lots of people joining in the hive blockchain through Vibes and the tremendous work of the judges and other moderators working to make this community bigger and better.

The theme chosen for this week 12 is Pain and my entry to the Vibes Web3 Music Competition is a song by Bruno Mars titled "When I Was Your Man"

The song is one of pain and regret. It talks about a man who took his lover for granted, never giving her the time and attention she needed until he sees her happy with another man then he wishes he could turn back the hands of time and give her all she wanted.

The saying that " you don't know what you have till you lose it" is applicable to this song. It's funny how some people only appreciate people when they are no longer in their lives, it's more crazy when they start going lengths in getting them back into their lives, which begs the question "Why not put in that much effort in the first place?"

This is not only applicable to people but other things in our lives. This song should serve as a reminder to us all to always value people or things that are very important to us, else we would feel so much pain and regret when they are gone.

This is another week for the #vibes web3 music competition. I am rukkie and a special thanks goes to those working towards making this competition become bigger and better.

This is week 11 of the music competition and it's no surprising that more people are coming into the hive blockchain through Vibes and with its onboarding projects, I have no doubt that there will be more people here in no time.

This weekgave us the opportunity to choose a theme of our choice and I am choosing one titled Beauty out of Ashes.

I believe we have all heard of phrases like "Light at the end of the tunnel","Tears may flow in the night, but joy comes in the morning" and many more. This theme is also synonymous to that as it helps us believe that in all we face, we should always believe that something good can come out of something bad especially when it is something that causes us great pain or sadness. For This week on #Vibes Web3 Music Competition, there is the use of a theme which I think is a very good idea by the way. All thanks to @lordbutterfly and the brains behind it all.

So the theme with the highest number of votes is A song from the 1960's. When I saw that this theme had the highest number of votes, I couldn't help but laugh because I actually find it interesting that we will be going way back to the 60's.

The first song that actually came to mind when I saw this theme was Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond

Sweet Caroline was released in 1969 by Neil Diamond. I came across the song the first time when I saw the movie "The Miracle Season" which told the story of Caroline Found and also from the Movie "Purple Hearts"

My entry for this week's competition is a song by SHONTELLE titled

The song talk about love and heartbreak. It is true that when love hits you, you sometimes throw caution to the wind. Even when we are told to take caution, we sometimes ignore because of how much we love that person.

This song is an heartfelt song which talks about how love sometimes makes us vulnerable. The singer tries to give her man another chance even when she had been hurt by him. Which begs the question, how can something as powerful as love makes us weak?

Most of us finds ourselves in this kind of situation. Knowing fully well that we need to move on but we find it difficult to let go because we still love that person so much.

I have always loved songs that are inspiring, that helps show our inner strength and make all our hardwork worth it.

"Each Tear " talks about one's struggles and preserving through them. This song made me realize that sometimes tears are not a sign of weakness but an indication that we have overcome a certain obstacle and as a result became a better person.

This song has really helped me during my dark times. It helped me know that I am much more than my struggles and I have always being striving hard not to make my problems weigh me down.

It's another week in the VIBES community created by @lordbutterfly and other team members working tirelessly to make it a success. I love that the community is growing and also helping more people come onboard the Hive blockchain and I also enjoy watching beautiful entries from other music lovers like myself.

I have always loved oldies and I still do. So for this week's Music Competition, I thought about doing an oldie and this song came to mind. It was one of my favorite hit songs released in the year 2000. The song is titled MISSING YOU BY CASE, so I made a cover of the song.

"MISSING YOU" circles around the pain and yearning one feels when separated from someone we love so dearly. The thought of them not being with us makes us feel so down and weak. Their absence hit us so deeply that we wished we had never let them go.

This song made me realize just how tough separation is, especially when there is an intense feeling. Sometimes not even a long distance nor being apart can take away such feelings rather it will leave one or both parties incomplete as they begin daydreaming about each other as loneliness sets in amongst other things.

Another thing I got from the song is that sometimes people don't know the value of what they have until they lose it and when they come crying back, it might just be too late. So it's best to cherish the love we have.

For my entry, I have decided to present a song by Anthony Gonzalez titled REMEMBER ME (RECUÉRDAME)

There are lots of versions of this song so I decided to do a mixture of Spanish and English. I am not very good at Spanish but I love this song so much that I knew I had decided to give it a try.

This song was from the movie Coco and it goes in line with this week's theme. It is a song a father sings for his daughter as he was about to embark on a journey and from those who saw the movie, the father never came back. But this song is like a remembrance of the memories they both shared, the love between a father and a child.

Sometimes we also miss our loved ones especially those that can never return but their memories lives on forever in our hearts and it can also be passed down to others through the stories that we tell about them.

This theme is one I really connect with and I am happy to hold on to the memories shared with friends and families, those that are here and those that are long gone.

"Heaven Sent" is a love song that expresses a very deep desire to be in the life of someone we love. Sometimes it can be very difficult to find love especially when we have been hurt before. We all need to be not only loved but also trusted and needed.

Love should also be honest. Both parties need to know that they are on the same page and if not, they should learn to let go even if a piece leaves with the other. True love is never forced, it should come naturally, almost feeling like it was sent from heaven.

It's another week in the @afri-tunes community. My name is Rukkie and I am glad to be here for the Afri-Christmas volume 2 contest.

For this theme, I will be presenting a song by Teni for the MerryGoKids titled Keresimesi( which literally translates to Merry Christmas)

It's exactly one week to Christmas, a season we all love and enjoy. We can feel the aura of festivities in the air as everyone is gearing towards the Christmas celebration by decorating their homes, stocking the house with foodstuffs and many more.

This is a time of the year where people come together to celebrate with their friends and families. You see children travelling down home to see their parents after a long period. What I love most about this time is people eating, drinking and having fun together.

Keresimesi is a song about Christmas and all the joy it brings. It is a season of sharing, giving and putting smiles on people's faces. So whatever we do,let's all try to spread the love to people around us.

No one deserves to feel lonely, why not invite people to celebrate the holidays with you? Well that's if it won't be a burden to you as well. Another thing we should look out for is to make sure we don't over-spend and end up sinking in debt. That won't be a good thing to bring into the New Year.

It's another beautiful week in the afri-tunes community. I am @rukkie and I am glad to be here once again.

For this 88th week, I will be presenting and old song which I stumbled across. It's a song by Yemi Alade titled "Johnny".

The song is a funny one and from the video,I bet we all had a good laugh. I love the beat of the song as it is one that will get you in dancing mode.

Despite the funny part of it, the song gives a deep insight into unfaithfulness and betrayal.

It started with a woman looking for her man named "Johnny". After lots of enquires,she found out that her man is a liar and a cheat who has made promises to other women. One of them was pregnant for him and he is engaged to another.

One of his women expresses her confusion about Johnny leaving her, as well as her hurt and anger at his unfaithfulness. But then even after finding Johnny (with another woman of course), he denies knowing any of them as they fight over him claiming to be the main woman in his life.

The funny thing about this is that even after these women knew of his several affairs with other women, they won't hesitate to go back to him should he choose to be with any of them. Which begs the question "Shey o da suga si ni?" (which is a slang for "Is he that good/sweet or did he add sugar?"

I chose this song as a way of appreciating God's work in my life. "Agbanilagbatan" in this context means the one who saves me completely. Here I am again with another love song, please don't mind me. I just love these kind of songs for I believe so much in love.

Oftentimes, people especially women are scared of falling into the wrong hands, it makes some of us so scared of choosing someone who might end up being wrong for us. The truth is no one is perfect and nobody has it all. There is no formula to having a successful marriage but I think the common factor here would be "love". Do you love each other enough to make it work ? Does your for each other burns hot ?

It's true that love is not enough, but when push come to shove, do you love each other enough to overcome any barrier? When you find someone your heart burns for, someone you want to build a home with, Love them back as much as they love you.

We all need love to get by day after day. It doesn't always have to be romantic love. You can show love to people around you. We never can tell what most people are going through. A word of encouragement will go a long way to show you love and care for them.

When I saw the reason why our spotlight artist chose this song, I was touched and this song immediately came to mind.

This song shows just how much of a beacon of light we are to our parents. She talked about how her families were there for her and got her through that phase. We are a beacon of light to our families as much as they are to us. They are a source of light to us even when we have darkness all around us.

I am glad that were able to have that light around you that guided you out of the dark tunnel. You are also a beacon of light to many of us here @gloriaolar, you encourage, guide, and support other everyone around you, me inclusive.

It's week #74 on @afri-tunes. I am @rukkie and for this week, I will be presenting one of the songs suggested in the community titled Halleluya by Johnny Drille ft Simi.

Halleluya is a love song that expresses the yearning and affection of two individuals who have been silently admiring each other.

When I saw the song suggested is one of Johnny Drille's, I told myself I will learn it and present it. I always fall in love with his songs, so when I checked online and saw that he featured Simi, haa I fell in love with the song the more even before listening to it and I must say I couldn't wait to present it. The lyrics of the song are just doing me somehow, I can't explain it maybe it's because, at some point in our lives, we must have felt that confusion/feelings wondering if the person we are crushing on feels the same way we do.

We will be actively checking up on their social feeds, seeing how many people liked their pictures or who is trying to link up with them. But in real life? Haa that o na silence o probably due to fear of rejection and you won't know if the other person feels what you feel for them. Most times, it's always sad if none of them says anything till one of them gets hooked up with someone else. Then comes, the premium tears, you go cry like say soldier flog you. But seriously with the way things are going, I think everyone should just try to express themselves if in such a situation so as not to regret not saying anything in the long run.

It's week #173 on hiveopenmic. I am @rukkie and It's an honor for me to be chosen as the spotlight artist for this week. Thank you @hiveopenmic for giving me the privilege to give out a theme other musicians can sing to and I am wowed by the beautiful entries so far.

The theme I chose for this week is "Memories" and I will be presenting a song by Céline Dion titled "My Heart will go on".

Before the day, I was told to choose the theme for this week, I stumbled across a picture of my aunt and me and it brought back a lot of memories of our time together before the cold hands of death took her away from me.

My aunt was someone I was very close to. She made sure I was very free around her so that I could tell her all my secrets. She was my "gist" partner, She always gave me a listening ear whenever I needed it and She gave me a shoulder to cry on when I was heartbroken.

My mum sometimes complains about how much you spoil me, you would laugh and tell her to stop being jealous. Thank you for all the times you listened whenever I needed someone to unburden my heart to. You were not just my aunt, you were my friend and also my mom. Even though you are gone, I will forever cherish the time we spent together and I will go on and carry our memories close to my heart.

Antes del día en que me dijeron que eligiera el tema de esta semana, me topé con una foto de mi tía y yo y me trajo muchos recuerdos de nuestro tiempo juntos antes de que las frías manos de la muerte me la arrebataran.

This song "Jealous" portrays the bittersweet emotions that come with falling deeply in love and the mere thought of the one who love being with someone else drives you crazy. You feel this intense connection to them that it looks as if they have done something to you.

If not all, I would say most of us might have gotten heart-broken at some point in our lives(It's like a national breakfast) and we break up probably because we don't feel any connection with the people we had come across. If eventually we get to meet someone special, there is this feeling we would get when we meet them and we'd wonder where they have been all this while.

When you find that person that rocks your world, you would never want to let them go. You get jealous if they are giving their attention to someone else because you just want them all to yourself. You crave for their love and attention all the time because it just for you what you feel for them is so deep.

It's week #172 on Hiveopenmic. I am @rukkie and for this week's theme "Family", I will be presenting a song by Anthony Gonzalez and the song is titled "Proud Corazón" (Proud Heart)

This song was from the movie "Coco" and it gave a beautiful description of the sacrifices we all make for family.

I chose this song because it speaks of the love we have for our family. The lengths we all go to make each other happy. The love we have for our family is a strong one as it is a unique type of love and no matter how far we are from each other, we remain united.

A lot of people have different definitions for family but I also define family as "a group of persons united by a common bond" and I believe family love can also be built with people who are not biologically related to us.

I have found that kind of love here on Hive. I have connected better with a lot of people that I have gotten to know through this amazing blockchain.

The just concluded #dreemportmarathon also helped me connect better and as such gave me the privilege to meet these amazing souls in the #teemjarb which are @julti1985 @amiegeoffrey @balikis95 and myself.

All through the marathon, they have been of great help to me. Their love and support helped me in ways that words alone cannot describe and I am glad that we are now more than teammates, we are now sisters and family.

Elegí esta canción porque habla del amor que sentimos por nuestra familia. Hasta dónde llegamos para hacer felices a los demás. El amor que sentimos por nuestra familia es muy fuerte, ya que es un tipo de amor único y, por muy lejos que estemos unos de otros, permanecemos unidos.

It's week #72 on @afri-tunes . My name is @rukkie and for this week I will be presenting a song titled "Uyo Meyo" by a Nigerian artist named Teni .

"Uyo Meyo" is a Traditional Ondo dialect in Nigeria that talks about rejoicing and happiness. I believe when you rejoice with people, your own happiness is just around the corner. Sometimes when people become successful, some gets jealous of them instead of rejoicing or being genuinely happy for them that's because they don't know the bridges they had to cross to get to that stage they are.

We all wear smiles and laugh to mask our pain but some of us know the hardship we have gone through in life to get to a certain stage and we keep pushing forward and never giving up to make our parents proud and be useful not just to ourselves but to the society at large.

"Uyo Meyo leun o san o kan mi o e" literally means the way I celebrate or rejoice with other people, it’s my turn to be celebrated.

I have always been happy when I see people doing well with their lives especially those who strive and work hard to get to where they are. It's not an easy ride especially when you have people trying to bring you down or you are having challenges in different form. It is true money is not everything, but with money,most of us would have gone beyond the level we currently at but I do believe in time we will get to that level that has been destined for us and people will also rejoice with us just as we are happy for them.

Separations are always hard and very heart-breaking. No one wishes it but it happens as life is sometimes unfair and change is constant. Sometimes people change and they tend to hurt the person they love either intentionally or not.

In cases where the sparks has been lost and cannot be rekindled, when thoughts no longer align, it's best to let go. It might seem hard but love also means letting go if it keeps bringing them pain.

I chose this song because it gave a detailed reason why it would be best to go their separate ways even though the love might still be there. It's so hard letting go but sometimes it's needed for one to be happy.

I chose this song because it talks about how life is not as hard as many of us paints it and how some people destroy others all for vanity. Personally, I'm not one to tell people how to live their lives but I feel sad whenever I see people doing virtually anything to win even if it means at the detriment of the happiness of someone close to you.

We all know that in this life, we only live once and no matter the amount of wealth or riches we must have gathered, we are going to leave them behind the day we die. It might be a tough pill to swallow but no one lives forever so at some point we will die, though we all pray to live long and not die young.

The song further talks about friends,how true friends should be happy for each other because if one person succeeds, the success belongs to the both of them. So, Instead of hating on your friend's success why don't you be genuinely happy for them so that your own turn would come faster. Try supporting your friends instead of mocking them behind their backs and when they succeed despite your mockery,you start getting Jealous and looking for ways to bring them down.

The phrase " oju orun to ẹyẹ fo lai f'ara kan'ra wọn" literally means " The sky is wide enough for all birds to fly even without them touching/obstructing one another" which means that the sky is big enough for everyone. You don't have to obstruct others all because you want to have it all.

I think the main question here should be "What legacy do you leave behind after death? What do people say about you when you're gone? These are some of the questions we should always ask ourselves as we go about our daily lives. The message in this song is enough to make one have a rethink and try to do better. Life is too short, no one knows tomorrow, we should rather be asking for God's blessings,avoid trouble and make the most of the little time we have in life.

This song is one of my all-time favorites and it's mostly in Yoruba Language, so I hope you enjoy my presentation.

It's week #170 of hiveopenmic. I am @rukkie and this week's theme "Cacao" was chosen by @cabelindsay .

As we all know, Cacao are seeds of a tropical tree where cocoa and chocolates are made. This week's theme is actually perfect for it's been raining all week and the weather has been cold which made me come down with cold. I am glad that I was able to make a hot beverage which helped relieve my cold. Taking a hot beverage daily helped boost my immune system which helped made it possible for me to make this video.

I stumbled across this song some months ago and though it's a song for kids,I actually liked it. So I decided to present the song for this week. It's titled "Hot Chocolate" by Stephanie Leavell.

Tomar una bebida caliente todos los días me ayudó a reforzar mi sistema inmunológico, lo que me permitió hacer este vídeo.

I chose this song as a declaration of war against any form of negativity in my life. I see some people around me striving for my downfall. It's another beautiful week in the @afritunes community. I am @rukkie and for this week#69, I will be presenting a song suggested by the community titled Case by Teni.

The song "Case" depicts a strong affection that one has towards their lover and how far one is willing to go to show their devotion to one's lover. The word "Case" here could be translated to ; For You or All For You.

Falling deeply in love with someone can make one do crazy things such as going as far as slapping police officers, going to war, going to court, or even climbing a bridge all for your lover maybe not literally 😀😀😀 but figuratively on behalf of your lover.

It shows love doesn't make one weak rather it gives strength. I mean what kind of love would want to make you fight thugs or reporting them to their boss (M.C Oluomo) for your lover if not true love.

It also shows that true love doesn't care for status or wealth as said in the lyrics where she mentioned names like "Dangote or Adeleke" ( These are names of influential people in Nigeria) as love makes one contented with whatever their partner can afford to give.

It's week #168 on hiveopenmic. I am @rukkie and this week's theme is titled "Música para Niños" which translates to "Music for Children". Thanks to @aly.squid for choosing this beautiful theme as it took me down memory lane. For this theme, I will be presenting a lullaby titled: "Oh Little Baby".

Children are beautiful gifts from God and every parent bundle of joy. They are good at making everyone around them smile from ear to ear just by looking at how cute they are but one thing these newborn babies are not too good at is sleeping at night.

For first-time mums, babies can be a handful but it helps when these mums are surrounded with people who can help and support them.

While growing up, I was used to having newborn babies around me from time to time. I have a large extended family and often time, whenever one of my uncle's wife put to bed, the new mom and baby usually come to our place. My mum is very good at taking care of both of them and it's usually all peaceful until late at night when the real work begins which is when the baby would decide none of us should sleep.

In cases like this, we will have to turn to singing lullabies to help soothe the baby, we all take turns in composing new songs that now that I think of it if I had recorded all the songs my mum and I have had to compose, we would have made quite a fortune from it by now.

Most of these songs help calm the baby but this one I am presenting did wonders in calming them, my mum always sings it and in no time, the baby will sleep off. That way, everyone can also rest including the new mom.

Los niños son hermosos regalos de Dios y cada paquete de alegría de los padres. Hacen sonreír de oreja a oreja a todos los que les rodean con sólo ver lo monos que son, pero hay algo que a estos recién nacidos no se les da demasiado bien: dormir por la noche.

Para las madres primerizas, los bebés pueden ser una pesadilla, pero ayuda mucho que estén rodeadas de gente que las ayude y las apoye.

Mientras crecía, estaba acostumbrada a tener bebés recién nacidos a mi alrededor de vez en cuando. It's week #167 on hiveopenmic. I am @rukkie. The week's theme is chosen by @eudarcabello and the theme is "Otaku" which is a Japanese word used to describe fans of anime.

For this theme, I will be presenting a theme song in my favorite anime movie series titled " Dr Stone".

This song is titled "Yume no yō na"( Like a dream) by Yusuke Saeki and I will be presenting it in its Original Japanese Language. Though this is not my native language nor the official language in my country, but I love the way it sounded in it's original language and I decided to give it a try.

I chose this song because the movie inspired me to become a better version of myself. The main character "Senku" uses his knowledge on science to try to restore humanity back to its former glory in a post-apocalyptic era. I am not wishing for humanity to come to an end but I asked myself that if Like A Dream I find myself in a situation where I would need to use my knowledge as a means to survive. Will I be able to cope? Well I hope I do 😀😀😀.

The movie has helped me work on myself to improve more. Though I am not a scientist like the character in the movie but I want to be able to do something no matter how small to help people around me. I'm glad that my profession as an educator helped put me in a position where I can impact meaningfully and positively into the younger generation and I hope and pray I will be able to do more.

For those who love anime like me, I'd recommend you see this movie if you haven't and even for those who does not like anime movies, you can still try to watch it and I am ten billion percent sure that you will love it like I do.

The song portrays the vulnerability and despiration one feels when attempting to demonstrate devotion to a partner. In this song, the singer serenades the woman he is in love with named "Anwuli" and he wants her to believe that he loves her more than anyone else in the world. I chose this song because I literally had a bad day today. From the beginning of this week, things had not been going my way. It was as if something is stopping me from moving forward.

Just Today, the screen of my phone became blank, I had to use the last cash on me to repair it. Then again, I was accused wrongly at work, it was later in the day the whole thing cleared up. I was just down all through today coupled with what has been happening all through the week.

It's week 65 on @afritunes and for this week I chose to present a song by JOEBOY titled SIP(ALCOHOL).

This song expresses a desire to focus on the good things in life and avoid bad influences. As we all know that life is full of ups and downs, day by day we encounter problems and distractions that we always feel the need to provide solutions to but there is this saying (though in pidgin) that "PROBLEM NO DEY FINISH" ( this means you can't solve all problems as new ones arise even before or after you have solved a current one).

This song is also a celebration of success and a reminder that it's important to stay focused on what brings joy and fulfilment. So, instead of allowing the weight of some problems wear you down, why not take it easy, relax in anyway you can and also don't forget to celebrate the good things you have achieved so far no matter how small it could be.

I chose this song because no matter the problems I face,I always choose to stay positive and I do try to stay in control of my actions so that if some things happen unexpectedly,I will be ready for them.

I also relax and celebrate my little wins, sometimes by taking myself out on a treat and if I don't want to go out, I will prepare a nice sumptuous meal and accompany it with a chilled drink mostly non-alcoholic but sometimes I do indulge in taking alcoholic drinks (yeah I am old enough anyways 😋) but I drink responsibly. It's week #58 on @afritunes and for this week I will be doing the cover of a song by Asa titled "Bibanke" which means "When I Cry"

Sometimes we shed tears of joy when we receive good news or when somethings go the way we want them to but often times, we cry out when we are deeply hurt especially by someone we love.

Bibanke tells a tale of a lost love between two people and I can say it can be very sad when you feel the love is fading or no longer there. You do everything to rekindle the feelings and to make them notice you but it's just not working.

You then begin to wonder what might have happened. Did you hold on too tight ? Were they suffocated by your love ? Was it real on their part or just a make believe ?

You cry so much when they finally leave and in time you realize you have to let them go for your own sanity.

"Al Dios Que Adoramos" (The God We Worship) was chosen by @williansmarquez and I will be presenting a song by a Nigerian artist named Lara George and the song is titled "Dansaki".

Dansaki in Hausa language means “I worship you”. It is a song of adoration to the King of kings, Lord of lords and to praise and glorify the name of the all-powerful God.

Though “Dansaki” in Yoruba, which was borrowed from Hausa, means to hail and say you are celebrating the person. It simply means you are celebrating God and it was borne out of gratitude.

I chose this song because it contains powerful lyrics which expresses how I acknowledge the power of God in my life and I can't thank God enough for all He has done for me. I just want to say thank you for everything and I will continue to say Dansaki re Baba ( I Hail You Father).

It's week #57 on @afri-tunes. My name is @rukkie and I will be presenting a song titled Pray For Me by Darey ft Soweto Gospel Choir.

"Pray For Me" is a story of triumph against all odds. It tells the story of a young man who travels to the city for a better life. Though his parents forbids his travel as they feared he might become broken due to the lack of knowledge of how difficult the world could be.
Despite their refusal he was optimistic that he would survive the dangerous world out there and only requires his parent's prayers.

I chose the song because just like everybody,I also wished for a better life for my family. If I have the means I won't hesitate to seek out greener pastures. It might work out or not but I wouldn't know if I don't try. With God's grace and my parent's prayers,I would achieve greater things and make them proud.

This is week #53 on @afri-tunes. It's my first time posting here and it was recommended by @jesus-son. I hope you like my video.

For this week, I will be singing a song by a Nigerian artist Simi and the song is titled : "Love Don't Care".

This song was released in 2017 and I chose it because it shows us a deeper meaning of the word love as it cares for the next person irrespective of status, religion or ethnicity.

Most times,our parents disagree when it comes to choosing a partner who is not from the same ethnic group as us or the same religion. You will hear cases of hearts been shattered due to the fact that their parents won't budge.

Another scenario is that of parents forcing their children to marry a rich person not minding that they love someone else,you will see some rich families tagging a girl as a "gold digger" all because she is from a poor background. Some parents go as far as forcing their daughter should marry a rich man who might be way older than her daughter, some might threaten to disown her if she won't listen all because of this thing called 'money'.

This is an appeal to our parents to do better,I believe we are one as we are all created by God. Parents should please allow their children (especially the female child) to follow their heart and be with the one whom they love.

It's week #152 on Hiveopenmic. This week's theme is titled ; Traditional Music chosen by @bertrayo.

This theme took me down memory lane, as I remembered the songs i heard from my parents while growing up, there are lots of songs to choose from and I have decided to share a song titled : LAYE OLUGBON ( This literally means During the reign of OLUGBON or In olugbon's time).

LAYE OLUGBON is a Yoruba song. Yoruba is one of the major ethnic groups in Nigeria. The names of the people mentioned in this song are Olugbon, Aresa and Abiodun and they are past Kings or Rulers in Yoruba land and the song talks about how their reign was favourable to people far and wide. The masses (especially women) were able to buy things they want at a cheaper rate and it is said that it is only a lazy person that would say their reign was not enjoyable.

The reason why I chose this song is because I am hoping that this new era in Nigeria, we can also enjoy like those people in those days. We had our presidential election in Nigeria on 25th of February 2023 and we will be having another on 18th of March 2023 to choose the next Governor of Lagos State in Nigeria. I pray the best man wins and their era be favourable to the masses.

Hello Hive lovers!!!,It's week 151 of hiveopenmic.
This week's theme titled ; Faith, Hope and Love is one I can relate to. A big shoutout to our spotlight artist @deeanndmathews for choosing this theme.

For this week's theme, I will be singing a worship song titled: Because He Lives by Bill Gaither.

I relate to this song because it helped pull me out of a depressed period in my life.

I almost gave up but then, whenever I remember this song, it gives me a new sense of Knowing that God will never give me more than I can handle and I have faith in Him that as long as He lives, my story will change for the better.

My father in heaven loves me and I have faith in him and I am never giving up hope. I know as long as I am alive, there is always hope for me.

The Bible says;
...if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move... – Matthew 17:20

This means if our faith, even if it’s the size of a mustard seed, is placed in the all-powerful God, great things can happen and we can always hope for a better tomorrow.

Another portion of the bible that kept me going is Jeremiah 17:7

"Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is".

Me identifico con esta canción porque me ayudó a salir de un período de depresión en mi vida.

Casi me di por vencido pero entonces, cada vez que recuerdo esta canción, me da un nuevo sentido de Saber que Dios nunca me dará más de lo que puedo manejar y tengo fe en Él que mientras Él viva, mi historia cambiará para mejor.

Mi padre en el cielo me ama y tengo fe en él y nunca voy a perder la esperanza. Sé que mientras viva, siempre habrá esperanza para mí.

La Biblia dice;
...si tienes fe tan pequeña como un grano de mostaza, puedes decirle a esta montaña: 'Muévete de aquí para allá', y se moverá... - Mateo 17:20

Esto significa que si nuestra fe, aunque sea del tamaño de un grano de mostaza, está puesta en el Dios todopoderoso, pueden suceder grandes cosas y siempre podemos esperar un mañana mejor.

Otro pasaje de la Biblia que me hizo seguir adelante es Jeremías 17:7

"Bienaventurado el hombre que confía en el Señor, y cuya esperanza es el Señor".

This theme cuts across a lot of traits such as Courage, Love, Self-control, Fidelity, Temperance, Forgiveness and so on.

Virtues are said to be traits or qualities which dispose one to conduct oneself in a morally good manner.

One virtue i would to talk about is the virtue of knowing how to apologize after making a mistake. As humans, we are imperfect, we make mistakes and we step on each other's toes sometimes. Saying "sorry" when you are wrong goes a long way in inculcating humility.

I am imperfect,I make mistakes,I am using this medium to say I am sorry to those I have wrong in the past, and to those who have wronged me too. I Forgive you.

It's another beautiful week of Hive open Mic. This week's theme :Light of the World chosen by our spotlight artist @jessicaossom is a beautiful one. I am happy to be here once again.

I believe God is the light of the world and you can see God's light in you. When I noticed I was down and going into a dark place,here is what I did to take myself out of depression.

Firstly,I spent time with God and I did that by diving into God's words (reading the Bible) and I was set free, it's like I was reborn.
Some of the verses I read includes ;

• John 8:12
  When Jesus spoke again to the people,he said " I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness,but will have the light of life".
• John 1:5
  "The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it".
• Johnny 9:5
  "As long as I am in the world,I am the light of the world"

These verses inspired me and I decided to walk in the light of God.

Another thing I did was to worship God through music. I Put on some music and praise God for the things he has given me and trust him in what he will do in the future.

Lastly, i prayed to God to give me the strength to serve Him and never for once doubt the greatness of His power,no matter the situation i find myself.

I am choosing a children hymn song titled : This little light of mine.

I chose this song because it was one of the songs that got me up when I was at my lowest.
I had always wanted to further my education in hopes for a better job and then I sometimes blame God for not putting me in a wealthy family that could afford to give me the best education I had always wanted. I was always down and gradually falling into depression especially when I see some of my friends post when they are done with their MBA or doing one professional courses or the other.

Je dédie cette chanson à ma grand-mère paternelle que j'ai perdue il y a 2 ans, c'était une femme extraordinaire, sa mort m'a vraiment brisé et j'ai pleuré pendant des jours, mais je sais qu'elle aurait voulu que j'aille de l'avant, je continuerai à honorer sa mémoire en étant le bon enfant qu'elle m'a appris à être.

I chose this song because it tells a story of a person who is apologizing to someone they had hurt because they felt they are incapable of being loved that they let go of something good.

Saying sorry or apologizing is a bit hard for some of us, most times it's not easy having to swallow our pride and admit we are at fault. We need to learn to always say sorry when we hurt people.

Most importantly,we need to learn to forgive ourselves for bad decisions we must have made because we need to know that as humans we are imperfect and we need to remember that forgiveness holds the key to lasting peace of mind.

My name is Rukkie and am sending a special thanks to @discouragedones for choosing this beautiful theme : Woman , Life , Freedom.

This is a theme that is very close to my heart because in an African Country especially Nigeria, "The Female" gender goes through a lot of intimidation, stigmatization and so on.

In most Nigerian homes, if a woman does not have a male child, it becomes a problem for her and her female children. She would cry and keep praying to God for a male child, that is why you see a woman having up to 10 children and so on all because she wants a male child. Without a male child, most women don't have a say in their husbands house.

If a woman doesn't have a husband she is deemed proud or she doesn't have what it takes to hold the attention of a man.

If a woman is rich, she is tagged a "prostitute" (Ashewo in Yoruba language) because the belief is that a woman cannot have money on her own.

If a woman is independent, she is too arrogant and proud. If a woman is single, it becomes a problem for her that is why some women gives into pressure and allow herself to be taken by a married man not minding being the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th etc wife so as to remove the "single" tag.

A single mother faces discrimination because she is not submissive, that is why her husband left her .

Some women stay with abusive husbands ( Osinachi ,Singer of Ekwueme ) God rest her soul would still be alive if she won't be discriminated upon as a "divorcee".

The theme for this week "National Pride" has given me the opportunity to talk about my country.

My country is Nigeria, a great nation but for sometime now a lot of bad things has been happening in my country ranging from Insecurity, Kidnapping and many more.

I decided to sing the National Anthem of my country Nigeria to remind us her citizens that Nigeria can be great once again.
