Moneys pledged and given also enable us to dream about new things God might be doing in our midst and in our community. Steve is joined today by Pete Garland to talk about one of those dreams. Pastor Steve sits down with Jean Gaffney, chair of our Invitation Team, to talk about a couple fun summer events at Southminster, our Blessing of the Animals service and The Americana Festival in Centerville.
Pastor Steve is joined today by Toni Heggie who shares with us about the Women's Circles that meet at Southminster. Our Women's Circles are Bible Study groups that gather once a month under the organization of the Presbyterian Women and we are so glad they are here. Some of us are even a little envious of their organization.
Mary Baez joins Pastor Steve today to talk about growth at Southminster in two different areas. Mary talks about our two year Growth Campaign and celebrates how the congregation has stepped up to the challenge of increasing our giving. She also talks about our annual Blessing of the Backpacks service. The kids in our midst are an obvious sign of the growth and the formation that happens around this place and we are so glad they are here.
October 4th, 2023 we will begin watching and discussing the tv show 'The Chosen' Season 2. Wednesday evenings at 6 pm we will have dinner and together experience this modern retelling of the gospel story. Mark Platt joins pastor Steve today to talk about Season 1 of 'The Chosen' that we watched together on Wednesday evenings earlier this spring.
Janet Dixon sits down with Pastor Steve to share the perspective of a regular visitor here at Southminster. We are glad to know Janet and celebrate this facet of life around Southminster.

Join us for dinner and discussion Wednesday evenings beginning March 1st. We will be looking at “8 Habits of Evangelism”. If you have negative associations with the word ‘evangelism,’ feel free to substitute the words ‘vibrant church’ or ‘growing church.’ All of us would like to learn the ‘8 Habits of a Vibrant Church’ or the ‘8 Habits of a Growing Church.’ Come find out what they are, how we already do some of these, and how we can strengthen our engagement muscles.
Each Wednesday evening from March 1st until April 26th (except for Holy Week), we will gather at 5:30 for a light meal followed by lively discussion and engaging activity.
