Metastories
Metastories is a drama audio series made up of stories which includes Greek mythology, history, Shakespearean tragedies, and a bit of philosophy. You will witness how the characters will blame each other for being responsible for the downfall of mankind.
The strong could become the weak, the right could become the wrong, and the innocent could turn into the greatest villain… Nevertheless, in a way, this show will still be about our disappointments, our tragedies, and some of the darkest consequences of our greatest achievements.

We are coming to the end of season 4 and it will be a violent ending!
We will have a closer look at the Oracle we met this season and the old man that the Oracle introduced as his partner. And we will have a closer look at their real identities… the two designers of this great game which they named it.
We will find out all sorts of different feelings in their conversation; regret, pleasure, satisfaction.
After a short while when king Creon faced his own tragedy, he decided to follow Oedipus’s footsteps and went to Colonus to find the Oracle whom Oedipus had spoken to before.
And the Oracle was more than happy to see Creon at his door.
Let’s dive into our story of hands in red, and the house with the red door.
After a while when Oedipus met the oracle, this time we will be guests to another tragic story in which this time is directly linked to Antigone, the daughter or the sister of Oedipus… but also the niece of the new King of Thebes - Creon.
After the conflict between Oedipus’s two sons Eteocles and Polynices, and after they died, Creon became the king, the new ruler of Thebes.
Creon gives Eteocles a full and honorable burial, but orders (under penalty of death) that Polynices' corpse be left to rot on the battlefield as punishment for his treason. Such state of non-burial was considered a frightening and terrible prospect in the culture of ancient Greece. Antigone, the daughter of Oedipus and Jocasta, who is betrothed to Creon's son Haemon, defies him by burying her brother, and is condemned to be entombed alive as punishment. Antigone tells Creon that it is the duty of the living to bury the dead and that if a body is not buried then the one who died will wander around in nowhere aimlessly for all eternity. Creon finally relents. However, when Creon arrives at the tomb where she was to be interred, Antigone has already hanged herself rather than be buried alive. And his son, Haemon, ends up taking his own life.
Our story starts in that small cellar where Creon sees the dead bodies of his son and his niece… and starts with a great regret!
An ancient character from ancient Greek tragedies, Oedipus. One of the main characters from the classic “the three theban plays” written by Sophocles.
Most of you would already know the tragic story of Oedipus. The man who murdered his own father, married his own mother and has been the father to his brothers and sisters.
After Oedipus and Antigone traveled through the darkest nights, they finally reached their final destination, the city called Colonus where they will meet with an oracle. So let’s begin to our story.
Imagine a species, that has no distinctive physical advantages, cannot run fast, does not have strong claws and teeth, is not very smart to begin with, cannot climb well, has no skin or fur to protect herself or himself, cannot see very well, cannot hear very well, and can only give birth to one offspring per year, and most of these births would end up with death anyway…. How did this species become the most dominant species in the world? Human babies are the weakest creatures in the world, yet, they managed to bring all the other creatures to their knees.

But despite the massacre they were about to face, would he have to say anything about his past crimes if he was questioned? And would his enemies be punished for their sins or would they be congratulated?

One day, a grandfather tells his grandchild the story of a meeting where Tithonus was the main guest. This is a meeting where everyone selfishly expected something from Tithonus, and Tithonus gladly gave them what they wanted. But the grandchild didn't seem very happy in this ancient loop. One day, a young, good looking man visits the mythological character Tithonus. He is a new character and a brand new hero.
And in this story, Tithonus has been the storymaker to entertain the gods for a very long time while they were sipping their wine on the Mount Olympus.

In this story, there will be a dialogue between a father and a son where they talk about a terrible betrayal they witnessed.
One of the most wicked betrayals. Although, the child sounds more disappointed and apparently the father was actually aware of this before it happened but he didn’t stop it just because he didn’t want to interrupt the natural course of things. The ultimate separation from the godly wouldn’t be given very easily, so we had to come up with the greatest legend telling the most “honorable'' war… “Iliad and Odyssey”. It was the key to how we would design our modern world.

After creating our new world, we encountered the biggest responsibilities that one can imagine. Even though we thought we would be free. And in return it only caused us to commit more depravities. We started wearing masks, we told lies, and we committed murders.
However, we dared to go even further and made the legend of “Iliad and Odyssey” to finish what we started.

It is one thing to survive in this place, and it is another thing to create our own world since we grew up. And are we worthy of being given this chance? Who would wonder more than anyone else to see this new world based on the designs we came up with?
And if we are worthy, how can we even possibly know which life will be worthy for us to live? Perhaps, Ingmar Bergman’s masterpiece, “The Seventh Seal”, could give us an answer. After all the tragedies and sins we caused, how will we feel in OUR world?

We referred to the movie called “God on Trial”. And by doing this, we tried to explain the righteousness of the strong and how it would be justified. We questioned free will, justice and its contradictions to righteousness. How could we or how did we survive in this place?

Metastories is a show which stands between true history and fiction. We aim to express some of the darkest sides of our biggest achievements and disasters, and what they would mean in a narrative format.
