Every person is dynamic, complex, and rich in stories. We often tell ourselves we can't be interviewed because we won't have anything interesting to say. Bryan and I started our podcast and business to prove that idea wrong. And Season 3 of the KTPod is all about that goal.
Today we talk to Pamela (Pam for short) about her lifetime of dance. Not because she is a premier dancer or famous choreographer, but because she loves it. Hearing Pam's story we learn how dance is in her blood, in her family history, and is the practice that ties her family together. Pam is inspiring, frank, and funny while she shares the details of her life with dance.

On this day in 2022 Mahsa Jina Amini died due to wounds inflicted by the morality police in Iran. Her death sparked a reckoning and revolution that continues to this day. In honor of the anniversary of her death we are reposting our episode from November 2022 that profiles four women from Iran who are now Washington residents and activists fighting for a safer and more open Iran.

Education is facing pushback from different cultural forces at the moment. However, one very important shift is mostly going unnoticed by the public due to a lack of understanding: artificial intelligence (A.I.). New advancements in Large Language Models (LLM's) like ChatGPT and Bard have captivated the media and started a race between big tech companies like Microsoft and Google.
In this episode, Kelly and Bryan reveal how the frontlines of this race will soon be in our nation's classrooms. Learn why teachers and students benefit from some technology, yet have major concerns about the new Generative A.I. taking over teachers jobs and students free will.
We share a new model for how to introduce and regulate technology in school so that teachers and students have data privacy and rights. This new technology is moving fast and may pose serious risks to the current generation of students. Shouldn't we question the motives of private corporations before we allow them to test new technology on our kids?

What is it like to be a teacher? In this episode Bryan and Kelly relive their experience as teachers in a public high school. Aided by former colleagues and students they break down the realities of teaching, the purpose of school, and dream of what it could become.
A few terms to help you understand the episode:
A-G courses- The classes required to attend most colleges (4 years English, 3 years Math, 3 years History, 2 years Science, 2 years PE, 2 years Arts)
IEP- Individualize Education Plan, created for students with learning or other disabilities that impact their ability to access content
RSP- Courses that are only populated by students with special needs, IEPs, etc. There are RSP versions of nearly every subject
504- A plan to support a student that does not qualify for an IEP but needs extra accommodations
EL- a student that is learning English as a second language and not yet considered fluent

Introducing the Kinship Tales podcast! A new show about love, relationships, and the importance of preserving memories forever.
We are Kelly and Bryan a wife and husband team who started Kinship Tales to help spread beautiful stories of love to the world. We met in college, fell in love, and went on to become high school teachers at the same school. During the pandemic we deeply learned the importance of family connection so we decided to embark on a new adventure. We left our teaching jobs to follow our passion - telling stories. We love all types of stories, especially audiobooks, podcasts, and music. We wondered why it wasn't easier for couples and families to record professional audio stories about their relationships. We saw a need and thus, Kinship Tales was born.
