There’s been a lot of noise created in Exeter about water bills in the last couple of years. Citizens complaining loudly about $300-$400 a month water and sewage bills, screaming by individuals, grandstanding by politicians, and even an ad hoc citizens committee and Facebook page created called Exeter Twp Water Issues. PA American Water Company (PAWC) is the target of their wrath.

With their 51-47 away victory over Cedar Cliff Monday night, the Exeter Eagles took one more step toward a Berks County Section 2 title.
In episode 41 of The Exeter Underground, co-host Kevin Foehl and I detailed the REAL reason that the Exeter Township Supervisors dropped their civil rights violating lawsuit against me.
The Exeter boys basketball team (8-2, 14-5) made short work of the Daniel Boone Blazers (0-10, 3-16) Monday night in Reiffton, overwhelming them 66-30.

The Exeter Township Supervisors have taken the unprecedented step of suing one of their citizens. Me. The freedom hating Supervisor board of Ted Gardella, George Bell, Michelle Kircher Dave Vollmer, and Dave Hughes (though I seriously doubt he’s involved in this cowardly act, for reasons you’ll see as you read) have sent solicitor Chadwick Schnee on a mission to harm one of the citizens.
While going through the agenda for tonight’s meeting, in the “Finance” portion, we see item #3, “Discuss and possible action to ratify the payment made to SRW Strategies (Invoice 2022- 042, dated 9/22/2022, $6,750) for the
forensic computer audit. “ This has come up before in discussion that Dave Hughes wanted to have in October, but that no one else was interested in at the BOS.
In the November 28th Exeter Supervisors meeting, Supervisor Ted Gardella could not contain his excitement on the ability of the township government to hide information from the people of Exeter.

In a meeting chock full of details, and for once, short on anger (except for a couple of childish outbursts by Supervisor Ted Gardella), the Exeter Township Supervisors listened to a budget presentation by Interim Township Manager Betsy McBride which detailed:

In a stunning reversal of what looked like a sure thing, the Exeter school board voted 5-4 against installing solar arrays on district property, with members Jason Mell and Tim Morgan joining the three “none” votes from the COW meeting of John Fidler, Bob Quinter, and Andrea Battler.
When I talked to people this week about Friday night’s game, the conversation would usually start with, “Well…..”, in a sign of apprehension. Lots of talk about “trap game” was thrown about. The Exeter Eagles (8-0) did NOT fall into “the trap”.

In my previous article, “One more thing on the lax Exeter financial record controls”, I revealed that the former Assistant Township Manager for Exeter Township went to a professional development conference three weeks before leaving for a job with Schuylkill Township in Chester County. After a tip from a reader, and a Google search, it was confirmed that Laurie Getz has been promoted to Township Manager for Schuylkill Township as of May 2022.
According to figures provided from an analysis of golf course revenue and expenditures by Exeter Supervisor Dave Hughes, the Redding Country Club golf course has lost $3.1 million in the last four years, 5.9 million if you include the debt service.
In an interview on “The Exeter Underground”, Exeter Township Supervisor Ted Gardella admitted that “we are not very good at transparency right now, we are just not”.
