Neben der Musik wird es auch Einblicke in die Rolle Mancusos für die Entwicklung der Clubkultur geben - und ein paar persönliche Anmerkungen dazu, weshalb es keine Loft-Party im Schlachthaus gibt und trotzdem das Bild von David Mancuso prominent am DJ-Platz positioniert ist.
Die laute Glitzerfrau zieht um - sammt Haus und Garage! Jane Dooms ehemalige Radiosendung "Haus of Doom" kommt ins Schlachthaus. Die Tradition von Vinyl-DJ Gästen und ihren Sets wird zum ersten Mal live gefilmt und mit Visuals verschönert gestreamt.

Geboren in Lettland hat sich Alisa seit ihrer Kindheit mit Musik und lettischem Tanz beschäftigt. Während ihres ersten Theaterbesuchs verliebte sie sich in das Ballett und entschied sich dazu Tänzerin zu werden. Nach fünf Jahren im Ballett fasste sie den Entschluss neue Wege zu gehen und sich an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart zu bewerben; die restliche Zeit investierte sie in Musik. Schnell entwickelte sie eine Leidenschaft für analoge Geräte, die bei ihren Live-Sets zum Einsatz kommen. Ihre Musik entzieht sich den üblichen Genrekategorien; stetig erneuert und erweitert sie ihr Repertoire. Neben ihrem musikalischen Wirken, beschäftigt sie sich ebenfalls mit visuellen Projekten. Hierzu gehören analoge Fotografie, größtenteils hinter, manchmal auch vor der Kamera, außerdem Collagen und Videoarbeiten, welche sie häufig mit ihrer Musik in Kontext setzt. Es entstehen Symbiosen aus auditivem und visuellem Material in einer zunehmend zeitgenössischeren Form.

Sie ist schon seit 2019 mit ihrem schweren Plattenkoffer unterwegs, jetzt schminkt sie sich noch 3 Stunden, zwingt sich in einem Korsett rein und trägt eine Perücke dazu - weil es Spaß macht. Sie serivert auf ihre bunten Plattentellern alles, was zum Tanzen und Mitsingen bringt, mit großer Vorliebe für 90iger House-Musik. Heute Abend:

During his studies he worked in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Computer Graphics and Image/Signal Processing. The focus of his work is to make the latest research results accessible and experienceable to a wider audience in an interactive way. He implements projection mapping installations on various architectures and landscapes and regularly enriches the "Schlachthaus” events with visual-immersive experiences.

Am 9.12.1995 öffnete das Depot (der Vor-Vorläufer des Schlachthauses) zum ersten Mal die großen Schiebetüren.
Geplant war das Ganze auf 6 Monate – aus denen wurden dann 10½ Jahre.
Eigentlich wollten wir das groß feiern, mit lauter Musik und Alkoholausschank (man munkelte sogar, oder genauer: ich munkelte, dass sich eine Tübinger Offbeat-Bandlegende nochmal zusammenraufen könnte, um zum Fest aufzuspielen).
Allein: das ist zur Zeit leider nicht drin. Deshalb werde ich am 9.12.2020 versuchen, wenigstens streamend musikalisch an das Depot zu erinnern. Die Musik wird sich an dem orientieren, was im Depot von 1995 bis 2006 abging: House, Drum&Bass, Reggae, Hip Hop, Acid Jazz und mehr. Launige Kommentare meinerseits können durchaus vorkommen.

Na, ganz so war‘s nicht: House war eher - wie es ein House-Track sagt - Disco‘s Revenge. Mit Einflüssen aus Funk, Soul, Jazz, (europäischer) Elektronikmusik (Synth Pop, EBM) und unter Einsatz von Samplern und Drumcomputern kam Disco wieder zurück, nachdem es lange totgesagt war.
House war und ist für mich die Königin der Clubmusik – heute abend werde ich meine persönliche Liebesgeschichte mit ihr feiern. Von den frühen 1980ern bis heute – discoid, funky, dark, technoid, jazzy, dubby … Und ich weiss jetzt schon, dass der Stream viel zu kurz sein wird.

Disco wird ja hier in Deutschland gerne mit Y.M.C.A. und Dancing Queen verbunden, Pop-/Charts-Musik – für mich war Disco jedoch, neben Punk und Reggae, die wichtigste Spielart von Undergroundmusik in den 70ern und frühen 80ern des letzten Jahrhunderts. Wobei: wenn wir es genau nehmen, war Disco (v. a. in seiner New Yorker Version) ja kein Musikstil, sondern beschrieb eher eine Mischung an Genres von Soul bis Funk, von Reggae bis Rock – von DJs wie Nicky Siano, David Mancuso, Tee Scott, Larry Levan zu einem Ganzen verbunden.
Heute abend werden neben Disco-Klassikern auch Perlen des New Yorker Undergrounds zu Gehör gebracht.

Self Oscillation" geht in die zweite Runde.
Genau vor 3 Monaten, kurz nach Beginn des Lockdowns, haben wir aus dem tübinger Schlachthaus unseren ersten Techno Livestream gesendet. Wahrend damals digitale Partys noch neu und befremndlich waren, ist das einsame durchklicken von livestreams in der Zwischenzeit fester Bestandteil internationaler Ravekultur geworden.
Seitdem hat sich zwar viel getan, doch ein regulärer Clubbesuch wird dennoch auf unabsehbare Zeit unmöglich bleiben.
Deshalb und weil "Çöp" beim letzten mal aufgrund vernuftgemäßer Corona-Quarantäne nicht vollständig waren Streamen wir am 21.6. Ab 21 Uhr erneut zwei analoge Techno-Live-Sets von

timodufner ist Musiker, Medienkünstler und Informatiker. Seine Arbeit konzentriert sich auf das Testen der Grenzen von Hard- und Software. Dabei sind Glitches eine unvermeidbare Komponente, die bewusst in Kauf genommen werden. Charakteristisch für seine Arbeit sind auch die direkte Interaktion zwischen Ton und Bild und der Austausch zwischen Publikum und Performance. Alle seine Werke entstehen in Echtzeit - im Augenblick - und somit ist jede Aufführung anders. Echtzeit-Audioverarbeitung, maschinelles Lernen und KI, Live-Codierung und zahlreiche elektronische Instrumente kommen zum Einsatz.

Jeden Abend begibt sich das Live-Techno-Duo Çöp mit seinen Synthesizern neu auf die Suche. Bis auf einzelne Elemente und Absprachen bleibt die Performance komplett improvisiert.
Trotzdem ist der Sound von vornherein klar: Schnell und düster geht es durch die Nacht. Nie ohne die Hoffnung auf ein besseres Morgen.

During his studies he worked in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Computer Graphics and Image/Signal Processing. The focus of his work is to make the latest research results accessible and experienceable to a wider audience in an interactive way. He implements projection mapping installations on various architectures and landscapes and regularly enriches the "Schlachthaus” events with visual-immersive experiences.

Jah Schulz, a musician and producer from Stuttgart, who is dedicated to bass music for 20 years.Inspired by dub mixing technology, that he plunged into as a teenager, he's been applying this art form in countless band projects and productions, border crossing musical genres.On stage Jah Schulz presents his productions in his infamous “live dub shows”. In real time all tracks are being rearranged and (re-) mixed in the tradition of Adrian Sherwood and Mad Professor.
On Railroad Records from Stuttgart he has released 9 vinyl records, some of which have heavily been played by some of the biggest sound systems. Even last tunes on sessions of Jah Shaka and Blackboard Jungle.

Geargrind has been improvising the experimental electro live on the synthesizers and drum computers for several years now. No software is used here to accompany the analog and digital instruments. The sound oscillates between spherically-synthetical ambient sounds and hard acid.

self oscillation. self organisation. - Live-Techno gegen die Tristesse der Selbstisolation.
Covid-19 hat unser aller Leben in den letzten Wochen grundlegend verändert. Schulen, Unis, Kultureinrichtungen und viele Betriebe stehen still. Aus guten Gründen sind wir dazu angehalten auf soziale Kontakte weitestgehend zu verzichten. Freundschaftliche Umarmungen, ja selbst Händeschütteln sind zur akuten Gefahr für uns selbst und für unsere Mitmenschen geworden. An den Besuch eines Techno-Klubs oder einer Diskussionsveranstaltung ist absolut nicht mehr zu denken. Was in den nächsten Wochen an finanziellen Schwierigkeiten auf kulturelle und subkulturelle Einrichtungen zukommt ist noch nicht abzusehen – sicher ist aber, es wird nicht leicht. Doch neben der drohenden materiellen Not, droht uns auch die Vereinsamung in der Selbstisolation.
Wir glauben, dass eine Gesellschaft Subkultur, Kunst und Diskurs braucht. Lasst uns das öffentliche Leben nicht gänzlich staatlicher Autorität überlassen, sondern neue Wege für unser Miteinander finden. Vielerorts, so auch in Reutlingen und Tübingen, entstehen solidarische Nachbarschaftsnetzwerke, die versuchen gegenseitige Unterstützung zu organisieren. Das finden wir großartig. Doch nicht nur die Grundversorgung mit Nahrung und Arznei, sondern auch der Zugang zu kulturellen und diskursiven Inhalten, ist existenziell notwendig. Deswegen wird „self oscillation. self organisation.“ in der Samstagnacht vom 21.3. auf den 22.3. zwei Techno-live-Sets live im Internet streamen. Außerdem werden sich Vertreter*innen der Gruppe About.Utopia mit Gedanken und Debattenbeiträgen zu Wort melden. Für ein Leben in der Selbstisolation. Für das gute Leben für alle.
