This lesson is part of the series titled, "Renewing Image Bearers". The hope is to help young Christians grow in our connection with God, each other and the mission. In this lesson we talk briefly about how we got the Old Testament. We look at the timeline of the Old Testament. We also consider the number of manuscripts we have of the Old Testament and compare it with other ancient texts. This lesson is by no means intended to be an exhaustive deep dive into this complex topic. Hopefully this short lesson helps to understand how we got the Old Testament.

In this lesson we talk about the principle of "reaping and sowing". We see how this concept makes the most sense within the context of the entire letter. Jesus in and through His death and resurrection has launched new creation in the midst of the old and the new Exodus. We are called to live out the lifestyle of being redeemed (sowing in the Spirit) and not living the lifestyle as though we are enslaved in Egypt (sowing in the flesh). We also see that in order to live out new creation in midst of the old, we need to experience God's discipline as well as be intentional in training. Finally we close out by mentioning that the Christian life is a marathon and not a sprint.

We see how as Christians we are called to swim upstream which is challenging and so we are called to help each other and not compare and compete with one another. The prayer and hope is this lesson helps you live practical Christian life that produces good things all in honor of God.

In this podcast we talk about being free in Christ as a community, living as redeemed people of the King. We discuss we are "free in Christ" and not "free from Christ". We also look at freedom within the relational context, whereby, being free means honouring the relationship with Jesus and obeying our King. Freedom outside a relational context can be an excuse for selfishness. We also talk about being consistent intentional Christian and not an accidental one. Jesus redeems us and gives us the gift of redemption. We close out by asking the question, "have you received this amazing gift of redemption"? In this video we look into Galatians 5:1-12. Do you desire to be free? I certainly do and I share personally how my first 9 years of my Christian journey I didn't experience the freedom in Christ. We look at the 3 keys that help us experience freedom. We start with the "who". Too often we can start with the "what". But the "who" helps us to remember that only Jesus has redeemed us. We then talk about the "where". We talk about picture of the "New Exodus" narrative that Galatians 5 paints. Finally we talk about the "what"...We end with the question, "have you received the gift of redemption"? If you would like to experience freedom and need help, please email me at rajchandra@icloud.com I would be honored to assist you in your journey.  Check out website: www.3cin3d.com

In this episode we explore 4:21-31. We start by looking into the incorrect assumptions we can make about law. We might think law is bunch of rules to keep us from being our authentic self. Or we might play off law vs grace. We can imagine that law sees our actions and not our intent whereas grace sees our intent and gives us a “get out of jail” free card. But as we saw in episode 11, law or the torah is both narrative and commands. Going back to the law means to go back to old covenant identity markers that mark out who are the people of God.

We see how Paul uses scriptural reasoning. We want to cultivate scriptural reasoning. A useful acronym that can help is T R U T H - T stands for text, R helps us remember that the narrative of the bible is redemptive. U helps us to Undo our thinking and the way we see things. T = Train whereby we want to train scripturally to encounter Jesus Christ and finally H = Holistic which reminds us that the bible is holistic.

In the next two weeks we will start series titled “Freedom in Christ” focusing on Galatians 5. Thank you for watching. Looking forward to seeing you again next week.

We unpack the word “curse” by surveying through Deuteronomy. We find that the context of curse is “covenant”. Simply put covenant is a “relational partnership”. We also look at Habakkuk 2:4 and Leviticus 18:5 and see how these verses help make sense of Galatians 3:10-14. The solution to the curse is Jesus Christ.
