With summertime upon us, Johnny “Lightning” and “Captain” Alex have checked the oil and kicked the tires on the old Magic Bus getting it ready for a musical journey remembering great highway tunes. Johnny Lightning and Captain Alex have dusted off some old 45 RPM vinyl records from the 1960s, mainly "shorties" or classic singles that are under two-and-a-half minutes long that are very often the greatest pop songs of all time. The reason songs were so short? A leftover from the days of the 78 RPM shellac records had a limit on what could be put on it. When the 45 arrived in the 1950s, the short song stayed because AM radio like their songs short. Enjoy these great pop singles from the 1960s.
