In this episode we explore the importance of designing - or envisioning - your FI life now, before you get there. We look at some principles from Dominick Quartuccio's book Design Your Future, in which he unpacks the process of escaping the "drift" through awakening, disrupting, and designing. We also look at the fun - and frightening - exercise of writing your own eulogy in order to break free from unhealthy habits and patterns, and cast vision for the life you can't wait to live into!
In this episode we unpack the biblical practice of tithing, exploring the biblical context, as well as the motives and resulting blessings of tithing.
I interview George Burns, the creator/co-founder of The Master's Purpose which seeks to empower Christian entrepreneurs and church leaders with biblical business development.
George and I discuss his personal story of becoming a coach, and what motivated individuals should look (out) for when looking for a great coach and/or program.
We also discuss biblical principles of business and wealth building, and the motives behind stewardship and generosity.
Lastly, we look back on a life lived with God's purposes in mind, and examine what a healthy approach to "retirement" looks like.

Does God laugh at our plans? If not, how can we exercise a submissive heart in our planning as we pursue financial independence? This life is full of temptation to go our own way and make something for ourselves. But if God knows the plans He has for us, what role do we play in realizing these plans. Do we merely show up and drift through life, or can we take a proactive approach to mapping the course of our lives, while also remaining obedient to God's leading?
We look at the groundbreaking book Who Moved My Cheese? to explore the psychology of handling change, especially when it comes to our pursuit of FI. We also look at what God's word says about dealing with fear and placing our faith in God in every situation.
Spoiler! Change is opportunity for growth and great reward!

We dig into James Clear's Book Atomic Habits to explore the relationship of intentionally designed habits in attaining long term goals.

We look at Psalm 49 and the dangers and downfall of those who misplace their trust in wealth. On our FI journey may we guard our hearts from pride as we keep our eyes fixed on our eternal security in Heaven with Christ.
