Lesson for the day: If you want people to listen to a podcast episode the audio is very helpful!

Pilates is a new found love of mine for now! My dad has told me to do Pilates since I was young! He said with my body type it would be a better workout for me, which I don't know what that means but my stubborn attitude that I get from him kept saying no.  However, it's an amazing workout and he was right, Dang it!

Pilates is a very intentional workout that helps with posture and mindfulness!

HIIT is High Intensity Interval Training it is a very specific and particular type of training that is repeated, extremely hard bouts of work interspersed with periods of recovery. During your work intervals, you’ll be challenging yourself nearly to your max!

HIIT is a convenient way to workout if you are short on time! Research finds that workout routines with bursts of intensity followed by short periods of rest have a positive effect on the brain’s neuroplasticity. Neuroplasticity is a phenomenon that refers to the brain’s ability to adapt to change by altering its functional and structural properties. When these changes occur, great things tend to happen, like learning and acquiring new skills. It also helps with learning, memory, and recovery from injuries, such as stroke,

Please take a look at your budget and where your money is going!

Take a minute to budget out the next month!

I truly believe that some women are in a bad situation because they don't know how to handle money, or don't have the money to to leave the situation.

When I first started to budget, I was terrified, I went to my bank and got my bank statements for the last year and wrote out in excel where I spent the money and the amount, I then categorized them to bills, groceries, eating out, netflix. To see where my money was going.

I then looked at it and saw what I could cut out to get more money into my savings. such as eating out.

I then checked out this amazing YouTube channel that made budgeting fun! She got herself out of $200,000 in student loan debt! She made a budget planner this year and since then I saved an extra $3,000 in a short amount of time!

If you are scared of budgeting or need help reach out! I'm a nerd when it comes to this stuff!

I love creating Vision Boards! They provide a daily visualization of dreams and goals, Visualization is one of the most popular and effective mind workouts that you can do. Grab a poster board from the dollar store, grab pictures from a magazine or use Canva and Google Images!

Vision boards helps the brain grasps opportunities that may otherwise been unnoticed, that's because the brain has a process called "value-tagging" which imprints important things onto your subconscious and filters out unnecessary information.

I love creating Goals, goals are a great way to be motivated, you can create SMART goals. Goals also can trigger new behaviors, help guide your focus and help you sustain the momentum for your life. Goals can also help align your focus and promote a sense of self-mastery.

I create Goals by writing them down on a piece of paper! I also great a goal map, I just break down my bigger goals into 3-5 milestones.

Success is not achieving the main goal, it's the little steps you took to achieve that goal!

I also write down my goal, why its my goal and why it's important to me, action steps, obstacles, and reward.

Goals stimulate the brain, motivating the person to accomplish the impossible! A study found the higher the goal, the more likely you would be to achieve it. The brain also has something called neuroplasticity, goal-setting literally changes the structure of your brain so that it's optimized to achieve that goal. In other words, if you strongly desire a goal, your brain will perceive obstacles as less significant than they might otherwise appear

It was Youth Violence Prevention Week.

Where I originally thought that that would be included in Domestic Violence Month, I was wrong.

Youth Violence is a topic I never thought about so I am sharing all the stuff I have learned. See Below for website to learn more and get involved!

I also watched the Trials of Gabriel Fernandez, a docuseries, about a young boy who fought for his life while living in an abusive home, it was a moving and hard to watch docuseries but very educational, I even remember hearing about it in the news, I was too young to know the whole story. I believe he would have turned 16 in 2020...

I don't think of my self as a leader but when I see people leading in a way that is not effective and may even be called harmful, it gets under my skin!

I have a rant about Leadership and what you should do as a leader!

These are my morning thoughts about being a leader. If it sounds scattered apologies! This wasn't planned I need a minute to reflect and let some research settle so I can present on the podcast and share with you!

If you are a leader please take the time to educate yourself so you can educate the people you have an influence over!

If you are a leader please listen and reflect if you are being held accountable

If you are holding someone accountable please think about how you are doing it! Is it with a good heart and respectfully. Accountability is a two way street!

We also talk about stuff he wishes to see change.

I understand that having this conversation may be hard for some but I also feel like it's a conversation that needs to be happen.

People react on fear of what they do not know.

Please enjoy the conversation and let me know what you think!

This first in person guest is very hardworking and driven, he works hard for what he wants!

To him: Thank you for basically being kidnapped for 6+ hours and doing the interview! And eating my food you didn't like!

Thank You! Stay Uplifted!

I try really had to get an episode out each week but I will be honest last week was hard.

It was my friends death anniversary and I was buried with emotions.

I wrote this to show the effect my friend had on my life.

My friend took his life February 16, 2012, he saved my life two month prior. This is the story of our friendship.

I also talk about the lasting effects of losing a friend or loved one to suicide, how a simple act like making eye contact with someone, something that may seem so small for someone may save the receiving person and change their life.

You can read many stories about someone planning to jump off a bridge or take their life but then a stranger held the door open or said "Hello" it's the smallest actions that may have the biggest impact one some.

Is anyone else excited about a new month falling on a Monday! I am always kind of excited for Mondays because I get to wake up early do my morning routine and get to work, on weekends I let my self sleep in or let my body wake me up. I get so excited about waking up early! The past few weeks have been a struggle I was slacking on my routine so this is me resetting and almost starting over. A way for me to reset my routine and refocus on why I wake up when no one else does and how to schedule out my day to accomplish what I want to get done! I usually spend the whole weekend resetting, it's the time where I have the full day to clean my apartment and work out, there are no excuses to why I can't get things done. But I learned that I can reset ever single day even during the week! This is how I reset!

  • Light a candle
  • Clean apartment
  • Make a smoothie
  • Plan the week ahead

I can easily do all these things during the week!

Today is a New Week! AND a New Month! I am so excited to revisit my goals and make a plan for all of them for the month!   It is also Black History Month please stay tuned for stories this month! And please take the time to educate yourself on the REAL Black History

I wanted to share why I wanted to start Mental Uplift!

Dealing with depression and anxiety and feeling like no one understood was really hard on me.

Through hard days I had a friend whose 26th Birthday would have been today if he didn't take his life a few years back, after saving my life!

I do this because he can't! I do this in hopes that others feel understood and like a fresh air of "Finally someone gets it!"

I know my friend would really like this and I hope that people feel like they are a part of something!

You can get through hard things!

Happy 26th Birthday Danny <3 Thank You!

Thank You!
