In March 2021, Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District continued its year-long 70th-anniversary celebration by introducing a new mini-podcast series called “Trailblazing Women in District History.” This podcast featured an interview with a past or current female Rec & Park employee who has been a trailblazer for other women in the industry and who have made a big impact in the District’s history. This podcast also tied in with the celebration of National Women’s History Month, a month-long celebration to acknowledge women’s contributions to history, culture, and society. Get ready to be inspired!

Juli was a proud member of the Rec & Park family for 18 years (1990-2006) who was instrumental in developing comprehensive teen programming in Pleasant Hill. She not only established the first Teen Council and Teen afterschool program but she also created a true "Teen Scene", a cool hangout place where teens could gather in a supervised, safe place and have fun together (without parents).
